LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GreenhouseBricker replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The 2025 Blacktron Renegade 10355 Retirement date has been moved up. It looks like the original assumed date was July 31 2026. It will now retire on December 31, 2025. This LEGO Exclusive set will only be on store shelves for 1 year. I wonder what caused them the retire it early? It could be poor sales or just LEGO is moving past their different space sub themed sets from 2024/35. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

Unfortunately, I really doubt we will get two Royals in the set. Based on the previous creator set and some previous castle sets its this is what I believe we will get. 2x Knights (1 from each faction) 2x supports/squires (1 from each faction) 1x unknown joust observer (could be a King/royal, or it could be a lord like the tax collector from the MTS) -

I agree, I believe it will be the Dragon Knights. I think It will pair well with the creator 3in1 Green Dragon. Maybe we will get another plain Majisto in the set as well. -

I think the Joust/Tournament could in part expand the Medieval Town Square with lots of villagers and little shops. I definitely would like to see another castle. However, I don't see LEGO releasing another large castle for another faction until the Lion Knights Castle retires. -

It almost 2025! What do you think is the most likely Castle set for this coming year? (assuming that we get a new set) Last year the Medieval Town Square was revealed to the LEGO fan media and they were able to start posing about it in early 2024. I am hoping we start to hear more information soon. My guess is that it will be some sort of medieval joust/tournament that will compliment the two other set we have. I'm hoping this set gives us new barding and the King of the Lion Knights. -

Unfortunately, the LEGO IDEAS Forest Base was Not Approved. I wonder if that means LEGO already has some more Castle sets in development. I know LEGO just announced some changes to IDEAS and the BDP that specifically asks fans not to submit ideas with faction names in the title. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f0a4d056-6b10-4993-aeec-8e16dded0c57/official_comments -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
GreenhouseBricker replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree, I think that's the logical next set. Lego could introduce the Lion Knight King to go along with the Queen and it would compliment the other two sets nicely. While I would want it to be a large 3000+ piece set like the other two, I think if would be good to have a mid size set of 1,000-2,000 pieces that is more accessible. A jousting set would be a great way to introduce younger and new LEGO fans to Castle. It would be a bit more focused on playability and minifigures. (not to say that the other sets don't have great playability but something more free-form) I imagine a small stands for the audience and king; some sort of jousting fence; some tents, vendors and equipment; and the different knights, horses, and barding. Hopefully priced <$200.00 -

I definitely would like all of these as official sets. However. I see a Kraken faction more as raiders and pillagers, and less likely to have a formal port set up. In my vison, they would base on Kraken Island inside of wrecked ships and reconfigured ships. There could certainly be a medieval port that they raid but they I see them more as a more organized wolf pack faction of the sea. They could even work hand in hand, trading with the wolf pack as their distant cousins from the sea. -

Would you want LEGO to do something new like a chevron knight? There are some pretty cool concepts from Brickstars. -

LEGO IDEAS just announced two new sets that have been reviewed and will be officially released. One of those sets is the Minifigure Prize Machine. In the blog post LEGO said: "In conjunction with approving this submission, we're excited that we'll be able to include a variety of fun Minifigures in this upcoming LEGO Ideas set. As a result, we'll be designing a few new Minifigures that will be included. BUT we will need your help to determine aspects of two of them. In the coming weeks, we'll therefore launch 2 separate fan votes where you'll get to vote for: 1) a new Classic Spaceman colour 2) a new Castle faction emblem" What factions are you voting for? https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/1d2fa9a9-b6a6-4521-921d-7567869881d9 -

Yeah I doubt they would make a mill or farm so close to the town square. I definitely agree, a small Wolfpack set is probably the most likely candidate to be released next. We already have the torso and it would be a very popular set or GWP. I know I would try to pick up a couple. -

What do you think will be the next official LEGO Castle set? (Not including the Bricklink designer program) Personally, I think it will be some sort of medieval joust set inspired by some of the previous tournament and joust sets LEGO has released over the years. However, one of the IDEAS sets that are now in review could be selected and released before then. -
Do you think the orange classic spaceman could be the new orange/red colour?

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
GreenhouseBricker replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like this concept of a renaissance fair. It would be really interesting to see how LEGO would do it and I’m sure we would get a ton of Case parts and printed pieces. I don’t care for the mini dolls but seeing some classic factions in that style would certainly be interesting. It may also help us get more variations of horses and barding. -

I would definitely prefer to have a stand alone theme or subtheme for Castle. Especially if it was Fantasy Era 2 because I grew up with Fantasy. Doing a new wave with trolls in the style of the series 24 CMF would be amazing. I have a small army of them already. However, I think it would be great if LEGO does a "Year of Castle" and introduced a new wave as well as using the banner across multiple themes. I can fortunately afford to get 1-2 expensive LEGO castle sets each year, but I know many other fans who can't. Having sets at different price points helps grow the community. It brings in new younger fans and allows AFOLs to army build and do more MOCs. I really like the 2024 City Space sets and am slowly collecting the whole wave. Don't get me wrong, I love the expensive Castle sets and Castle adjacent sets we have gotten over the past couple of years. I will get the Medieval Town Square in a few months when there is a good GWP or double points. But I think it is important to expand the audience. The DnD CMF will probably help with this but unless you are a dedicated fan of DnD or have the financial resources, new Castle fans and young fans will not be buying the Red Dragons Tale Set. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
GreenhouseBricker replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
There are definitely some challenges that a Castle banner would face in certain themes that Space does not. The modern/futuristic element of space allows it to fit into themes like City and Friends quite well. Then there's themes like Dreams that kind of do whatever they want. But Castle could potentially get its own Theme or Subtheme 'Classic Castle'. It could also be really interesting to see the banner extend to themes like Ninjago (LEGO Ninjas tie-in), Technic for siege engines, Architecture for real world Castles, Art for faction shields and coat of arms, Creator or Classic for freestyle castle building with lots of elements and parts, and obviously CMF. I think it is less likely to see it in City, but Friends might be a possibility. -

Thanks for the tip. I have edited the topic. -
As you know, LEGO has made 2024 the year of space; incorporating the ‘space’ banner across many established themes. If successful, this will hopefully bring in a new wave of space fans and satisfy some older fans of space and classic space. Is this something LEGO may attempt for other classic themes; specifically, Castle? It could be wishful thinking but I don’t think its impossible that 2025 or 2026 could be the year of Castle. Depending on the success of “Space 2024”, it could allow LEGO to be more flexible with its Castle banner and help satisfy multiple groups of LEGO fans while introducing a new generation to Castle. Spreading the banner of Castle across many themes would allow us to get more variety of pieces and prints. Themes such as CMF, ICONS, Creator, Friends, Duplo, City, Technic, Ninjago and maybe even introducing a new theme in the castle wave. I’m not sure how it would be executed but we can definitely take some cues from “Space 2024” for a theoretical “Castle 2025” What are your thoughts and do you think LEGO might go down this route in 2025 or 2026?

I might use the Medieval Blacksmith 21325 as the home for the wealthy Tax Collector. As a landlord, he leases the basement out to the blacksmith and his daughter to run their business. Then the forge heats the Tax Collector's house for free. The upstairs room in the Medieval Town Square 10332 can be a hideaway for the wolfpack while he's in town doing his nefarious business.

Ahh no worries, glad it helped.

Oh really? I haven't heard anything about it. I know there is a BrickLink Designer Program Forest Stronghold that will go on pre-order October 1st. It that what you are referring to? I will definitely try to get a copy of that set. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-3/1127/Forest-Stronghold That's fair, the Bricklink Forest Stronghold is a lot less busy looking. Does that interest you more or are they both in the MOC category.

This is a thread for the LEGO IDEAS project Forest Base by Iyan Ha. This project has reached the 10,000 supporter threshold for consideration. It is a gorgeous looking model and I think it has a decent shot at being selected for production. It feels like it fits really well with modern building building style and look of the recent castle set we have gotten. What are your thoughts on this set/model and do you think this set will be selected for production? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f0a4d056-6b10-4993-aeec-8e16dded0c57
