  1. An old Batman film. 😝 I do actually have some doubts that The Batman II will get a full wave, I saw a lot of the sets from the first movie on Eternals-level clearance, which is pretty uncommon for sets in Australia
  2. Best Set: 77073 Fortnite Battle Bus - I haven't played all that much Fortnite but this was pretty much the perfect set to represent the game, and it gets major points for knowing its target audience and sticking to a reasonable price point while still having a solid minifig selection Best D2C: 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter - Not sure if this is actually a D2C since I've seen other stores carrying it, but it's a black-box 'Icons' set so I might as well count it Best Set under £50: 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV - A solid interior-based set that easily allows for connectivity if you buy multiples, plus it hits my nostalgia for the first level of Lego Star Wars II Best Theme: Animal Crossing - just kind of a simple theme with unique minifigs and an overall charming vibe, it feels like what the Mario theme should have been Best Minifigure: Lisan al Gaib - the figure in my pfp, which is basically Paul Atreides' head + the stillsuit and cape from Liet-Kynes
  3. Does anyone in Australia know if the Fortnite sets are exclusive to the Lego store or will they show up in stores like Big W or Kmart in a couple of months?
  4. Michael Morbius Milo Morbius Bix Caleen-Morbius Eddie Brock Venom Mrs. Chen Carnage Madame Web Sydney Sweeney or something (idk i never watched the movie) Kraven Hypno-Hustler El Muerto Does Oscorp have a definitive look in the comics? It seems like the most well-known visuals come from the TASM movies or the PS4/5 games, and I can't see them going all-in on a massive set based on those.
  5. Considering all the details of leaks that got lost in translation recently, I'm half expecting it to be based on Sony's "Spider-Man" Universe bring on El Muerto
  6. Maybe the reason we aren't getting any Thunderbolts sets to coincide with the movie's release is due to Marvel holding back info about the plot and the villain, it's possible they don't want details regarding 'Bob' getting spoiled through merchandise. Hopefully they'll make some sets after the movie has been out for a while, like they did with No Way Home.
  7. Guys! Today I watch LIVE-ACTION movie Twilight (Apple TV) now I find out we are getting Robert Paddington house as a BIG lego set for adults... ouuhh boy... I hope every1 here understand potential as DC subtheme (Edward=Bruce Wayne) Should be full theme (polybags, minifigure scale, ART and so on) BUT TLG hates DC so... :/ We must collect money to buy this set... then Lego makes more... why no baseball set? Lego thinks this image is NOT COOL? No license? <3
  8. I'm half expecting Lego to throw the new Superman fig into a polybag and slap the movie logo on it, similar to what they did with Shazam, idk if that would fulfil the license requirement Pretty disappointing if those are the only sets were getting this year though (does Lego hate DC?). If the new universe properly gets off the ground and we start getting tie-in sets, I'm sure that Superman and a lot of the other characters would show up in sequels/spinoffs and eventually get made in minifig form.
  9. He says it was planned for the 20th Anniversary, so it would have been around 2019 Those types of small scene-based sets like Duel on Naboo are some of my favourites, it's a shame they've been moving away from those in the past few years.
  10. Using the Age of Ultron suit instead of the Mark 42 for an Iron Man 3-inspired set is a super disappointing choice. It seems like a lot of text-based set leaks recently have had details that get lost in translation or end up being slightly wrong, which does make me lean more towards thinking the Fantastic Four set will turn out to be based on the movie.
  11. HD pics of some of the new sets are up on the Australian Lego Store site, the new Red Hulk could easily work for both the movie and comic versions I wouldn't expect anything from the Daredevil series or Marvel Zombies since they're both TV-MA. The best chance of getting Daredevil would be if he has a decent sized role in a PG-13 show or movie. Towards the end of that sizzle reel video, Kingpin is wearing a suit that's damn near identical to the Mr. Knight CMF though, might be worth picking one up if you wanted to throw together a purist custom fig.
  12. It may be a stretch to call them figures, but Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty showed up as printed tiles in the Maleficent dragon set from this year
  13. Wouldn't mind getting a new Dumbledore based on Michael Gambon, I think the year 1/2 versions of a lot of these characters are a little overrepresented in Lego compared to their later appearances
  14. That comic Iron Man is one of my favourite Marvel figs, glad he has a new helmet to match the version of War Machine that's out now, although I kinda resent the fact that Lego will make these peak designs and only use them in mechs or 4+ sets. I think the biggest disappointment people have is the lack of characters like Hawkeye, Rhodey, or a regular-sized Ant-Man. Definitely appreciate their approach to striking a balance between playsets and dioramas though, I'm hoping to see a lot more with this same concept
  15. The Tumbler uses a pic of Bale's Batman and the 4+ set uses a comic Batman, same as this one:
  16. There are a couple choices with the Superman fig that look a little off, so I'll probably stick with my 2018+2020 versions of him and Lex, but overall I'm glad that we're dipping into non-Batman stuff. I'm also pretty glad that fabric capes are still being used, the pictures of Superman minifigs using Thor's new rubber cape honestly kinda gave off dictator vibes.
  17. They could do force ghosts similarly to this Harry Potter one, just a normal fig in different shades of blue - Right now the most likely place they would show up is a large-scale Ewok Village, but that might change with the potential second season of Ahsoka or maybe Kenobi.
  18. I'd take a buildable Ewok over the third or fourth Venomized Baby Yoda or whatever the hell they're doing (gimme a 1:1 buildable Babu Frik tho)
  19. I lean a bit more towards DC since their heroes are a bit more 'classic' and I've found their comics a bit easier to jump into, and I've found that too many of the MCU heroes end up being government/military/spec ops guys. (I do enjoy a secret identity) But overall I like plenty of stuff from both, and since a lot of creatives end up working for both companies, it wouldn't be worthwhile to limit yourself to just one. @RiddlerDC I think you should give the Daredevil tv series a shot, it may be right up your alley. And then join the Marvel thread to lament the lack of sets. The Batman was PG-13 while the Penguin is TV-MA, Lego has a rule against adapting stuff above a certain age rating. If you wanted minifigs from the show, fortunately most of the characters like Sofia are normal looking people and so wouldn't be too hard to cobble together. (or is it Cobb together now?)
  20. Looks like we know the outcome of the Superman Mech vs. Lex Battle:
  21. Hadn't heard of 5e before, I'm not really a D&D player, I just liked the way they approached the cmf series with the bonus heads. And yeah, I'm thinking armour + shoulder insignia for the Jedi Knight, I largely had Jaro Tapal's design in mind
  22. Here's my pitch for a Star Wars CMF, largely inspired by the customisation potential of the D&D Series, most of these would include multiple head pieces. Trying to hit all the iconic visuals of Star Wars without using any main characters, the idea would be that you could get duplicates of each and swap them around to fill out your universe. Rebel/Resistance Agent (Human Male + Female): Blaster, BB Unit ISB Officer (Human Male + Female): Datapad, Interrogation droid Jedi Knight (Lasat + Quarren): Jedi Holocron, Lightsaber w/ blue + yellow blades Jedi Apprentice (Human Male + Female): Jedi Texts, Lightsaber w/ green + purple blades Adventurer (Pantoran Male + Female): BD Unit, satchel, binoculars Outlaw (Twi'lek Male + Female): Camtono, blaster. Sabacc card Nightsister (Dathomiri Female): Green flames, bow & arrow, dagger Sith Warrior (Pau'an + Duros Males): Sith Holocron, Lightsaber Senator (Neimoidian + Bothan): Drink, Holoprojector (translucent microfig) Pilot (Rodian + Nautolan): Cargo crate, small Anzellan piece (think Baby Groot) Mandalorian (Male + Female): Blaster, jetpack, thermal detonator Clone Cadet - Red Kamino fatigues: 3 or 4 hair pieces, blaster
  23. DC definitely needs a new team-up cartoon like that to introduce younger audiences to these characters and the wider DC universe, stuff like Caped Crusader is in a weird place where it's technically for kids but it seems like the only people who care are 30+ year olds who grew up with the DCAU stuff. Not sure how My Adventures with Superman is doing, I haven't seen much talk about it outside of the initial week it premiered. He kind of missed the point of the Riddler if he's not even going to switch up his writing style to cover his tracks. -- Also, here's my pitch for a set, since Lego likes cars so much:
  24. Lego Shrek would absolutely make a killing with Gen Z, fingers crossed for something when the fifth movie comes out in 2026
  25. I'd like to see more "battlebags" honestly, ideally with classic comic designs, in 2021 they casually dropped one of the best Batman minifigs of all time and just never used it again. That torso/leg combo + the older cowl piece is peak Lego Batman imo @RiddlerDC can I get an "ouhhh boy"?
