  1. Man, your collection is really great, you have quite a few sets that I am still searching for......for example 8851 and 8854. One of my goals is to own every pneumatic set, these 2 are still missing....... And the Lego lamp is so wunderfull, I´m so happy to own one, they became quite rare and it´s rather expensive to by one, if you can find one.
  2. Here is my collection, most of the sets are waiting in their boxes to be build. As you can see, I only display a few models. The visible boxes on the cupboard represent about 80% of my collection, I have a few sets in parts without the original box. The showcases are actually fish tanks with a selfmade lid, protecting the models from getting dusty..... The big LEGO-sign is about 30 years old, I got it as a christmas present. The Showcases:
  3. Hmm, there is not much information about the suspension, there are only two posts in this thread where the suspension is mentioned, here and here
  4. I think the flatbed truck and the backhoe are both must-haves, the exreme cruiser ist a nice display model but its functions are kind of weak compared to the other two models. I have all three, but the flatbed ist my favorite! fitzi
  5. copy that! I really have to build it now, it is just awesome!
  6. Since I got 8458 in very good condition for a descent prize yesterday at ebay, I´m looking forward to build Nathanaels Supercar. The only thing missing is 8466 , I will hopefully get one by the end of march, really have to spare some money for it ´cause 8466 is ruinously expensive. But isn´t there another Supercar which one can build only from parts of the 8458? fitzi
  7. Great idea to give such a great set a review! I love the Space Shuttle, I bought it a few years ago in good condition but never managed to build it, thats why I´m very interested in your review. But there is one thing........well, dont get me wrong but could you please try to make better pictures? 8480 is an epic set, one of the best TLG ever released and it deserves better pictures!
  8. It looks interesting, but could you give us more informations about the functions? I see it is remote controlled, but which functions (apart from the main engine) are RC? fitzi
  9. I´ve seen many really good MOC´s on Eurobricks, but this Jeep Hurricane is just awesome. I would spend a fortune to get the chance to build it, the look and the functions are just amazing. Will there be any instruction to rebuild it?
  10. Oh yes, that would have been cool! 1337 ^^
  11. Nice little excavator, I like it because it´s so compact but still has all the functions it´s supposed to have! Well done!
  12. The guy from the video says that the crawler has AWD, all wheel steering and uses "two powerful motors so that the trail is no problem". Hey does not specify for what function these two motors are used though, I think they maybe have two motors for driving and another one for steering......
  13. The Lego guy from the video talks about "two powerful motors to manage the trail". I wonder if there are only two motors or is there a third one for steering? I guess they have two motors just for driving and the third one to steer that beast.
  14. Would love to see the pictures, but brickshelf is down again, damn it! Edit: Saw the pictures at flickr, well done, really nice design
  15. Maybe you could use one of the Black Bar 9 x 13 Grille, to kind of protect the turntable and the cog, 8049 Tractor with Log Loader contains one of these! Don´t know if it fits, but give it a try! fitzi
  16. This thing is great!!! I just had to make an order at bricklink in order to rebuild your "Technic hand" if you don´t mind! Thanks for sharing! fitzi
  17. Yeah, thats what I thought, too, but now it´s down again!
  18. 8421 is an awesome set due to it´s sheer size, and to it´s complexity. It´s fun to build and to play with. Other than that, it´s one of the largest technic sets ever, so yes, it´s worth it. But I wouldn´t buy it MISB as the prize is as you said ridiculous high. Try to find it in a good used condition, 8421 (used) will cost you around 100€ on ebay , including the box. I think thats a descent prize. 8275 is another good example of a very very good set, it has less parts than 8421 but due to it´s PF elements its a must have! It´s so much fun to play with, even though I think that 8043 is better in terms of playability. I bought a used 8275 about 2 month ago on ebay for 90€ in very good condition including the box. I didn´t even had to wash the parts as the former owner only used it as a display model. So both models are a must-have in my opinion, but I would try to get them second hand because as MISB the are not affordable (at least for me). fitzi
  19. This is maybe the best MOC in terms of complex building I´ve ever seen. Just brilliant! Your PDK including two clutches is mind-blowing! Thanks for sharing! fitzi
  20. Thanks to all of you for the nice comments! That really pushes me in making more reviews! The production stamp on my box is embossed as "41M1" What is this stamp all about? Month/Week of production? fitzi
  21. My sister found this and immediately told me about it, 2 guys from Toronto managed to get a Lego Man up into stratosphere, here is the video: And here is the article: Article at Globalpost
  22. Hello everybody, here comes my second review. Lego Technic 9391 Tracked Crane Purchase Date: 11.1.2012 @ Real, Germany Price: 14,99 Pieces: 218, Price per piece: 6,87 ct It took me about 2 hours on building both (A & B) models, this includes taking all the pictures and video´s. The box The dimensions of the box are 26x19x4.5 cm, it consists of a thick cardboard compared to the box of 9390, which was made of rather thin cardboard. Here are the pictures of the box Interestingly, the picture of the crane somehow goes around the corner, look at this: Inside, there are two manuals, one for the A- and one for the B-model. TLG didn´t divide the A-model instruction into two parts as they did with the A-model instruction of 9390 Mini Tow Truck. Beside the instructions there are two bags, one large one in which two other, smaller bags are suited, and a smaller bag with all the track parts in it. A closer look at the two small bags after cut open the big bag: We get 13 gears, but since I experienced, that TLG often uses them as knobs, I don´t think that they have much to do with the functions of the model. And it is a tracked crane, so at least 4 of the gears are used as "wheels". Wow, I havn´t seen so many studded bricks a long time! And here it is, the part for which quite a few of us after all buy this set! The mini turntable! It only has teeth on the outside, since there isn´t enough room on the inside for more teeth. Very tiny, looks almost cute! A-Model The building My building setup, ready to go! In the following a few pictures to show you the building process: The mini turntable is used right in the beginning: Now, the building goes straight forward without any difficulties ore unusual things, just a basic building. Here is a detail I didn´t like at all: Watch the yellow axle below the string, there isn´t enough space so the string rubbs against the axle. The system never the less works, but it´s not as perfect as it should be. The crane takes shape: Here the cabin is assembled: Ready for the tracks? Final pictures After all, here are a few pictures showing the final model: The back of the crane is very well designed, look at this beautiful butt: Raising the boom, this is the steepest gradient: These are the leftover parts after the building: The functions The crane has the following functions: - Driving ( by hand ) - Turning the superstructure using a knob - Raising / Lowering the boom using a knob - Rolling up the string using a knob - Extend the boom ( by hand) I made a little video to show the functions: As I always try to get better, I also wanted to review the B-model this time....... B - Model The building Here is once again my setup: The building is straight ahead and simple, nothing spectacular, here are the pictures: These are the leftover parts, quite a lot as you can see: So here are the final pictures: The functions As it is a B-model, I wasn´t surprised that it has less functions than the A-model: - Driving (by hand) - Raising / Lowering the front shield using a knob - Raising / Lowering the "folk" (by hand) As always, I made a short video to show the functions: Final conclusion A-Model It´s a good model, but not outstanding. The functions are ok, but nothing special here. I think most of us AFOL´s will buy it just for the parts. Compared to the last years 8067 Mini Mobile Crane ( I know that 8067 was a bit more expensive than 9391), I like the 8067 Mobile Crane a lot more, I think you get more value for money by buying the Mobile Crane. It has more functions but only a little bit more parts. But still 9391 looks quite nice, almost cute with it´s little cabin. B-Model A long time during the build I thought that the B-model will be better than the A-Model. Well, after building the B-model, I´m not sure if I´m right. The B-model is nice, a good looking little bulldozer, but not as cute as 8259 Mini Bulldozer . I hoped that both functions (lowering/raising the blade, lowering/raising the "folk") are controlled by some gears, but only the front blade is controlled by a gear system. The "folk" is moved by hand, there are no gears connected to it. That was the point where I got a little bit disappointed. There are tons of leftover parts after building the B-model, I wonder if a "better" B-model is possible by using more parts.........for example the mini-turntable is not used building the official B-modell. All over all over all conclusion 9391 is not one of the best technic sets, but I think it´s worth the 15 €, especially because you get a few rare and new parts. But in terms of playability, I would recommend 8067 as it has more parts, more functions and costs only an few € more than 9391. You will find more pictures in my brickshelf gallery: Pictures A-Model Pictures B-Model Because it took ages to upload the high-res pictures of the 9390 Mini-Tow Truck, i won´t upload high-res pictures of the 9391, but on demand, they (4000x3000) are available, just ask me! Thanks for reading, comments and criticism are welcome! fitzi
  23. I´d like to thank you all very much for the nice comments! Yes it´s true, I put a lot of time and effort into making this review, but it´s worth it as it was really fun to do. And it´s nice to have the chance to do something for the community. fitzi
  24. thank you! I´m working in a dialysis center, sometimes we need dry ice in order to transport things like banked blood or other stuff from our center to the laboratory.
