  1. 'Not Enough Booty to Buy One? Are these options still a too far beyond yer reach?' For those who are not able or willing to pay Bricklink/eBay-prices, you can also build a PAPER Captain Redbeard: https://ninjatoes.wordpress.com/2011/03/11/lego-kapitein-knoest-captain-redbeard/ ...and there are more Pirates characters: https://ninjatoes.wordpress.com/category/lego/pirates/
  2. My first set too! My accompanying memory: Saved up my pocket money -for a loooong time, or it felt like that anyway being a six/seven year old- and went to the local toy/general store with my mom. I was really convinced I coud buy Black Seas Barracuda (6285) with 'all' my savings... Still remember that dazling box on the top shelf calling my name! My disappointement grew as I was I was successively being told I couldn't buy BSB, then a smaller Pirates set, an even smaller one etc. Untill It stopped at the very bottom of the schelf at 6245 Harbor Sentry . The smallest set of them all! I think it's a nice (starter) set. I am really happy I still have my original one. Good, mixed memories . I started with Pirates LEGO last january again. And YES, I do now own a BSB since a couple of weeks and thirty-something years of waiting
  3. Thanks! I couldn't find an 'new member introduction topic'. Unfortunately I don't have any LEGO Pirates posters... I do have some regular old catalogs from '90, '91, '92 etc.
  4. ...or a nice Pirates sticker: https://www.teepublic.com/sticker/7890892-pirates-barracuda-bay (with pretty massive shipping costs)
  5. Maybe this guy can help: That poster looks like it's in pretty good condition. Or otherwise (download) one of these: https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/cg-artist-stefan-muller-recreates-a-classic-lego-90s-pirate-poster-in-stunning-detail/ https://www.teepublic.com/poster-and-art/10738293-pirates I would love to have these postcards in a highres. digital format: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=G&catString=472.61.688
