Well if the porsche hub is being used in the excavator the technic has entered the duplo era of technic no more cables no more gearbox just 1 technic dublo motor element inside of huge soap box like the 42100 this is so sad

And in case if you are wondering yes the gearbox needed a ton of tought process and thinking outside of the box and i builded this a few times the first attempt worked but the gears were all over the place and since i wanted to keep the gearbox swithing mechanism same as 8043 a lot of creative engineering and thinking outside of the box went to design the final 6 gear gearbox and yes this was a true challenge to squeese a 6 functions gearbox in the mini 8043 but the final product is work of art and im really really happy with the gearbox and there is no cracking so this was a true engineering nightmare:)

Well i submitted this to rebrickable with full parts list this has 1326 pcs so this has 200 pcs more than the 8043:)

Well i did notice afterwards that the bush plane did come with yellow wheel rims so here is mini 8043 with yellow rims:)

But im now soo happy that i know how to use studio v2 so now my future mocs will come with instructions while its a pain to make 3d model in computer for instructions its still a rewarding process and yes i might worked too much on computer because i got many times a headacke for watcinh too much computer screen but it was worth it as now my hard work has payed of and now i can sleep better again as this project is done:)

Well i have made a smaller version of the 8043 and i want also succsessor to 8043 maybe even more technicaly complicated motorized wheel excavator would be cool and my mini version is wheeled version:) edit for clarification not a bucket wheel excavator but like 42053 but size of 42082 and fully motorized:)

Well it did just rended a picture so i don't know how you share a 3d model or if its even possible and since im from stone age and not familiar with 3d model software i maybe have to scrap the idea

Well now almost week long project is done soon there will be instructions and now these are my first ever digital instructions and im sorry if there is some impossible connections i have try my best to improve stuff and steps but im not expert on 3d models i like more of building physicaly so it was a true pain to make the 3d model

Well now the digital instructions are done i added my ideas on instructions and now i will make the boom and detail instructions and ad them to the instructions and then the instructions are finally done:)

Well now digital instructions are done i just need to make boom and details instructions:) And i have few ideas on the instructions design and i will try to corporate them but the instructions are free as usual. All of my designed mocs instructions will be free and i won't charge anything for them and i try my best to make them as premium as possible and easy to understand:)

Well this has been fun and i have sorted the impossible connections best i can but still this has been kind of nightmarely process but im really happy with my first 3d model:)

More shrunking in progress now this has 276 building steps:)

So with the all fixes the mini 8043 is my all time best excavator wich i have made the volvo ew220e has the most complex boom because its 2 piece but i kind of love more the mini 8043 its so fun little beast and its strong and not fragile:) and compared to legos small excavator the 42121 its night and day difference the mini 8043 is million times better than the 42121:) And the mini 8043 scale is pretty close to soon releasing 42203 so now the dump truck has matching excavator:)

Progress on the instructions i have now fixed most of the issues there is still few and i have shrunked instructions to 299 steps they might get more shrunked and i have to make boom and few other detail instructions and to add those to instructions:) And with the mini 8043 i have fixed all issues releated to superstructure turning the ew 220 suffers from not great superstructure turning its not smooth while the 8043 is smooth as butter:)

Well i have huge suspicion if they do demolition excavator it will be cat because there was only one cat set the d11 and liebherr had 2 sets and volvo and mercedes benz had bucket load of sets:)

Well since im from stone age;) i didn't know the studio v2 can generate steps automaticly this is pretty cool and saves lot of time i just have to install the boom and few detail instructions and maybe the instructions are ready by tomorrow:)

Boom instructions in progress i tryed making them on studio but it was too difficult so i returned back to stone age and builded another copy of the boom for instructions purposes:)

Well this was kind of amazing finding this model uses more pieces than the 8043 while being a lot smaller this uses about 1400 pieces:)
