3x Haunted House and 16 of the season 5 CMFs on sale from S@H. Plus received the free Zombie Car (400076) anything free is good right?
-
Just purchased 3, can't wait for them to arrive so I can build it.
-
Its not fair!!!! Now the S@H site just says 'Coming Soon' - they've removed the date. you've got to be kidding me. Any luck in any other parts of the world?
-
Well, is 12:06am on 1 Sep, why can't I buy this!!! not happy. Looks like I shouldn't have bothered staying up. I guess it will have to wait until morning, hopefully they aren't sold out by then. I've waited this long, what's a few more hours.

Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Xyver replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Having a look at Tarazz.com.au Their prices seem reasonable compared to S@H, though they are obviously putting a 10-15% mark-up on the prices for their cut, but that's fair enough. But then you get to the postage! $85 each for the Pet Shop and the Grand Emporium. expensive, but ok. But if you add them both together, the postage goes up to $160. I thought things were supposed to get cheaper the more you bought. Sure, its still cheaper than S@H, but that postage is outrageous. ... Just checked the Aus Post website for sending parcels internationally, looks like that amount isn't so bad after all. I'll never complain about S@H's shipping costs ever again. -
I recently purchased a new and sealed 4996 Beach House and noticed that the texture on the 2x4 45 slopes and the 2x8 45 slopes was quite noticably different. So even with newer bricks, you would assume made around the same time, there is a difference in texture.

LT, 7990 was $40 and 7991 was $45. And from an Aussie supplier too so postage was only $15. They were all sealed so I thought they were a good buy for the price.

Just arrived via BrickLink 7990 - Cement Mixer 7991 - Recycle Truck 4996 - Beach House Can't wait to get home from work and buld the trucks!

Congrats on making the front page! Love the port-a-loos, I'm guessing the Dalek is leaking oil? And the alien invasion is a great touch. We'll have to invest in some barricades like you have to keep the little hands off the display.

I thought a tree would look great in the garden bed I'd made, then saw it sitting on my table after making the Seaside House and figured it'd fit right in.

I've added a roof to the service area and decided to tile the ground to get around the road problems. I also put the carwash on an angle to fit it in better. I would like to put up a price sign somewhere but not sure where as there isn't much room left. The roof for the mechanics area is high because I have included the moving beam for the winch as per the original 7642, though I haven't built the winch as yet.

I've rearranged it so it now sits on a corner. It is 2x32 baseplates wide and mostly 1x32 deep. The office now sits at the back of the mechinic station, so that end is 40 deep and the shop sits 6 over the back (mainly because the base I have my own cafe corner on is 26 deep and otherwise they'd overlap) There is enough room move a car in between the shop and the carwash, but may reduce the length of the carwash by 2 studs to make it a bit better. As you can see from the overhead shots, this layout doesn't fit in with the standard road plates, but once I have enough bley plates to do the footpaths of my town I'll tile the area to make it work. I've added a shop on the back, it is based on the building from 7993, though larger. The roof over the pumps is the one from 7993, just two studs wider (deeper in this picture) so its the same width as the new pumps mechanic bay and shop (with pumps removed) you can just make out the office at the back. I'm all but out of green 1x plates now, hence the 2x on the roof of the shop. I had to raid my Space Centre launchpad to get enough red tiles too. I think these sets fit together quite well and are more realistic of the service stations around here.

That is a great cabin, and the snow cover addition is great. You've got an extra supporter on Cuusoo now.
-
This layout doesn't quite fit into my city, there is no rear access to the car wash. I'll have to rearrange and modify it tonight to get a better fit and might try and add the 7993 shop and roof into the mix. I have downloaded the instructions and will post some more photos once I'm done.

B-OV-35E I've been trying to re-create some of the great sets I missed during my dark ages and thought I'd give 7642-Garage a go after finding the Red Scarf Crook hiding in there (from Spot the Crook book) After building it, I was wondering what the long part on the right was actually for, then figured it'd be perfect as a car wash. So I changed the colour scheme to the Red/Green Octan style and put in the rollers from 4207 City Garage that I just bought (but with no intention to build). I also put the petrol pumps out front and some of the vehicles using the facilities. I've used some of the stickers from the new set to give it a better feel. Anyway, here's the end result, it fits nicely into a spare space in my city that I had. Mum is filling up her van getting ready to pick the kids up from school, looks like the next petrol deliver is on its way. Car Wash time (the car doesn't actually go through, the brushes don't give that much, is that right or have I put the walls too close?) trying to re-create the vehicle lift was fun, no wonder they made a special piece for it The Office

Great job Brickie, I will have to give it a closer inspection next time I'm in the shop.

I purchased the Imperial Shuttle and X-Wing starfighter this morning, can't wait to build them. They'll look nice on my TV cabinet with the 7965 Millennium Falcon I bought earlier this year. I was thinking about maybe possibly getting the SSD, but they sold out before the toy sales started so I couldn't. The Imperial Shuttles were left over from last year's mid-year toy sales so it was a very happy find.

Spent up again today at the Toy Sales: Imperial Shuttle - they had a few left over from last year, though the box is totalled. I wanted the SSD but they were already sold out. XWing Olivia's House Seaside House Recycling Truck City Police Station City Garage

I was at my local BigWat 8:10 this morning, they only opened at 8, and the SSD was already sold out. I was told that as last year's Imperial Shuttle didn't sell well they didn't order many in. This must be true as they had 5 shuttles left (though I grabbed one) The boxes were squashed as they've obviously been in storage for a year, but that's ok, its going to be built anyway. Depending on the markup they can make on these, they may have made a big mistake as they seem to be very popular and not many people are getting their hands on one. -
Tonight I picked up a second of both the Red Cargo Train and the Passenger Train. My passenger train is going to have three full carriages now instead of just one. Also picked up the Forest Police Station, more for a parts pack than the actual set (at 38% off its worth it) and finally got the Train Station, have been after that one for ages. Next week I'm going to grab another Forest Police Station, Olivia's House, Recycle Truck, X-Wing, Sea-side House and then seconds of the City Police Station, Tip Truck and Dirt Bike Transport. I love the June toy sales, the worst discount is 25% on the X-Wing! Hopefully that with satiate my desire to buy Lego for a while, atleast until I can get my hands on the Haunted House.

Myer Brisbane CBD had plenty of Red Cargo Trains left, as did Myer Carindale. They also have a few of the Passenger Train so I grabbed one of each for extras, plus a train station. There were no VW Campers that I saw at Carindale, but still plenty in the CBD and a few tower bridges too. I asked if they would price match Target for the Forest Police Station and the guy (a Lego enthusiast) said he'd check. Lo and behold it scanned at the Target price anyway, so it looks like they realised and just changed their price (I couldn't wait another week to save an extra $5 at BigW but will pick up a second one anyway) Target at Capalaba and Carindale are already sold out of R2s and although someone on here mentioned the Diagon Alleys are in store I couldn't find any of them either. I've only just signed up to MyerOne, only got my card this week, but I didn't get an email, another 10% off would've been great. The guy did give me two of the large Lego bags though, just a shame they have MYER at the top. -

Just as well my MyerOne card arrived yesterday, might go pick up a second Red Cargo Train and the Train Station set. Other than that, 20% off at Myer is no better than standard, and worse normally as they often have the buy 2 get 1 free sales. I don't know how many of Olivia's House Myer and Target ($99) expect to sell considering their sale price is BigW's standard price ($98), and its on sale for $20 off that, down to a low $78. The same with the Forest Police Station, $94 on sale at Myer, $74 on sale at BigW ($98 normally) Kmart is the big winner for my shopping dollars with the Garage, Recycle Truck and might pick up another Police Station, plus finally buy the X-Wing. I hope I get some money for my birthday (fat chance) so looks like I'm buying myself lots of presents, shame its a day late. -
For this one I was going for an old style wooden commuter carriage. This one appears to have a Star Wars fan party on board, looks like Chewy is trying to pick up the only lady in the group Please let me know if you like it, or any suggestions for improvement. What's the best way to go about putting doors in, as the standard 4x6 frame is too high for this style of carriage.
-
This is my first train MOC so I was just trying out a few things. I started with a carriage first as I figured it would be the easiest, I will attempt an engine next once I've finished the inside of this one. I thought a curved transparent roof would look nice, gives it the feel of a long distance scenic tour train. The top does lift off for easy access. Please let me know what you think and any advice and/or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

Jonwil, BigW have Olivia's House for $78. RRP is $120 so that's 35% off, and their normal prices is less than Target's 20% off sale price!
