  1. Guts fishes the coin out of the beggar's cup and returns it to his pockets. "Alright mate. You know we're not going to move, we've figured out you're not a real beggar, now what."
  2. Calamity signs up for Quests 131 and 132. "Might as well. Hm, maybe I should talk like this from now on to avoid confusion with others?"
  3. And everyone (me included) thought it would make Guts weaker, the switch from Raider to Alchemist... Don't say that too loudly or I'll find a way to switch to your class.
  4. "So you do know it."
  5. Calamity (Scubacarrot) 24 year old human Mage Level 11 Power bonus: 2 (spell) Health: 15/15 Ether: 14/15 Gold: 216 Equipment: Renegade’s Crook (WP: 10, successful healing also poisons the target’s weapon by 3, staff), Gold skin Gloves (Spell power +2, Usable by mages, Handwear), Focus Sash (Gains +2 Defense for every successful hit, resets to zero when hit or when the battle ends, accessory, suitable for babarians, mages, chi monks, dragoons, harlots, infiltrators, marauders, regulators, vindicators, and winged warriors, and paragons) Inventory: Bedroll, 6x Potion, 2x Tonic, 3x Remedy, Scroll of Blindness (Enables casting the Blinded-effect to the target, making it unable to use a physical attack for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether.), Amethyst, Skull-Topped Staff (WP: 3, staff), Crimson Haze (Causes a weapon to deal the poisoned by 7 and cursed effects permanently)
  6. "Blood. Could be anyone's. Enough things go down around here that this could be anything from a vampire dropping his midnight drink to a serial killer's victim's last struggle to someone walking into a door. But. Since we're having a ship that's not there AND blood on this dock, I'm guessing it's relevant."
  7. A new hero walks in the hall. She wears black robes, and wields a staff topped with a human skull. As she walks past towards the bar, she nods appreciatively at the decor, but can't help but comment. "Could do with some decorative blood splotches here and there, maybe a bone chandelier or two. Also, black drapes, get on that." And so, Calamity joined the ranks of Heroica.
  8. Guts rolls his eyes but plonks the coin into the cup anyways. "What are the Bonapartes guarding, anything in particular?" The Alchemist also checks out the red splotch that seems to be there on the docks.
  9. Guts holds a gold coin in front of the beggar's cup. "Seen the Magpie around, lately?"
  10. Guts walks up to the Questing board and raises an eyebrow when he sees all the chosen heroes, himself included. "That's a whole lot of 'heroes'." The Alchemist shrugs and walks off to make last minute preparations. At least the party would be led by a decent person, and almost all the heroes were people Guts had worked with before. This should be good.
  11. Sandy lists all of them with the heroes in the hall topic.
  12. In my opinion, that's not too important because a cleric or a druid, if you're talking proper healing, will always be healing way more than the 10 from the basic potion.
  13. Guts buys 1000 potions, for 2500 gold, using his Alchemist Gold Club Discount Card. 5362-2500=2862
  14. My potions will blot out your five and sixes.
  15. Possibly. Well done!
  16. "Sure." Guts hands over the two gems in exchange for the gold. "Pleasure doing business." "What are you so happy about?"
  17. "I think I'll stick with the Charissian, I could probably whip something up... But it might be slightly... explosive."
  18. You are finally standing before the doors of the final boss room. The journey has not been easy, you lost friends along the way, and your arms are heavy from holding off wave after wave of tough enemies. You know the final challenge may well be too much for your weakened group, but you have got to push on, if not you, who else will? You take a look in your bag for anything that could give you an edge, and see that you used up the last of your 200 potions. You curse under your breath. But then, you see a tiny vial with a red liquid. You don't know what it does, you just tucked it away for later, two years ago. You have got to try. It may kill you, it may kill your friends, but you have no choice. Do it for the children. That could be a right moment.
  19. "You are right. But I wonder what the name of that individual is." Guts smiled softly, and added: "Who makes the most difference, the monarch, or the assassin?"
  20. No idea. I assume you are referring to the item Guts has that gives that effect. I've been saving it for the right moment.
  21. Guts slowly shakes his head at Hybros, as to say he disapproved. "I hope you know what to do if it does come to conflict, if your people have been gone for so long, you are the link between them and the world as it is today." The Alchemist then shrugged. He takes a sip and says bitterly: "King. Yeah. I don't know. It's just that, but... Someone needs to clean up the mess. The Wolfgang is getting more and more powerful, nasty things are happening, but it may be too late to make a real difference. Months ago, we might have had a chance if we had acted, but now? What will the few heroes that would support me do to win over the Houses, the Gang or the People? I will never have the Heroica Veterans' support, I see that now, and the Houses just want to keep the world to be as it used to. No one important is going to support a coup made by a Strivvian exile."
  22. "Hybros. I don't know what to say. I'm so happy for you that you have found your people, I really am, but if I understand this correctly, you have brought a whole race, for all intents and purposes an army of angry little men like you, that are very pissed off at humans and other races, to Uland, where those people live. Are you sure this is the right? You even considering approving of this 'revenge' has me worried." Guts looks helplessly at Hybros, this could be bad. Very bad.
  23. Guts frowns. "So, your people, the imps, are here now, in our world?"
  24. "Yes, the ways of the alchemist are useful. Watch out for that green stuff they gave you, it tends to blow up. You found your people then? That's great, that's really great. Where were they, where did you find them?"
