Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
DrHenryJonesJr replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
We will probably never know what reasons LEGO could have had. Nothing has been officially announced, not even the April wave directly, so there is nothing to revoke either. LEGO is also very arrogant and strict there, if there were any statements at all, then at most sometime later in the course of an FAQ press release, and even then we would probably only hear or read briefly that the set never existed or whose publication was never planned. The question as to why there would have been a listing and a set number at all would probably remain open at this point :-D Unfortunately, LEGO is often not transparent in their decisions. Personally I don't think the DoD sets will be canceled despite all the rumours, because it actually makes absolutely no sense, in many ways it doesn't. The only problem is that LEGO would be capable of it. In any case, we can only wait until an official announcement of the series of topics finally takes place. The fact that the official announcement of the April sets has still not happened could also indicate that the sets will not get their street date on April 1st, but later in April. If there is still no official announcement by the end of next week, the whole thing will become really mysterious. Then I would even slowly ask to believe that the first delivery of the sets in the USA was an early delivery, which could no longer be interrupted in their logistics chain and the topic has generally been postponed or canceled, or even only remains US exclusive. The only thing that makes me ignore these evil thoughts is that the sets are still listed with retailers and were announced by SmythsToys. But never mind :-D Let's just wait for the official announcement - everything will be fine, always think positive :-D Away with the terrible thoughts If they were released but were to be postponed a bit, August would be realistic and understandable instead of June, I had been wondering about June as the release month anyway, since LEGO and Disney certainly don't want to spoil the film with set titles. The end of June would still be possible, a few days don't matter, but the beginning of June would be a bit strange. But we'll see, as I said, so far I don't believe in a cancellation, since the film is the reason for the revival of the series, but it's not impossible, LEGO has their own decisions on that. These probably make sense within the company. Since they are rarely explained to the public in a transparent and comprehensible manner, unfortunately not always for the public Absolutely correct. And as Indy says: "That's what scares me!" -

I don't think we will see the ToD release anymore, the rumors that the set was completely canceled are getting more and more relevant. The last chance we have is actually a revision with a later release or a LEGO shop exclusivity, as there is rarely a LEGO series where all sets go directly to normal retail. But that's really just a straw to grasp at, realistically I think it's over I just saw the two new review videos for the diorama. It really is almost unbelievable how much effort they put into this set, this is LEGO as we know it from the old days. There are more features built in than almost any current LEGO Technic set and at a price that is almost affordable considering the set will surely be discounted in stores. So you can see that LEGO still knows how to create beautiful sets and even manages the combination of display set and play set here. If you still had everything printed, or at least the quotes, that would be unique in the LEGO world. It's a minor setback, unfortunately, but overall it's still a great thing. A massive compliment to the designer, he really did an incredibly good job here and delivered a sensational set, which also makes a nice farewell to the topic possible, as I'm afraid that we won't see the series anymore, or won't see it for a long time , insofar as the series is not somehow revived again. And even if they did, a redesign of the classic films would be rather unlikely. Actually, the small sets don't really fit into the scheme, although of course I'm very happy that there are also small playsets. But since rumors are circulating that there shouldn't be any DoD sets, it would have been more appropriate overall if they had just developed a nostalgia set, like Lord of the Rings, and left out the rest. So let's hope that everything turns out well in the end and that we get some more. But the diorama is really an excellent design and I look forward to the set appearing in stores more and more every day -

However, this dealer also announces the availability, but only at this shop. "We are fully stocked with 2023 new Legos! The March 1st release - and Indiana Jones - are on the shelves!" -

Unfortunately I can't post the link directly, based on community guidelines, because the ToD leak can be seen in the background, so I'm just referring to it. On instagram a post appeared a few minutes ago (#LegoLeaks - @reallegoleaks), with the following content: LEGO has released an official statement regading the rumoured "Temple of Doom" set: "At LEGO wie always care when fans petition! Especially when they petition for a set we haven't even officially revealed oder cancelled!" " mean thats definitely what was holding us back from releasing the set: Fans complaining!" I don't know if the post is real -

I also meant an official April Wave announcement. Precisely the fact that nothing has come up yet makes me so nervous for exactly these reasons, precisely because nothing has been officially confirmed, so nothing can be revoked or denied. -

That's the sad thing about it. If a Lego Star Wars, Lego Jurassic World, or Lego Harry Potter wave or set is canceled, that's also sad for the fans, but the next one will come at least a few months later. With Indy it is in all probability simply the very last chance :,-( After 14 years of waiting! I would totally agree with that. I just have a very bad feeling at the moment, despite the euphoria of the last 24 hours. To me it looks like an Osprey Revival, first delivery then cancellation? Lego still hasn't officially announced, confirmed, or denied anything. Lego is said to have even said that the first leaked images should not have appeared at all. Now, Lego is said to have soured that it wasn't their fault the sets were released so early. Then there are rumors of DoD cancellation, which would only make sense if you never released anything at all or canceled everything. All a bit frustrating at the moment. I hope that tomorrow or in the coming days there will finally be an official statement from Lego, and/or an official announcement. Maybe it's just the almost uncontrollable impatience that frustrates me, but sometimes I have the impression that there has rarely been such chaos as with the Indy Set series release. -

Lego Indiana Jones was relaunched based on the new film, the sets for the first films were intended to cheer the franchise on a bit and is usually fan service, the main wave comes to the film. Little is known about why, because of course you don't want to spoil the film. Based on past experiences, LEGO is unfortunately capable of a lot of crazy nonsense, but cancel the DoD wave? That would be a new form of stupidity. -

Can someone send the "echo" link per Message? Thank You I agree, but given that this is our last chance for Indiana Jones sets, it's better to have few sets than none. -

Unless Disney finds a way to somehow keep the franchise alive or restart it, Indiana Jones, like Harrison Ford, is likely to retire with Indy 5. And since Lego still believes that without a movie, there is no LEGO, this might actually be the last opportunity to celebrate Indiana Jones. If there are still sets coming in June, I think that we will be supplied with them on the market by summer 2025. Maybe there will be another set for the Bethesda Indiana Jones computer game, there was also one for Star Wars The fallen order, but it depends on the success and hype of the game and I see only a very small, hardly worth mentioning chance. -

We don't know the processes at Lego. Possibly the design department was given the task of redesigning the three best-selling sets from the original trilogy in 2008/2009. Below, as a highlight, the diorama for the most iconic scene. Then preview copies were produced and presented to the management. Ultimately, it was decided that the ToD set was too controversial. There may also have been some personnel changes in management and the decision-maker made a different decision in the end, but we will probably never find out in the end -

I donβt think that Lego and Disney want to spoiler the movie 2 or 3 months before release in theatres, so why should that indicate that there will be no DoD sets?! -

There was the box, there was and is the set, as we saw in the leak, it's just not currently being released or never released. Maybe the figures will be in an advent calendar, GWP or something similar, at least one can dream :-D Sry, not read exactly, my mistake, you are right! -

Especially since it would make absolutely no sense. Lego Indiana Jones was one of the top selling themes of 2008/2009 and a huge hit and now with the final film it seems to be the last chance as unfortunately Lego still believes they can only release licensed products if there is a film about it in the cinema runs. It would be the perfect moment to bring back adventure sets instead of planes and vehicles. They just can't seem to help. I will probably never understand Lego's marketing decisions, maybe I'm just too stupid for that. -

If DoD would really be cancelled, there will be only one question left: How can Lego mess this up so disastrously after we had to wait 14 years. Simply unbelievable. At least we can look forward to three sets with a fantastic diorama -

Thanks for your statement. Is it the religious or cultural concerns that many suspect, or something else entirely? Where do the first leaked pictures come from, are they really several months old? Are there also rumors, that Dial of Destiny Sets would be cancelled? -
