  1. Oh, I think we should be terrified. No, don't worry, they will use the other half of the cutoff cape to finally give us back our waist capes for the Clones! How they still use regular legs instead of slop pieces for the cloaked up Royal Guard is beyond me.
  2. It's so funny to me that the BS system is only gonna launch in half a dozen countries. And even though I'm among them, I dearly wished I wasn't. Another point that I wanted to touch on is the optional nature of these compatible sets. How optional is it really when the design of the actual sets are so very clearly impacted for the worse by BS integration? Would it make any sense to buy a, say, BS Cantina without also getting the required tech (the brick, tags, charging station and what have you), to get the little usage it actually does provide out of it? It may be "optional", but I ain't see that it's feasible this way. And to add insult to injury, are we to assume that these compatible sets would be even more expensive, if they included All-In-One?
  3. I sometimes wonder whether the Lego designer, free of all the PR language he or she is supposed to speak on camera, is as concerned or even frustrated about certain compromises as some of us fans are. After all, many of them are fans as well, which is why they got into this job in the first place. Emphasis is on "such a cheap set". I obviously thought about the V-19 as well. Given that it's on my personal wishlist for later this month, I actually think about it all the time. But it also is over double the price compared to the new Delta 7-B. Though there are more than enough other sets that support three figures. Anyways, Anakin getting the General Kenobi treatment would be the next logical step for Lego to keep on adding arm printing to main characters. In terms of chances for a third figure, preferably Dooku, I'd say it's at least more likely than the Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake getting a fourth one. I was looking at the last Count Dooku minifigure on Brickset the other day and I don't see a terrible amount of needed changes either. Hairpiece would be the same, dito for the face or something very similar, a slightly refined torso and maybe some slight leg printing. His special lightsaber hilt is indeed the tricky part. For the longest time I believed this to be the reason Lego don't want to release him anymore. But then they brought back the long ones from Ventress out of nowhere. So anything is possible, I suppose. Though I will be gladly counting the Count to my collection regardless of choice. That might not have always been the plan, but yeah... that's what ultimately happened and made me pretty happy. Still does whenever I grab this figure to look at the magnificent mould.
  4. Well yeah, it's gotta be the biggest budget, alright... they clearly need it. Even then it sounds crazy to me when you see how many compromises are still being made for the most expensive stuff. If the upcoming Starfighter is indeed including a third figure, it hopefully is Count Dooku. But I kinda doubt Lego would put two desirable main characters in such a cheap set, but we'll see. Do you reckon potential arm printing for General Skywalker is enough of a deal breaker in regards to an additional minifigure? Yeah... all these additional formats, 18+ or not, remain pretty worrisome for me. I usually try to take that bad faith and convert it into positive energy, like it gives me all the more reason to enjoy some of the areas where Lego is putting out good things. For instance, five freaking buildable characters did not prevent me from celebrating Plo Koon last year.
  5. Oh, I know that feeling all too well. Always nice to see some fresh new faces around here. We definitely do. @CloneCommando99, the relentless leader of our noble crusade, will lead us all to victory... eventually. Yes, that holds true for both desirable minifigures as well as long requested set remakes. Of course, like you said, there is still much to be done, but they're heading in the right direction. It's just gonna take time to fill even more of the obvious gaps. =)
  6. Well, if it meant getting more Padmé Bigfoot Amidala minifigures, I'd be up for some good old comedy gold. But let's face it... this won't be happening. Would be surprised enough about a regular fourth figure inclusion as it is. Ha, I think you have a pretty good idea of what I was talking about. And no, I'd rather this one stayed as an, uh, incredibly interesting insider.
  7. Yep, it's somewhere in between. Is it because Star Wars designers were always used to introduce new moulds given it's varied source material? Like I don't know any other licensed theme having them present this prominently. Okay, I'm going for the safe instead of the shelf, then. The sudden appearance of Ventress, an arguably less important character, made me really confident that Dooku gotta be close to re-release as well. Still sticking with my prediction for this year... if not it's gonna be next year. As you also mentioned before with the interview, Lego is at least aware of the fan demand. Yeah, the Clone Extravaganza, as overkill as it is, has also brought us many very good comeback characters and newcomers. I could criticize Lego all day long for certain design decisions, but I'm no member in the doom and gloom camp regarding the Lego Star Wars theme as a whole being on it's last legs or something. As far as I'm concerned, we still get far too many good things out of it for that to be true. Why wouldn't anyone want a Pyjama Padmé? Lego unleashing a Padmé fig (that sounds interesting in german) equals a Bigfoot moment. So I would gladly take every Amidala they have in store for us. Though I'm aware this is probably less about what we would want to see, but Lego deciding what's, uh, suitable for their younger audience. But if you can get Slave Leia in 2024 (UCS I know, I know), you can get PP in 2026. Like mother, like daughter, so to speak. Ha, I would take that Sleazebaggano off their hands in a heartbeat. And he at least appeared in the scene right after. Rather than just being located on the same planet. But yeah, speaking of suitable again, given his, uh, sticky background, he will probably never make into an official Lego set. Though I think Lego definitely did worse ones already, but those were more crucial characters that you just can't leave out. Only Jedi Bob comes to mind. But I suppose he doesn't really count. As he's more of a non-canon folktale, urban legend kinda dude.
  8. Yes, exactly. I'm not saying a fourth figure is next to impossible, it definitely isn't, just... unlikely in my book. If they can pleasantly surprise us, that's even better. Let's just say I won't be shocked or disappointed if they don't do something more than the bare minimum in the minifigure department. I just want the two ship designs to be appropriately detailed, modernized and clean looking, same goes for the three guaranteed figures. Chances are, they won't do a Zam Wesell ever again. At least not for the foreseeable future. So they need to ensure, with the exception of arm printing, it looks as good as it can be. And you are right about the helmet mould. Other recent releases got costly moulds too. That won't be the deciding factor regarding the toal amount of minifigs included in the set. So no, it's not a valid reason against another figure. Not that I intended to convey this message, but I may have overestimated it's value. Yeah, I was making a Flickr account last year to post one unfunny meme at the harmless expense of another user in here. Will try out your personal image hosting site soon. I would like to add Ventress to the list. Suffice to say, there wasn't exactly a shortage of finally released or re-released characters in the past few years. While I would love the more obscure Jedi like the Parasaurolophus one to come back as well, specific ones like that hardly speak against the ongoing direction. Need to cut Lego some slack there. Yeah, in this regard, Lego does more than they have to do. Still probably not nearly as much as we want them to do, but honestly... it could be much worse. Okay, that's good to know. While I would prefer to post certain images directly from my mobile device for convenience sake, it can't be that much of a hassle to do so via reliable image hosts. Just need to take a closer look at it. Thank you for stepping in on the matter.
  9. Yeah, that's where I am at this too. Though I wouldn't outright define it as crazy in terms of getting a fourth figure, it definitely isn't something to be expected. And I would be pleasantly surprised if it happens. Hmm... That every so often is and isn't the case. In my personal experience, it's more about solidly executed sets in practice, but badly priced sets on paper. Besides the pricing which I already alluded to, what could they possibly screw up in such a set? It's been 24 years since the original and a lot has happened since then. And that should be visible when it comes to clearly improved builds. We just got Plo Koon and General Kenobi, though. In regards to getting long lost Jedi minifigures, Lego is clearly making moves forwards. Although not as obscure as background characters, I would add Taun We and Lama Su into the mix. While you can obviously always wish for certain characters to show up again or at all, the last couple of years we got plenty of either never before done or long overdue remade minifigures.
  10. In this day and age, given the amount of similar priced sets that only include three minifigures, I definitely would be surprised about a 4th figure. And regardless of how nice or even justified I think it would be, I don't think there will be. The ludicriously long overdue Zam Wesell minifig will be the main attraction and enough of an selling point for many collectors out there. So I don't see why Lego would go "the extra mile" so to speak and include an additional desirable character. Oh no... I know you are not supposed to shoot the messenger, but why did you have to say that? To say, my hype is now killed in an instant, would be an overstatement. But to say it didn't affect my excitement, would be a straight up lie. It better be exactly what we all expect it to be, or else! Hence why it ~99% won't happen. Realistically speaking, everyone you just listed except Jango. Yep, exactly. We also need to consider Lego will be investing in an expensive brand new helmet mould for Zam. So I further lack any fantasy on why they would put a "bonus figure" in there as well. Ha, I actually thought of that, you know. But first and foremost, I need to get it. And second, I would need to figure out how I can get images in here without any complications. So far, as a phone user, I had some trouble working with the size limit of any given picture.
  11. 15 days until I will admire the most beautiful boyo Bane there ever has been and quite possibly ever will be... happily.
  12. You got me. I will be the first proud Lego Star Wars owner commanding a fleet of space jetskis. Yeah, that's true. Oh, you are right, that's even more crazy then! I just remembered the set being raised from 30 to 35€ shortly before it even released. Somehow thought it was the same for America, but it actually was unaffected. You every so often see it vice versa nowadays. Cobb Vanth's Speeder is a good example of that. Which also only includes two, albeit stellar, minifigures. Though I guess that doesn't really compare to one minifig and a droid, so yeah... it might include two regular minifigs besides your obvious R2. Top priority for me is the arm printed General Skywalker minifig, though. If they do that, I wouldn't mind the lack of another figure all that much. It truly is beyond aid already. I usually don't hope for someone or something to fail, but this BS system is a very strong contender. The only positive thing I can say about it is the box art... and the now spinnable R2 head is neat, I guess.
  13. So the three initially revealed BS sets are now available for pre-order on the Disney/Lego Shop and Amazon. Turns out the X-Wing is gonna retail at only 90€. Well, this changes absolutely everything. Time to get that sucker immediately. Also, since we talked about this @Mandalorianknight, there actually will be an Assist App to take advantage of more of the action, because of course there will be. I don't know if it's an "officially used term" yet by the community. I just made that one up. The "Tiny Tank" obviously exists since the leaks. In any case, it should be used to describe sets where they just went too far with the downsizing. And thus, makes it a erigiously overpriced product in the first place.
  14. By the maker, I can't stress enough how painfully Lego accurate this one sounds. From the piece count, to the price point to it being potentially Tiny Turbo-tanked and infused with some terrible usage of technology, you've set in motion our worst nightmares now. Well, isn't that quite the upgrade compared to last year? To be fair, it could almost only go up for you at this point. Let's just see how this all plays out. =)
  15. Enough said. So, although not for me, I got two very reasonable deals on the 327th and newly released Siege of Mandalore Battle Pack. Can't say seeing everything in person rekindled my interest for the format being based on Clones, though. New legion is fine, the recycled one I can totally do without. The side builds are genuinely great, though. But yeah... I look at that stuff and think to myself "yeah, how about I wait another six months while I get the more excited sets in the meantime". This would be unheard of whenever a new BP released before, but reaches common ground for me by the day. In any case, I assume I'm now officially part of the problem. Thought this was never about not buying them at all, but about waiting for the right price. And as far as I'm concerned, the ongoing wait to be appropriately excited.
  16. Yeah, and we are yet to see whether this supposed course-correcting for Starfighters means we are back to two figures or not. I don't see them putting a desirable minifigure like Count Dooku in such a cheap set, but Lego is sorta unpredictable in that regard. I mean, they go through the trouble of making a brand new mould for a background character like Taun We and put her in a $35 Starfighter. In the next year, you only got Yoda and R2 in a similar build for the same price like nothing changed at all. In 2024 they released a slightly beefed up $40 Starfighter with two minifigs and a droid where you just assumed it was Jedi Bob tax. Last year, oh no it wasn't Bob tax after all, we are now at $45 for again two figs plus a droid and, like you said, a detailed, but still compact Starfighter. While the price gouging is sickening, the minifigure line-ups could be at least a little more consistent. Regarding Anakin's specific version, who really knows, right? I don't recall that later version of Anakin in his early Starfighter either. But Lego works in some mighty mysterious ways sometimes. As good as they are listening to fan feedback, especially when it comes to bringing back heavily requested characters the last couple of years, I will never forget them putting the Mustafar Obi-Wan in the Grievous Starfighter set. Same could happen for the TCW Season 3 appearance of Anakin, but I'm cautiously optimistic for this one. Oh, thank you, Swordy guy. You are my one time anti-double-posting saviour.
  17. It should be, yeah. I know Ahsoka is. So Anakin is probably based on Season 3 as well. And yes, this is what I meant with "getting the General Kenobi treatment". It felt weirdly incomplete when they went all the way for Obi-Wan, while we only got a somewhat regular Anakin last year. Especially when you consider how overpriced that set truly was. But I am less worried about the arm printing and everything now. As getting much more detailed main characters in play sets is slowly but surely getting a thing for Lego. Just not too sure about a third figure in a supposedly $30 Jedi Starfighter. That would make sense. Since getting an Imperial Shuttle, Razor Crest, AT-AT, Sandcrawler and Ewok Village might be a bit overkill on the flagship side of things? Not that I would complain, though. And weirder things have certainly happened... They are in fact happening right now with all that BS.
  18. That's great, me too. In regards of Anakin's Jedi Starfighter containing three figures, let alone Count Dooku, I wouldn't be too sure about it. While there have been plenty of other Jedi Starfighters getting this exact treatment lately, these have been up to double the price of what this set is apparently gonna be. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it's just Anakin and R2 again. In any case, however, I do hope for him getting the General Kenobi treatment. Lego won't just recycle last year's Anakin figure from Ahsoka's Starfighter, would they? On another note, has anybody something to share regarding the last Lego Star Wars purchase in it's respective thread? I don't like doing double postings.
  19. Haha, this is what I would like to call an embarrassment of riches. Word. Can't wait for more concrete infos either, man. We will get our Count Dooku minifigure. In his life or the next. Hello there. Yes, of course. The only difference is that I can't remember the emotional contrast being ever this big. Awesome. You even seem to remember everyone's role; you keep track of that or something? Not yet. Three minifigs are reserved for all these $80 sets. But I wouldn't bet on Lego keeping it that way forever either.
  20. Well, the tech stored inside is one thing, what they use it for is obviously another. Independent on what I think on all this Smart Brick system, I do think whoever created this technology can be proud of himself. As a fan, however, I merely want to judge the actual execution. And as of right now, what they've done with it, is... not the very best thing they could have done or still do. Rudimentary is exactly the word I used to describe the sounds in private. And yes... if your own imagination, which you are supposed to use as a kid when playing with toys, is more appropriate than whatever they do, again, what's the point in any of that? And if I wanted a more authentic Star Wars accustic landscape, what's stopping anyone from launching sound effects, quotes and music from YouTube or something? I dunno, man... Might be getting up there slowly but surely as everyone else is, but I just don't get it at all. From now on, throughout the rest of it's hopefully short lifespan, I'm gonna pull a switcheroo on the SB and call it BS. You just unintentionally have inspired me to do so. So I gotta say, at least Lego did accommodate the amount of BS sets not to be at the expense of dumb Lego. Like we still get a fairly large summer wave worth of play sets. That's exactly what's been on my mind. If you go halfway, why not go all the way through? Don't even mind the 8-Bit version of the theme... it at least represents some recognizable Star Wars iconography!
  21. Yeah, it's alright. I like the fact that most of my english knowledge I basically taught myself through things I actually enjoy and want to experience, rather than school where everything is kept to generic homework and "fair" tests. You truly can learn something new every day... anywhere, anytime. Okay, that's good to know. My Bricklink experience is pretty much non existent. I only got my Bane last year and that's it. But yeah, it obviously wouldn't make sense for Lego to go this route instead of just selling the fig via new regular release. That's why I thought that they might be operating this way (). It's only a bad look for one party: Lego. We already figured it probably won't be executed well. And lo and behold, it isn't. Nothing you said was principiely wrong, Mando man. So you've got nothing to feel bad about or anything. That's something they should have taken heed of when creating the feature suite for the Cantina. If that's the best you can do, then maybe... don't do it all? Seriously... sigh. This can't be real now, can it? This might be one of the things where I won't really believe it until I see it. And the upcoming Hoth Echo Base. What a tragedy this one in particular is! The thing that honestly shocks me the most about the Smart Play stuff is the desasterous displayability. The lacking collectible and playable aspect I did expect to some extent. But it blows my mind to what lengths they went in terms of compromising the sets astehtics just for some crappy, anti Star Wars sounds.
  22. Haha, well yeah, that's the thing... What he represents as a character and what Lego does with it are two very different things. We shall never underestimate Lego's willingness to rehash certain stuff. I mean, did anybody really expected another Grogu-related set a couple of days ago? That we will have three of those things simultaneously on the market fairly soon? Yet here we are. At this point... everything is on the table. So no, we may all eat up these galactic Grogu socks (plus everything you just listed) and we will be happy. I just checked on the Magazine figure and didn't notice any off-coloured printing. It's really only the misleading advertisement regarding the helmet's visor.
  23. Yeah, I have a thing to two left for how I put some words to good use. I care for that in my mother tongue and I try to take over some of it to english language. Getting to know these insane collector's prices might be part of the reason why they keep artificially limiting certain characters? I don't know how much attention they are paying to their Bricklink business. To be fair, a brand new Lando just released in 2024, but I stand by my point... His Cloud City appearance I consider to be his most iconic outfit. And having no version of him available in any play scale sets since his modern makeover in 2018 is utterly... unsatisfying. Ha, you can't fool me for this one, Mando man... You are over the moon with this stuff. It's just you won't return to the our big blue planet after witnessing this mess. We need Lego to be smart about dumb Lego... not Lego being dumb about smart Lego! A surprise to be sure, but not a welcome one. Honestly, as far as deciding what you're dedicating your set slots to goes, this does feel like a new low point, doesn't it? This is unprecedented in terms of rasing your own reputation of repetition! What a rollercoaster ride this has been the past couple of days. We went from drastic doomsdays to we are so back to what the heck are they doing again in absolutely no time.
  24. Another something something Grogu something something?! You've got to be freaking kidding me! What's it gonna be this time... his new socks?! This kinda feels like new Luke's Landspeeder levels of low! I also have no faith the Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake is gonna end up retailing for $60. Though I would already be very happy if the euro price remains unchanged... just like Cobb Vanth's Speeder did.
  25. Everything X-Wing-related ever released, including the Advent Calendar micro-builds, looks better than this hunk of junk. They actually went through all that trouble making a whole new cockpit piece only for it to look like an vehicle that clearly belongs on the sea. Then you've got this unbelievably ugly gap to make up the required space for all this lame Smart Play nonsense. Don't get me started on all these red emergency bricks and handles. Next time, make it a big fat clown nose, it fould fit the entire vibe much better. R2-D2 looks like he's on sale for laughing out loud! When the best looking part are the shorty wings, from an design standpoint, you know you are in knee deep trouble. I may go out on a limb here, but combined with the terrible price point, this set truly feels to me like the worst Lego Star Wars deal since the First Order AT-ST!
