"Thank you for your inquiry but I am fine. I will be shedding my skin soon anyways and that will replace the missing scalesss." Sarick removed a scale from the Giant Crocodile and placed it in a pocket. He then joined the others and slithered up to the door. He pondered it for a few minutes and decided to go with this pattern while Guts and Dak were sleeping XXX OOO XXX OOO XXX

"Hrm, I was sensing your ether level not your health level. I've got too much pent up magical energy. It'sss all I can think about." Sarick turns back to the Crocodile. "I shall attack the Giant Crocodile from the back row with my frost magic!"

Sarick's mind was finally able to focus again. He looked around and assessed the damage. "Nerwen, those cutsss look nasty. I'd like to get rid of them before your next attack. I shall attack Nerwen from the back row with my Healing Staff."

Sarick charged his energy. He was going to blast the crocodile in the face and try to blind it. "Hrm...his tail is moving at me rather quickly. I have a tail, why didn't I remember to watch out for his tail..."

"Bricks! This Crocodile is hard to hit. I'll attack the Giant Crocodile from the back row with frost magic."

Sarick hissed from the crocodile's attack. "I shall attack the Giant Crocodile from the front row with my Mockthril Staff."

"There are a lot of reptilesss in these minesss. I shall attack the Giant Crocodile from the back row with my frost magic."

"My vote isss to check out the noise. We might find something to open this door with in that direction as well."

While the others fought, Sarick inspected the rubble blocking the passage. "I think...if I lower the temperature around the rocks I can freeze whatever moisture there is in the air...and force these rocks to budge..." "Knifk, would you mind stepping back. I am going to try and remove thessse obstacles from our path. It will take some effort and I might need to use one ether to get the job done."

"When we first entered the mine we took the right path and faught creatures. We then took the left path, from the entrance, found the alcove and found these unfortunate miners. If we cannot go forward in thisss tunnel I vote we take the middle path, from the entrance of the mine."

The groups attack left the denziens fighting for life. The dark magic animating the foes struggled to keep it's puppets active. Finally, only the Bearded Skeleton remained. "I shall attack the Bearded Skeleton from the back row with my frost magic."

OOC: I was going to post in rules and discussion but its already been mentioned here. When a mage gets a magic burst they use their magic to attack the enemy. They do not also get a weapon attack. Still enjoying the quest! Sarick felt the rush of energy as he unleashed his magic. He moved back to assess the situation. "Thanksss for the information Nerwen. My people despise magic users and have alwaysss told me that my frost magic is useless against the undead. It is good to see it effects them."

Sarick hissed and backed away as the Skeleton near him rose with evil life. He could feel the magical energy emanating from the undead. Sarick hissed and said "My frost magic doesss not work against the undead. I shall attack the Red Scorpian from the back row with my frost magic." As Sarick charged his magical energy his mind flashed back to his home. Even under the waves the undead were a menace. His hatred for them burned brightly. He recalled how the warriors of his tribe had non magical weapons and how they had no effect against the undead. When the dead swam the clerics were called forward to use their healing arts. Sarick had changed his mind. "Cancel that, I shall attack the Bearded Skeleton from the back row with my healing staff."

Sarick glanced at the scene before him. He could barely make out a skeletal figure. Seeing the bones meant the person or thing had long since passed, so Sarick was not in a hurry. He began carefully removing the boulders and debris that were covering the skeleton. When Sarick threw a rock over his shoulder he clipped his hood which fell back onto his shoulders, revealing his hair once again for all to see. Sarick didn't even notice, so simple minded was his task. He instinctively brushed the hair out of his face that got into his eyes.

Sarick ran his hands through his long flowing new found hair. It felt heavy and now his head was warm. He preferred the cool breezes he could feel on his scaly scalp than this heavy hair. Sarick quickly shoved the hair into his hood. "I would like the Mockthril Staff. Othersss have shown interest in the shovel and pickaxe so I will not cast my vote for either one of those items. I'll be at the entrance of the alcove looking out for danger...and trying to figure out what to do with this hair." OOC: It will be awhile before I'm back at my place and can update my image, but the update is coming.

"I agree, exploring the alcove would be ideal. Don't want something sneaking up on usss from behind. Before Sarick entered the alcove, he decided to brush some dust from his scalp with the magic hairbrush.

Sarick still had icicles on his palm from finishing off the dog. "Thank you for the Phoenix Essence Nerwen." Sarick made sure his dagger was still in his belt, placed the Phoenix Essence into his pocket and gripped his staff firmly. Sarick was checking on the baby dragon to see if there was any response when Dak made his outburst. "Dak, your eyesss are leaking. Is all well?"

The vibrations of the healing staff were too much for Sarick's hands to hold. During his swing the staff leapt from his hand in its excitement of the battle. He quickly grabbed it with his tail and checked on Nerwen. "She is fine, just unconsciousss. I could use a Phoenix Essence right about now. The dog is barely holding on. Lets finish thisss. Knifk is using his shield to protect our next attack so lets go all out! I shall attack Gorg from the front row with my healing staff. I suggest the following order of attack." Battle Order: Sarick - Gorg Knifk - Mongrel Dog Guts - Mongrel Dog Gorg - Mongrel Dog "Dak, we should be able to take down this feral dog so I suggest you take no action for now."

Sarick unleashed the full furry of his frost magic. It felt good to finally feel the magic coursing through his veins. To unleash the power pent up inside of him was invigorating. But it wasn't a completely joyous occasion. Sarick could hear the death crys of the reptiles and it pained him deeply. He could tell there was something wrong with them, but his team was more important right now. "I shall attack Nerwen with my Healing Staff from the back row." OOC: I believe when a mage or cleric use their shield ability they also don't use up any ether, so I should be at 7/7 ether. If I am wrong, someone let me know.

Sarick wishes he could speak to his distant reptilian relatives, especially the baby dragon. It would make a powerful ally. "Reptilesss do not like the cold so I shall attack the red snake from the back row with my frost magic."

Sarick tastes the air in the mine before saying, "I think we should go right. Bessst not to go too deep down into the mine before checking out the higher ground."

Sarick noticed Dak concentrating on the guards. He was up to something so Sarick decided to distract them further. "If you fine gentleman have a piece of paper and a pen, I will write, and sign for you, our sworn statement." "I wasss also wondering Captain Hlin Horrkkba of the Ve'er Town Watch how someone as dashing as yourself has kept your guards in such good shape? They responded quickly to the false accusations of Artie and Bert."

Sarick whispers to Nerwen, "I definitely need that heal now." Sarick then turns his attention back to the town guard. "Gentleman, we asked the two individualsss questions about the mine. They actually attacked us. I believe it was due to the trauma they sufferred while in the mine. We defended ourselvesss and do not hold a grudge. There is no need to press charges against Bert and Artie."

Sarick coiled himself near the window, keeping a look out for trouble while the others held conversations with the patrons. When Nerwen asked her question Sarick responded, "I have no need to return to the shop but would appreciate a heal before heading down into the mine."

Sarick was annoyed. His second battle fought and yet he still did not get to unleash his magic. He was also baffeled. How could such a weak thug do so much damage to him when he stood farther back than his companions? Sarick would make sure to unleash much magical fury in his next encounter. OOC: If the thugs were level 4 and hit for 4 damage, shouldn't I have taken 2 damage since I stood in the back row?
