My closest Lego store is 10s of thousands of kilometres away, across an ocean too. Yeah, I think we need one in New Zealand, and a few in Australia. But that really is wishful thinking, isn't it? Another nice questionaire, although quite narrow questions. They were all either about BrickJournal, which I can't buy in New Zealand ( ) or they were just a few of the normal questions. Interesting...

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Dragonator replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Ah RoboCup, now that brings back memories. I remember competing in the 2005 games and winning the National Dance section, that was fun. I got a medal and everything! The two years following that though the best I could manage was second. I tell you, it was sabotage in 2006, sabotage! -

Totally, gnomes are way cool. I'd rather not eat them off the ground, thanks. -
Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11

Oh please, won't someone think of the children!?! What's that? Oh nothing, I'm just mumbling to myself. After we've finished checking out this switch, I think we should go north-east first, and force Howard to walk in front. I'm trying to figure out why he is so worried about going up that track... -
What a gross topic! My only experience of this was when I had my display in the garage. That was about three years ago I'd say, and I still can't forget the horrors I saw in there. I never knew there were so many different species of flying things with big hairy legs and wiggly eyes. They crawled over everything, and left horrid little marks. I'm still cleaning Lego from back then, I might add. Poor Hinckley, finding all that in your old creations. I certainly would have been freaking out. Hope your move is going well, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing pictures of your new set-up when you get there. I'm glad I don't have to contend with centipedes here in New Zealand, but we certainly get a lot of bugs, especially spiders and such. I'm still waiting for a Kiwi to come nesting though... I'm getting this very strong urge to go clean everything immediately.

At the moment I must admit that I am sorting in this way. As I'm doing a lot of castle building right now, I've sorted all my greys and other structural building pieces quite efficiently, making it very easy to find what I need. Everything else is still a bit of a mess. I think Dave raises a good point though that you can become set in your ways. I'm noticing the lack of interesting parts in my current build right now, so perhaps a bit of branching out is in order. As for myself, I use these wonderful boxes with removable compartments for my sorting, similar to the picture below, although not exactly the same: I know Will uses these to sort his BrickArms Merchandise. These are the cheapest and best solution I can find in New Zealand; the large drawer organisers aren't available here. Here's a question: How do you sort your minifigs? I know many people sort them by torsos and then heads, and then legs etc, but I rather like to keep my minifigs together rather than breaking them up.

I'll remember that for future reference. Nice MOC Black Rabbit, that's one very cool Mecha. Your use of parts is quite remarkable, giving a very nice shape. I'm loving how flexible it is, lots of potential for some great posing. Great presentation too, with nice, simple scenery that adds colour without drawing the eye away from the main creation. And of course, who wouldn't love seeing Hinck being beaten up. So cute.

Hey, nice work MrTools. I always like it when I see people building moving parts like this, very cool indeed. A simple yet very effective door design, while I gather that the gearing must have taken some work. It always takes me ages to work out the right gears to use.

Hurray for New Zealand!! Apart from that though, you've built a very nice train Sava. It certainly looks like the sort of crazy thing only New Zealand could think of buying. I'm surprised it could fit around some of the crazy curves we have here. Great to see an example of something we haven't seen before in Lego form, I know that train builders are always struggling to find new material these days. Good work, especially getting it so accurate to the original picture!

A very nice creation Sir J, I really admire your talent for creating organic forms out of the strangest of objects. A very nicely crafted scene, good work as usual.

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11
Dragonator replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I know itis comforting to hold on to a strong, young, handsome lad like me, but I won't be able to swing my sword if you keep holding on to my shoulder so tight. Oh wait, I left that at home... damn. Still, I'm starting to get a sore shoulder; you've got a very firm grip. His hand is probably the one on my thigh... -
I take it you like building armies, aye? Nice haul. Myself, all I've done is make a small BrickForge order to get hold of some of the new items they've just put out.

OMG, gimme gimme gimme!!! We go through bags of those at our monthly D&D meetings. I love those chocolate coated nuts so very, very much. Even better than plain nuts! ... I'd still like whoever it is that is touching me to please remove their hand... -

Let us go forth, into the Dungeon Dimensions! *a thunderous pipe organ is heard in the background, as well as a slightly late thunder crash* While we're waiting to go in, I don't suppose anyone thought to bring any food? Chef, you normally have a ready supply of grub, do you have anything? Even if it's just a packet of nuts or something? I love nuts. -

Monorail Emerald Night Train from Brickworld
Dragonator replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Train Tech
What a cute little monorail! Yeah, it was so worth waiting to get back so I could say that. Nice job CopMike on an absurdly interesting monorail train, I'm sure everyone must have loved it at BrickWorld. I really like how you managed to incorporate the same design and shape of the original loco into the very limited space of the monorail cars, that must have taken some effort! I can't belive you managed to get so many carriages on their as well, that motor must have been a pretty good one. From the video it looks like it could put on some good speed. The caboose was certainly a nice touch too. The Metroliner also looks fantastic, I have always loved that train. Very sleek design, especially the roof, and the coloured strips match up really nicely too. All in all, a brilliant effort I must say. -
Yesterday I bought 7078 King's Battle Chariot, 7079 Drawbridge Defence, and 7195 Ambush in Cairo. All really great sets, and the minifigs are outstanding!

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 11
Dragonator replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It's getting dark... we've just reached a spooky tunnel... we don't know what could be waiting.... Sounds like a D&D adventure plot to me! So, shall we go in? I'd like to look around the entrance here for any torches or any sign of someone else coming this way. -
Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10

Oh would somebody please just hurry up and grab whatever is under there!? I mean really! Gives Jethro a shove under the wagon. Now tell us if it is a Johnson Rod, quickly! -
Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10
Dragonator replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, my speciality isn't in the elven species, but for the common elf I would say a Level 4 Summoning Card would do it, along with the appropriate conditions, whether it be a Forest Terrain Card or a Displacement Materialization Card (Level 2). If you want the higher levels though, I'd say some sort of sacrifice would be in order, as well as some other special conditions. I can always do some research if you want... In other news, this forest is very creepy. I wonder what we will find? -
I would just like to add my own congratulations to all those that made it into this year's cycle, I look forward to what you will be able to accomplish together for the community, and wish you all the very best for your time as ambassadors. In particular I would like to congratulate CopMike for his re-election, I'm sure you will do us all proud once again, and maintain the high standard of your past year.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Dragonator replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
With all this excitement over these TradeMe finds, I thought it might be worth noting that danny36 is a Lego dealer based in Wellington, and will likely sell all those sets on later for profit, something I am very annoyed about. It would be nice if someone who actually wanted the set had a chance to grab it at that price...
