+1 to everything Aanchir said with some extra emphasis on that part concerning the Batwing's size. The old one really sported some bulk and I thought it lacked swooshability. TLC fixed that in the upcoming design. Hopefully smaller vehicles will mean lower prices... Concerning vehicles: I like the Luthor-mech the most. Does anyone else think, maybe it's its colours, that it could be a formidable Joker-mech almost in its vanilla state just by swapping some parts with the Joker-heli from that Batwing-set? And although I think Superman and to a lesser extent Wonder Woman are the blandest and most uninteresting characters in the DC universe, I feel some multiples of that set could be nice. Also many thanks to Grogall for those high resolution pictures. Nice! Be well! Cutty

Trying to quit a Minecraft-session: One more block, one more block, one more block, one more block...

As I hinted at in your Onix-thread before, I like this creation even more! Overall shape, proportion, articulation and the fact that this monster is a walking barking rottweiler-devil makes it just soooo good! Thank you for posting this! Keep 'em coming! Be well! Cutty

I like the vehicle and the figure very much! That hoverbike looks both outlandish and useful while remaining entirely believable in form and design. To me it appears like a Batwing's equivalent to the infamous Batpod-vehicle as a former part of the Tumbler. So I would entirely expect for Batman to eject a damaged Batwing on a vehicle like the one you designed. Good stuff! That UFO-armour piece fits Batman perfectly. To be honest? I had a very similar combination in my hands only mere days ago, yet I squeezed the cape under that armour to avoid the looks of cloth blowing in the wind. With that fine hoverbike as a ride however, that is most likely a desired effect and doesn't look out of place, which would be the case for a standing figure (well, unless you were implying wind anyway...). I like the creation! Be well all! Cutty

From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...
Cutty replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Interesting compilation. I could not recall any decisive info on planets' names given by TLC about any pre-story-based lines, such as Bionicle and modern Hero Factory, in Germany. There was that Bug planet from Insectoids, though, that had a name (should be the same as what you had in your list) Fun fact: Prima Giedi? Had to suppress a lol-attack here, as "Giedi Prime" is, if I recall correctly, the name of the Harkonnen-homeworld from the Dune-universe. At least it was called that in the D. Lynch movie. Be well! Astounding! You captured the head shape, look and overall "feel" of an Onix perfectly! I'm a bit out of Pocket Monsters right now, but I recognise a good interpretation when I see it. This is very good! Shame he's so useless in the game: spit on him and he dies of moisture... Nevertheless, a truly inspiring creation. Be well! Cutty edit: quick browsing of your BS-gallery makes me like your Houndoom even more! Hey, who would't want a pet rottweiler-devil-chimaira with a built in flamethrower? Hello? It's a no-brainer!

Losing interest in a theme you once loved
Cutty replied to RichardRobins's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Classic space was big in my childhood and M-Tron were my absolute heroes with all of their cool vehicles, robots and the magnets with Ice Planet and the occasional Blacktron and Space Police (both I and II) as complementary forces. I had lots of Futuron sets also (which were by the time just called "Raumfahrt" in Germany, which would roughly translate to "space exploration". Yes, the world was simple back then *nostalgia*) and even very old space sets, though not much. Gone safe for the above mentioned nostalgia kicking in. Classic castle! Forestmen, Black Knights and Black Falcons all the way! Back then! Unless they get reintroduced in a more modern fashion the appeal is as well truly nostalgic. And my favourite topic of all times: Star Wars... no more! The one thing that rekindled my flame for the brick and threw a life's supply on combustible material in for free? Gone! All of it, be it Lego, be it the movies, you name it and I can wholeheartedly assure you it's cauterised from my list of interests for good. And now here's the worst of it: I do not miss it, because the modern stuff is just so good. Which is also the best of it, since it paved the way for my complete shift towards all things castle-ifiable. I know it's not an actual word, but it describes the way I percept Lego nowadays. Perhaps I got a bit carried away, but the on topic-stuff is hidden in the above. Be well all! Cutty -
I love the possibility of a second chance at getting Harley Quinn (again just to incorporate her into Castle ). I really don't know why I deliberately shunned the set she came in as it wasn't that pricey to begin with. Getting her first iteration in Germany is kind of pointless as she sells for a price almost half of the original MSRP of the respective set, which I cannot percept as any other than a rip-off. So second fat chance for me once she shows up ^^ Finally a necro-jester for my misunderstood-kind-of-evil-skeleton-faction, yay! Be well all! Cutty

That looks sugary awesome and extra tasty! Love it! I used to handmake gingerbread houses for christmas until a few years ago but never thought of doing one in Lego! The recreation of actual liqourice-pieces for fence posts is my favourite detail! (even though I despise liquorice for the life of me *shudder*) Be well all! Cutty

The dog I had never got into immediate reach of my collection and preferred stuffed animals for chewing on anyway. So while there never was imminent hazard of some canine fangs totally devastating precious plastic ,there was the issue of HAIR!! The little bitch (=female dog, still!) would lose her own weight in loose hair twice a year upon which those would scatter about the whole goddamn house faster than you could clean it, including my Lego! The poor little beast passed away some time ago and still I pull the occasional reminiscenting leftover of her's out of my sorting/storage bins T___T . (Miss you, girl!) So: Chewing was never my concern, just the removal of stray hair. Which became annoying over the years. Be well all! Cutty

It's most unlikely I'll ever procreate so the question is a little off for me, yet I did make up my mind loooong ago about it: My children would get Playmobil to play with exlusively. (exception below) Once I assessed their maturity provides them a certain level of understanding and carefulness I might invite them to build with me, though. Unless they won't show the same level of care and reverence (yeah, it's a bit of an exaggeration, I know ;-) ) for the bricks I own(ed before they were around!), they do not deserve access to the collection. No compromise. I might get the little ones some sets of their own, though. And if only for observing their handling of the bricks. If that sounds harsh to you, well, you ARE entitled to your own opinion as I am perfectly entitled not to care about the concern I hear ^^ My bricks, my rules, end of story. Be well all! Cutty edit: rectified my logic...

MOC: Who's Hunting Who
Cutty replied to SmoothSexualBrickMaster's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Alas, the mix-up was on my part! Checked my picture files again and found I jumbled mental images of both the raptor and triceratops sets. Never mind, still a good torso to have! Be well! Cutty -
MOC: Who's Hunting Who
Cutty replied to SmoothSexualBrickMaster's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is really an awesome little scene there. I like the light-fx shot very much! Although the 'saurs appear to be walking by, instead of preying their predator, although this might be due to their limited (rather nonexistent) articulation. A rotatable neck would have worked wonders for this MOC. Nevertheless you prove the potential behind the new Dino-line. Which is good! All opposable thumbs up there! Be well all! Cutty Edit: Good to get a better view of that vest-torso (it's from the Triceratops-set, isn't it?). My initial assessment was right then: It is Castle-compatible judging by these shots! Third thumb up! -
My only "dream" license would be "John Carter of Mars / Barsoom chronicles", that may, yet don't have to be, tied-in with Disney's 2012 movie of the material. And from just reading the first five novels of Burrough's series I imagine there being even more potential in such a line than Star Wars EVER had! You got red martians, green martians, black martians, yellow martians (colour-coded for your convenience!) a plethora of fauna (Riding thoats, zitidars, BANTHS!), vehicles of all kinds in all shapes and sizes, potential playsets in cities and a nigh negligible need for displaying Mars/Barsoom itself as it'S mostly deserted anyway. So all in all we have an adventure-driven vehicle-based world full of strong and interesting characters and creatures, and noone taps it's potential! Shame! Be well all! Cutty

Battlestar Galactica Legos--Will we ever see them?
Cutty replied to TristanJones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
From what I understood there's yet another BSG reboot in the works that presumably has no ties to the "classic"-Lorne-Greene-series or the (superior! scnr) SyFy-series (which is awesome! scnrII). If that turns out to be PG-13 or lower rated movie, we might get lucky. A nice Viper vs. Raider set? Appetising thought! Until that day comes (or not) I'll be content watching all those sexy Viper models people come up with. Be well all! Cutty -
The games are an outstanding resource for parts. Concerning selection and availability in sheer quantity there's hardly a better method safe for bulk-shopping on BL or PaB. Given the games get on sale more often and then for insane discounts (got me Frog Rush some time ago for about half MSRP, doesn't get any better!). On another note: I love the games' boxes for their versatility and sturdiness! I use them for storage and sorting now and some even hold my current Castle/fantasy-minis. Great for those insofar, as they can be kept standing once you add a CMF-base to them. So my elves got one box, the crown-faction another, civilians and dwarves are still sharing a box, but dwarves are in preparations to move out ;-) Only I don't have that much income, so upon hearing some got 10+ Ramses' Returns I had to swallow. The arguments in favour of that fine parts-pack are still striking! It's still on discount (for 9,99€ in some places!) so I'll get me some more. Those big tan baseplates justify the purchase at such a price themselves! Be well all! Cutty

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion

That security guard part is the exact reason why I do my searching under the eyes of employees exlusively just to get all potential suspicion off me. In smaller stores I even ask if it's all right to do my searching, as I was once told not to and very rudely by the way. Strangely that was when S1 and 2 were still around and I explained in response I wasn't even feeling but checking barcodes. Well, that lady insisted on the bags being for surprise-purposes only. Well, as if I wouldn't have known that... I chuckled at that groaning part. Be well all! Cutty -
Made myself heard. I hope some of my info will strengthen TLC's future design decisions towards catering more to the AFOL-crowd!

AC is out of the question, I like the blue, but then again, there hasn't been that much blue apart from dark blue in Agents in recent action themes. Power miners nearly got me a stroke from all that overboard lime green. And that Blacktron part of your post can only be meant rethorically. Seriously? Blacktron without black was Blacktron 2, with those god-aweful white torsi, and that wasn't that much of a wise design decision. Who wants a theme called "Blacktron" where the black is only used as "highlights" inbetween lots of white? I'd like this new Dino theme more if TLC had given that inflationarily used yellow a stronger counterpart in some earthy tones. I think sand green or even sand red would have made the yellow stand out so much more while at the same time toning down it's apparent "glare effect". This line is proof that sometimes less is more. edit: took some strong language out...

(This thread is proof I visit this subforum far too infrequently) Alas! Outstanding designs there. I quite like all of the above variants but tend to prefer options a) and d) equally. Option b) will definitely not get my vote for being a little too light in appearance, due to the white checkers pattern and because said checkers stray too much from BF's original design. One might counter that option c) is pretty light as well but here the overall design takes up the shield heraldry's "colour divide" pattern, which fits BF more than checkers would. And then again I can not remember there being a precedent example of BF sporting checkers, safe for some customs of course. Option d) is again a little dark, although I think it'd be quite perfect alongside the new official redesigned BF knight, as he is mostly dark as well. So here's a tough nut to crack. As these are intended to be based upon the official redesign, option d) gets my vote because of the darker look and the colour-divide, with option a) following up just a tiny iota. King and jesters are A-grade as they are, no negative criticism here. May I ask whether you plan to build upon these designs further? There's some pretty good potential behind these, and personally I'd love you do some damsels' dresses and perhaps some citizens' or nobles' attires as well. Be well and many thanks for these! Good job frogstudio! Cutty

One of the most visually striking scenes of one of the best movies I know wonderfully recreated! Lots of kudos to you! Chris Nolan really does go that extra mile to add that tiny bit of spice that makes a great movie. And the glacier duel between Ducard and Bruce Wayne is exactly that. I admire your taste in movies and even more so that you selected this specific scene. The MOC itself, while being somewhat simplistic in appearance, does give away a powerful image. Thumbs up!! Be well! Cutty

I'd suggest waiting until CMF series 6 pops up and give her the long wavy bright yellow hair of the space lady (pink suit ftw!). It's perfect to inspire a sense of nobility. At least for my taste ^^. I really wished TLC had given series 5's gymnast that hair in either reddish or dark brown for a little variation T___T. I personally would stick with the standard elf hair from series 3. To my eyes it's mostly unisex anyway, and to indicate "elveness" there just HAS to be a pointy pair of ears anywhere ^^. Be well all! Cutty

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion

Well, not to get all historic-facts-in-your-face and all, but technically lions did exist outside of africa for the longest time, having a habitat stretching from southern europe (todays Greece and caucasos region) way far into the middle eastern regions (todays Iran, Iraq and beyond). Well, until homo sapiens decided to make himself king of the food chain for that matter. This is also the reason why you can read so many stories about antiquity's heroic characters fighting and slaying lions, why you can see persian kings lion hunting aso. ^^ As for that heraldry: Yes, even though the pic doesn't give away that much, I concur on a boar being the most reasonable assumption. I welcome this strongly and hope to get some numbers of the black knight to stock up on very useful parts. Be well all! Cutty -
Amazing accomplishment there! I hardly ever saw a transforming Megatron MOC that was this detailed and had such a cool alt-mode. In fact, from all versions of his alt-mode, ranging from mass-losing firearms over tanks to alien jets, THIS one actually is one of the coolest ever! That mobile turret with the BFG! on top really looks distinctively intimidating. Now do a G1 Starscream and put him in front of this baby's nozzle! Would love to see that ^^ Be well! Cutty

Precisely the one! As for that plumage-argument: I will leave it at that, as I did fight enough windmills for the day and also see that there's no ground to be won here. May anyone prefer "naked" 'saurs all the more, I keep to my own preferences. :-) Be well all! Cutty
