  1. I am waiting for the black pearl set and i am thinking "picture yourself a diorama with the black pearl fighting this east indiaman". I think that would look great.
  2. A couple of years I saw this flush brig sloop for the first time when I was trying to build a vessel in this style, which I never completed. No i see this one again after searching the internet for inspiration and I still love the design. But, I also see some, little, resemblance with the upcoming Black Pearl (ooh wait... Jack Sparrow's ship) set. I mean, supersick had already the idea to split the design for on the shelf and the possibility to pose it as it is in the water. Something I really like with the upcoming Lego set.
  3. Thank you very much. It is based on the Durmstrang from last year. Offcourse, the Durmstrang is a carrack so it has a high for and aft castel. I lowered that, make it longer and wider so it looks as flush as possible. First the plan was to build a sloop with one mast but the lines where so clean and the ship looks longer than it is, so I decided to add a extra mast. I like the La Grace and that's the ship I loosely based it on. Maybe I going to change it to a snow brig but I am not sure at this moment.
  4. Privateer brig Scepter. Last year Lego presented the Harry Potter tournament set (76440) with the Durmstrang ship. I found that ship beautiful but a little small so I decided to build a brig based on the same ship body design and named it the "Scepter" because the figurehead has a staff with snake head in her hands. It's build as a little brig without a cabin or interior. For defense it has 6 little cannons, 2 on each side and 2 in the back. The vessel relies heavy on its speed and maneuverability.
  5. It's very recognizable as the black pearl so you did a very good job. I hope the upcoming Lego set is worth it.
  6. This ship looks amazing. I've got a lot of Prins Willem (name on the ship "Prins Willim", there wasn't enough space to spell it correctly) vibes, a Dutch ship from the VOC build in 1650 and used to 1662. It's in the same style as the well known Batavia (build in 1628) but bigger. It's a nice basis to build de zeven provinciën, the ship from Michiel de Ruyter, build a couple of years later with a extra gun deck, so maybe I am going to steal some ideas from your ship when I finish my current project.
  7. Very nice progression!
  8. I think we can replace the Dutch test with an English one. But, mate, you have built a beautiful ship! We need more pictures! Greetings from another Dutchie
  9. I really love this kind of small vessels. Always trying to understand how life would be that time on real boats and ships. It must be beautiful and scary at the same time. Nice job sir Knight.
  10. Do you have pictures of the Geisha?
  11. Good day sir, Your Scalawag Sloop is beautiful, so is this little boat. As already said in this topic, a tiller and hatch would be nice additions to the ship. A small rudder isn't necessary but, if you can make it work, would be looking cool and a little more realistic. Nice job!
  12. Thank you Sebeus, you are one of the builders that give me a lot of inspiration. The boat, it has no name yet, is almost finished. I was indeed searching for a way to embed the pictures so thanks for your advice. Thank you very much. Thank you very much, I am searching for a way to make an interior but I am afraid that I don't have enough space to make it work. This is the inside of the build at the moment.
  13. Hello all, I am new at this forum and want to share with you a work in progress. I build this little sloop at the base of the Durham ship from the Harry Potter set with sails from that same set and the barracuda bay. For years I've been trying to build a bigger ship like the barracuda brig from Supersick, but I never succeeded. But with the base of the Durham ship from Lego I am happy with the result so far. I hope you like it also. When the project is completely finished I will share better photos with you all. First attempt for a swivel gun. Don't really like it so any advice is welcome.
