  1. If LEGO doesn't officially announce anything by the end of next week, at the latest by the end of April, I would buy what I can ASAP. While I'm not usually a fan of buying products at RRP at launch, as uncertain as the situation is, I'd rather do that than finding the few copies around 2000 EUR or $2000 from scalpers on Ebay
  2. I just did some brainstorming and recap: one thing's for sure, Promobricks must have had a look at the first three sets last summer, either in digital draft or in pictures, I even think it's possible that the leaked pictures originally could come from there. Whoever finally leaked them a few weeks ago. Promobricks described in this article back in July 2022 in great detail and exactly how the new sets and the new minifigures will look like, going into the construction, the stud width and things that you can only know if you get exact descriptions or good ones gets pictures. Now we know that the sets looks exactly like that At that time there was even a live stream from Promobricks, in which questions could be asked via chat. Here, a viewer asked for a small detail, which was checked briefly and the question was then answered. Which means the sets or set designs must have existed back then, which makes sense given the unexpected film postponements, at least based on Harrison Ford's subsequent injury, and the marvel film backlog after lockdowns ended. The decision to cancel ToD, insofar as this should really exist at all, must have been made afterwards, otherwise the preview image would not have been made available. At this point, Promobricks was already able to provide information on DoD set numbers, so it may not have been the plan to cancel them until then. An other question: Would it actually be conceivable that LEGO will announce Indiana Jones in early April? "Starting in June and exclusively from April at SmythsToys" and some other retailers? Would that fit into a LEGO scheme? If so, would it be quite normal that there hasn't been an announcement yet?
  3. SmythsToys says April. Normally I would now say that that could have been a mistake, maybe the release was originally planned exclusively at SmythsToys from April, the inlay was in the LEGO catalog in the middle, but has now been postponed. Furthermore, we don't have any dates, if that was a mistake or if something has changed in the meantime and the sets won't be released until June, that would explain both LEGO's silence, as there would still be enough time, and maybe a later release of the DoD sets, for example in August. The April and June dates were never officially confirmed. But why should some retailers get the goods in mid-February or early March? No retailer keeps goods in stock for 3-4 months that he is not allowed to sell?
  4. At SmythsToys and LEGO from April, in general trade from June 1st. That's what the catalog teaser said, but after everything that's happened in the last few days and weeks, I won't believe it until I've seen it...
  5. I couldn't quite follow it now, is it a fact that it comes from the toy fair, isn't it? To me, the pictures looked as if a server had just tidied up the Lego management meeting room during a break, where the box art of the Indy figures was being presented and then took a quick, secret photo from a distance with a smartphone that was extremely zoomed had to. or something like that :-D
  6. That doesn't necessarily have to be the case either. As far as Indy 5 has leaked out so far, there is some form of time travel, but there are certainly flashbacks in the film, for example the scene on and in the train, which can also be seen in the trailer - digital deaging. This could also include an Indy with brown hair in a DoD set, or both variants of the figure, or at least an interchangeable hat piece So the brown hat could have been produced with the first batch. If you looked at a Lego documentary that contained how extensive the production of new molds is, that would be possible. In addition, it would be more efficient to produce or pre-produce parts that may be required later, so that they may then be distributed in other sets cannot be completely ruled out. I don't think that's the case though, we didn't find the Opsrey in any other tech sets as far as I know, did we? :-) No idea It would also be the first LEGO set that I know of that contained an unnecessarily large number of parts, apart from the smallest small parts. Maybe a packaging error, which also happened with ToD, only that it couldn't be fixed there, or the ToD hat part ended up in the wrong set. In general, I still can't imagine a complete cancellation, or maybe I just don't want it :-D May LEGO finally free us from speculation :-)
"The four other LEGO Indiana Jones sets are likely to be numbered 77016 to 77019 and will probably be based on Indiana Jones 5. When and if the sets will be released at all is now questionable. As we have learned from dealer circles, it was not yet possible to order the previously unknown LEGO Indiana Jones novelties, which also makes a release in the foreseeable future increasingly unlikely."
  8. The first review video for the 77012 can be found on youtube, @MandRproductions I still don't link directly because it's not officially announced yet
  9. Since the image in the SmythsToys teaser appears to be the same as the graphic on the boxes in the top right corner, it can only have been provided by Lego, can't it? Only LEGO can know what image they are branding with.
  10. I mentioned in my post that the Indiana Jones topic may only address a relatively small target group from a global perspective. I was just generally concerned with the fact that the fans of these two topics are adequately addressed and the Indiana Jones fans have not in the last 14 years, which is partly understandable. But now that we finally have the chance to get something, of course, we are eagerly awaiting it. A Star Wars or Harry Potter fan who sees a set being canceled may not be happy either, but at least has countless alternatives or can say I'll just wait 3 months for the next wave or 2 years until the topic comes up again. We can assume that this will almost certainly be the last time we receive anything from this series. Unless, at some point, there would be an Indiana Jones 50th anniversary set or something similar. But as I said, you're all right, of course, and it's also clear that LEGO has no obligation to do anything, my comment that it's just a toy ultimately goes something in that direction. On the other hand, to a certain extent there is also a kind of responsibility towards the environment, politics, religion, quality, sustainability and also towards the fans that a company takes on when products are developed. But I want to stop my "whining" now anyway :-) I think I just go into other comments way too often and too much and go into too much detail, which usually makes me melancholic while writing :-D Let's just look forward to getting sets (hopefully) soon and see what's in store. In the end, we have no choice but to do just that anyway Unlikely
  11. I wouldn't see it that dramatically. To get back to the bottom of the facts: It's about a toy. But we're fans, we've been waiting for almost 14 years to get something from Indiana Jones again, of any kind. We know that LEGO only manages to launch series in connection with a film and the associated hype, if at all, and even then not always. Especially in the case of topics where it is questionable how much they generate for LEGO in terms of sales globally, since the LEGO community or the Indiana Jones fans and the LEGO Indiana Jones community in terms of the world population is certainly not or no longer the largest today. Then we'll get a teaser in January. We're thinking that something is finally coming, scratching our fingers under the table, just wanting to say "Shut up and take my money" Then we hear nothing for almost 1.5 months and then the wildest speculations, rumors and much more about the topic begin and LEGO doesn't say a word about it. Again, it's a toy, just a toy. Of course there are more important and significant things in life, especially considering the many crises we have experienced in recent years and now. But we, as fans, just want to enjoy the sets and have fun with them. I'm in my mid-30s, husband, have 2 children and therefore more important things in life than LEGO or LEGO indiana jones, but I also have an AFOL connection with the topic and can't wait. By the way, neither do my children :-D although they are both girls And I think that's how it is for a lot of people here, whether young or old. Adventure fans, or Indiana Jones fans, figure collectors or people who like to play. And then it goes on like the last few weeks. While all Star Wars fans have been allowed to play with their sets for almost 25 years, Harry Potter fans have been allowed to play with their sets for many years, etc. That's frustrating. So too dramatic? Really? I don't think so :-D
  12. From a purely objective and factual point of view, it is of course professional to have a clear policy and to stick to it. However, we also know that this policy is not always as clear as LEGO itself claims. This is evident from the fact that the aircraft set contains an aircraft that (also) was or is a military aircraft, or was used as such in the film, and there is an ark in the tomb set that has a religious background. But beyond that, not releasing a set because of this policy is less of an issue than designing a set despite this policy and then revoking it a few months before the market launch. As far as we know, a LEGO set takes about a year from concept to retail. After Indiana Jones was postponed several times, it is not unrealistic that work on the Lego ideas started as early as 2019, when the script for Indy 5 was finalized. Seriously? It could have taken up to 4 years for someone to realize that a product contradicts your political correctness policy? So the question is not so much IF the product could have been cancelled, but WHEN it could be cancelled. That might be why you find it ridiculous. Especially since this set already existed and there was exactly the same controversy back then as it is today, which isn't new either and humanity is much more sensitive today than it was in the past PETA even made a fuss at the LEGO farm for as long as I can remember. However, I would like to reiterate that an assumption does not become true just because it is mentioned many times, many mention it, or many mention it frequently. There are currently only rumors, that's the point. Even if it is said that the rumors seem to be true, they still remain just rumours, no more, no less. Even if these rumors turn out to be fact, they were just rumors that turned out to be true. We can only hope for the best anyway and end up taking what we can get.
  13. I had already mentioned that a few times here, but it was ignored or not addressed, or dismissed as "unrealistic". I have to admit that I don't believe it in general either, in detail, but I don't think it's unrealistic until the official announcement finally comes, nothing is unrealistic for me, LEGO has done "nonsense" so many times. Also, as far as I can remember, Osprey was already announced and canceled in the middle of the market launch. But as has already been said here several times by others: We speculate in circles, I believe that every obvious and absurd theory has already been discussed here at least once or twice, but in the end we still don't know more than that there was a teaser in the SmythsToys catalog announcing the series to be exclusive to SmythsToys from April 1st, that some retailers in the US have already received copies, that a few sold them too early and that brickshop.eu has now listed them and LEGO above so far kept absolute silence about all.
  14. The user "Comic Bricks" has published a video with more official stock photos on YouTube, I can't say where they came from because LEGO hasn't published them yet. Probably from another dealer that I haven't been able to locate yet. Since they're still not officially released by LEGO, I'm still not posting a direct link here.
  15. The relaunch of Indiana Jones is so sic that LEGO could almost have wanted it like this These were the officially announced prices in summer 2022 - RRP Since then there has been no further information about it. But that was before the second LEGO price increase. However, 20% more is not unrealistic, especially since these prices for license sets in the LEGO world would be rather lower than one would expect. The prices in the leaked images were dealer prices, some of which were above the last RRP and some below. Based on these prices, I would not conclude the final RRP prices. €80 | $80 for 77013 would be too much, 13 cents per part would just be too high.
  16. In my case, I was actually referring to SmythsToys, since that's the only shop in my area where you can essentially get the full LEGO catalog range, which is always in stock in sufficient quantities, as well as some exclusive titles, and that mostly up to 35% discount. In addition, there is occasionally a 20% discount on TOP if you order online and chose click & collect. Often even right on the first day of sale Since I live in a small village near the next larger city of Innsbruck, SmythsToys is one of the few places I go to get well-discounted LEGO anyway. In the neighboring village, I also have a small private retail business - 1 man business - which of course cannot offer anything significantly below the RRP and does not always have all sets available immediately on the first day. I also keep getting live updates from his LEGO ordering system regarding the listings and references to a few of the leaks, which I was also able to mention here However, he always has surprises in store, since he occasionally receives sets earlier and sells them promptly, especially to regular customers like me, where SmythsToys (at least the Innsbruck branch) usually sticks very closely to the LEGO street dates and by certain topics also has a few days' delay. In addition, other specialist dealers also get exclusive sets again and again LEGO sets are often announced as of the 1st of the month, but Smythstoys says available from the 23rd on their website, in stores they are usually around the 21st, although online the 23rd is still noted with the option to pre-order. I can't say exactly why that is, maybe also because of the supply chain. Even if the global release is not supposed to take place until June, the current situation already shows that not everyone always adheres to it and that the sets come onto the market earlier, even if you might then order online from SmythsToys for delivery. Unfortunately, the scalpers, who then offer the sets more expensively via Ebay, are often dangerous during this time. PS.: I can't find the JP images on Promobricks anymore, have they been taken offline again? Did they tease too early? :-)
  17. Yes, that seems to be becoming the norm. Actually, I almost don't care if there's anything official coming, as long as the sets end up in stores at the beginning of April. The only concern I have is that the LEGO delay will have an impact on retail and we'll have to wait until mid or even late April again before they go on sale on a large scale and you can finally buy them. So far I have comforted myself with the thought that we already have less than a month's waiting time, if that were to happen it would be more than a month again. That's frustrating :-D
  18. Somehow I feel the same way, I was so frustrated by all this fuss about the alleged cancellations that I already had one or two moments when I was about to say that I would soon no longer be interested in the topic, if that were the case continues :-D But then I look at the pictures again and ask myself the exact same questions, but until we have an official announcement of the April wave, the questions beyond that probably won't be answered either
  19. pickapenguin has now also published pictures on instagram where you can see a little bit of the boxes on the sides, i wouldn't see a figure there
  20. Yes exactly, the picture I mean that one could refer to it It's possible that LEGO simply took an image that fitted well into the scheme of the box, but it wouldn't (unfortunately) conclude that a ToD set would be released. I still hope, if the ToD cancelling rumors are true, that they revise the set, change the questionable things, also replace two minifigures if necessary, and then release it. Why they did not chose a different scene for the ToD set from the beginning, such as the traps on the way to the temple (beetles, spiked ceiling, etc.), remains open anyway.
  21. Possibly the picture is meant, that shows a shopping bag containing 77015 lying in the footwell of a car and where you can se the 77013 next to it. This picture shows the side view of 77015, showing Indy in his shirt. That's how he looks in several scenes though, not just in ToD. If you refer to it, that would not be a clear ToD teaser for me. I haven't seen a picture with a ToD minifigure, but I can't rule out that there was somewhere.
  22. As I mentioned, based on the information we have so far, I don't think there's any need to doubt that DoD sets will be released, and I also believe at this point that it wouldn't make sense in many ways to cancel them The only thing that worries me is the fact that LEGO is taking so long to officially announce Indiana Jones because as a fan I wish this series would be given the same attention as the others and it hurts that there seems to be disrespect or you stall the fans for so long and let them wriggle like a fish in a net that doesn't know if it's allowed to go back into the water. I hope all goes well and we finally hear back from LEGO in the coming days. I haven't heard anything about the film being postponed again. The rumors that some scenes would have to be shot again because they were so dissatisfied with the result have already been denied and refuted by the producer himself. It is well known that the planning of the film and the writing of the screenplay had problems, then the pandemic intervened and ultimately an injury to the main actor. To be honest, I'm not completely convinced of the cancellation of ToD either as long as nothing comes from LEGO or there is an official statement. No matter how often the alleged leakers post that this is almost certainly the case. While they may be right, nothing is confirmed. Basically, we haven't heard anything from LEGO. There is only one teaser in a SmythsToys catalogue, absolutely nothing else. That's the only thing that's fact. Everything else is just speculation, no matter how obvious or probable it may be, even if it turns out to be true, it will still have been speculation that turned out to be true, nothing more. Completely new or relaunched series are usually announced extensively. In the case of sets that follow later, there are occasionally explicit announcements, but usually the sets simply appear without renewed hype, or there is at least an announced listing,
  23. You are absolutely right, sorry, I edited it Thank you, i also edited my post :-) Very sorry, but the thought that the 77014 will almost certainly not appear on the market frustrates me so much that I can't even sarcasm the thought
  24. Initially, the RRP in EURO were given as follows, the dollar prices should be equivalent. At what price the dealers actually offer the sets and whether there are still RRP adjustments until the release, the prices tend to be very cheap for license topics, cannot be said yet. But I would expect up to 20% more. After some time, however, they will certainly be discounted in retail, depending on the RRP 77012 29,99€ | 29,99$ 77013 39,99€ | 39,99$ 77014 79,99€ | 79,99$ 77015 149,99€ | 149,99$
