Heroica RPG - Quest #26: Quarry Clean Up
Scubacarrot replied to Xarrzan's topic in The Heroica Archive
Guts sighed, They fought a giant spider, an angry dragon, and now they fought some kind of worms? This was a bad day. Guts ran in after his party leader and Hybros, his sword in hand. -
A suggestion that ties in with this: I would like to see added what quest something is from (artifacts).

Maybe it is an idea to have the QM's send you item lists, in similair fashion as Zepher does it?

"Very well, take your shares, let's go back to the quarry owner. But hold on..." Guts turns to the bard, and asks: "Bard, two questions: You know the outlay of the quarry, have we explored everywhere? And have you found what you are looking for?" -
Internet hug!

Ah ok, rereading it I may have taken it wrong . I proposed a new division.

"Barbarian, how about this? Guts: 300 gold, diamond Alf: 200 gold, scroll, dog thing Hybros, 250 gold, cat thing, Emerald Knifk: glove, 300 gold Elgar: 200 gold, sapphire, quiver" -
Seriously Bricksandparts? I mean, Seriously? You are accusing me of taking the best of the loot? Come on man. And your numbers are off, by the way. You have scrolls, staves and gems, so I assumed you wanted to become a shaman, as I believe you have said in the past. Since none of us can use it... You can of course keep it and sell it to Flipz. You can have the dog artifact if you want, just be clear about, give a new proposed loot division, and don't accuse me of stuff, not cool.

"DAMN it. His head was MINE, Mercutio's balls. Come back here, you cowardly dragon! I'll take you all on!" Guts took a smell pebble, and hurled at the flying dragons, of course not reaching the target. Turning to the party, he said: "I heard there is a group of heroes travellling to, or already in Dastan, I would give my left arm on this moment to be there. Believe me when I say, the next time I see that dragon, it will need more than a tiny bit of magic and some of his spawn to keep me from spilling his blood on the earth." Guts spit on the floor, ripped of some wrappings and applied them to his wounds and drank up the remaining wine from his wineskin, before turning to the items the dragon had left before them. "Right, I say we all get an equal share, and some of the items are arguably more valuable than others. Why don't we all give our preferences for the items, and I try to divide them as fair as possible? My personal preference is one of the statues and the diamond. Correct me if I am wrong, but are you not planning on becoming a shaman, Johon? if so, Maybe you would like the scroll? The quiver is suited best for Elgar, I feel. And the gloves would be in the best hands, hehe sorry for that, of Knifk." -
Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?

Right, because people have a different opinion on what they want, they are stupid . -
Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?

Short awnser: No. My reasoning is this: (most) Lego fans don't buy everything of Lego, and Fans from things that would be licensed, don't buy all the merch. It is a given that a (rather large) percentage of the people who vote for any project won't buy the the final product. I voted for the Western Modular for example, but if it reaches 10.000, gets accepted, and the final product turns out to be something I don't like, or if i don't agree with the pricing, I won't buy it. There can also be of course be other reasons for not buying the final products, and no one can blame you for that. I think it is wrong to think that voting for a product means: I will buy this if it gets accepted. I rather think it means this: I will CONSIDER buying it if it gets accepted. It is an important difference, and I think you need to consider the main reason someone votes for any product, which is: I want to see this made. A big problem is that since Lego does what they want for the final product, it is hard to really say you will buy it or not, I think a lot of the people that voted for the Minecraft project are just not going to care about a 40 euro set that is not remniscent of the game itself, or looks good as a collectible of sorts... And for your information, 5.5 million people bought the game, so yes, there are people that play it, I would think. The comparison with the car does not make ANY sense to me, by the way, perhaps you can explain? -

You are not directly responding to what I'm saying, I very much realize what you are saying, of course it reached 10.000 votes because of the publicity, and so did Minecraft and the Rifter. But I don't agree with you saying the source material is inappropriate. Who says it is inappropriate for a Lego Product? TLG, why? Because they are afraid it will cause negative publicity for them, by certain people that will make a fuss. -

Those people would be the same people that would have problems with Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings etc if they have seen the movies. There is ALWAYS going to be someone with a problem. I don't see why this would be something that is "too offensive." -

"Hmpf, it works slightly different than i thought, I will change my attack to the Shield! Hybros, keep your first attack on the dragon, the second to the shield, alright?" Guts and Knifk switch their attacks to the shield, still from the front row. -

Zelda: For me highly unlikely, Nintendo is not known for being generous with licenses. It could be possible, since there is also Mario Knex, but I think negotiations would be longer than a few weeks. There also is no game coming out any time soon to tie it in to. I would be one of the people to buy it, but I don't realistically see Lego going through with it. My Little Pony: Not going to happen, Don't think Lego needs Cuusoo to know that MLP is populair on the internet, and Hasbro, the producers AND makes toys for it themselves. I don't think Hasbro would do anything like this... BTTF: I don't know, to be honest. It depends on how large the fanbase currently is, I am not optimistic about this one because it has been 22 years since the last movie came out, but that could also just mean the license could be considerably cheaper than the others that are mentioned. I really think licensing costs are a massive obstacle, I think the Minecraft license could be gotten without much problems because there was nothing similair around for Minecraft... -

Ooc: For that to happen 4 of us (5 if you count Hybros twice) would need to be extremely unlucky (do less than 100 damage combined, we have the luck song, so yeah, don't worry so much -

Guts looked confused, realized that this man probably had seen few battles in his time, and then replied. "We ARE targetting it, That shield will only take a couple of hits, it will be fine, now, get in there, swing your sword at it, or something." -
I don't see the problem, if the battles are adjusted for that

Done, Bit weird, that they wanted to know the names of other communities I have been a part of, and was it just me or is the difference between 1-3 times a month and multiple times per week quite large?

I did not say violence, did I? I said Offensive/Violence, but meant offensive, but for some reason, they mean the same thing to some people. Yes, there is no way denying that the movie is full of (cartoony) violence. But is that really a thing that will scare children? I don't think so. When I was talking about more offensive things, I was thinking about the including of Nazi's in indiana Jones(Which Lego added in the sets, the gore of sotd certainly would not be...), the strangling and burning of people in Lord of the Rings. I am certainly an adult, and I have the right to disagree, haven't I? On a slightly different note, if we are arguing about 6-11 year olds, they should of course probably not see the movie, but neither should they see Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Batman etc.
