Por que no los dos? Although the latest bit in 147 revolved around Charon completely flipping the "talking is a free action" on its head... I'm mildly self aware.
-
And the Hinckwells are such pleasant folk.

Meanwhile, Cannoneers are crying in a corner...

Necromancers, Dragoons, and Minstrels: about the only three expert classes people drop unique stuff for.
-
You'll know when you go into the final act, I'll leave it at that.
-
Well, I mean, he doesn't have to die. Garson and Masson were meant to die, but they didn't. We'll see how it plays out...
-
Arthur's still in his (and Flipz has family over, so it has been stalled a bit) and there's a couple of others I need to get off of mobile for to close out fully. Glad you're having fun, though!

Is killing an origin dragon not enough for you?
-
Nerwen and Karie could do the quest's soundtrack too.
-
I do believe Wren has been dead for 100 quests, at this point.
-
I blame the pontiff for that.

This is why y'all need Jesus Immortalis.

"Understood, little dragon. Now. I'm on the job right now, technically. So if I see chatty... Well, that's what it is. But it has a point. Feeling a little... Light headed right now?" And indeed, they were. It felt like their strength was sapping away... "While you were busy gawking at me, we decided to proceed with. Immortalis doesn't like us to kill outright while the storm is going on, just incapacitate..." Charon points a finger lazily behind the heroes, leaning against the wall. "With a handy dandy little magic spell that my good friends Vaermina and Telethia started casting while I had you distracted. Oh, and because I get the feeling it won't knock you out fully..." Charon points his cane upwards. Two angels had their weapons pointed at the ceiling. "My other two friends will be dropping a pieces of the ceiling in your paths. Sealed off and sapped... If the storm gets reversed, we'll dig you out, don't worry. Otherwise... Ciao!" The spell is completed. The two angels above the heroes bash the ceiling with their weapons, channeling a magical burst, and rocks collapse all around them. The sound, the spells, the sight of both ends of the tunnel getting sealed off before them... it was too much. They drop to the ground. They lose consciousness... QM Note: Expect PMs.

"I can understand. But know that I come to you with no intention of violence. Immortalis doesn't "let" me enter combat, usually... My powers are a bit too... fatal, shall we say. So, wondering why I'm here?" says Charon, twirling his cane between two fingers.
-
"Would you believe it I'm not actually here to fight you?" chuckles Charon.

"You made the correct choice, the lot of you. I will give the orders to my men." Ferris shuffles off. Five minutes later, a series of tremendous bangs is heard, followed by the sound of rushing water. The sound travels from in front of the heroes and ehind them, as the tunnel is drained into the chamber they were in previously. Ferris returns. "We dug many drainage holes. Keep going. It'll drain fast." "That's your cue, heroes. Best of luck." Anemos looks at all the heroes, seemingly frowning at the majority, but shaking his head sadly at Arthur, Masson, Lind, and Karie. "...You made a poor choice. But I will still stand by you in our mission. It's too important to let my bitterness jeopardize. Come on, heroes." Anemos joins the party! The party enters the drained tunnel. It dips down at first, and the group can still here the water digging out of the trenches Ferris had dug. The water level plunging, ht heroes descend with it, following the long, windy tunnel. it eventually hooks back up, moisture still clinging to its rocky walls, until it levels off once more. The party stops to see a familiar face standing in their way. "...Charon." "Gabriel! I see you decided to join this ragtag group of heroes. Your brother, the dragon, the dragoon, the paladin, and the Progg, too... You've got quite the group going." "Who is this... "Charon"?" Anemos mutters to the party.
-
"The thing that slows down the swimming route is scouting. Progg tunnels fork in many places - they all lead to the same place in the end, but some paths are longer than others. I'd need to round up some of my men, and we'd have to plot a course. It takes time." "Meanwhile, I take a five minute walk, yell at my men, and this tunnel will start draining. Time is of the essence, and you're wasting it."
-
Considering it existed back in 81, before I designed this arc...
-
"As someone who spent a solid few years bar hopping, homeless... Agreed." "...You really need to tell me what you've been up to these past twenty years." "I am sorry, but I am not willing to spare too many troops. Our home is in shambles, I need to keep Proggs here to hold down the fort." "Permission to accompany them, Solon, regardless of their choice? Simply myself. I understand that much of my corps may be needed elsewhere due to the flood." "...Granted."
-
"Except the fellow who can't be exposed to water? Yes. Is there risks? Yes. First of all, my men still need to get in there and scout out the tunnel fully, find some way through. The next is that fact that you're essentially trying to hold onto your breath and hold onto us as you race you through a water-filled tunnel - not to mention the return trip introducing more of a risk of injury. There is a risk of getting you through safely. I won't lie to you about that for a second."
-
"Thank you for hearing reason. I'm Anemos." "Ferris. And you're making a mistake." "Am I one of the two who can't make it through? It was my understanding we'd just be holding onto the Aqua Proggs as they swim through... I can't swim, but I could still hold on." "I have 12 men working under me. 13 of us in all." "Remember that I am deferring to your judgment here, heroes, and majority rules... You will have some work in swaying the rest of your party. And the residential district was still in construction, with finishing touches being made. No lives will be lost, but many Proggs will go homeless for quite some time."
-
"Not a poor idea in theory, but it'd take just as long as swimming, I imagine, not to mention the ether it costs. At that point, freezing a path isn't really worth it, time-wise, material-wise, and damage-wise."
-
"I ran the numbers on that, actually. Remember the ledge you viewed the residential area on as you walked by? It's tall enough to avoid getting submerged. The bottom half of that huge complex will be flooded, but we can just drain it and clean it up like we're going to have to do to this tunnel. Any damage done to the colony is temporary." "Easy for you to say, when you haven't spent three years in a cramped hole that fits you, your wife, your kids and nothing else. You know, like a quarter of the population has to?"
-
"Good man. And, er, dragon." "...From someone who has little opinion on this, but was a soldier for many centuries. If you go in there taking too long, or with fewer heroes, expect your enemy to take full advantage of those deficiencies." "Well... I don't want to see anyone else's work get destroyed. I've seen it once today. I vote swimmng." "Yes, but I don't want to die. So I say we drain the tunnel and get The Falconer before anything else gets flooded or burned. So it looks like our votes cancel, brother."
-
"Not sure how much your air bubble will help, boy. The flooded portion of the tunnel is over half a mile long, and there will be a lot of water pushing down on you. The length and pressure may very well make it impossible for it to last the full trip." "Or you can ditch that madman's plan to drain the tunnel, and my aquatic proggs can help you through. Some Proggs are huge, some are tunnelers, some can fly, but me and my men can swim. I'll get my men here, we'll scout out a route, and you'll just have to hold your breath and hold onto us while we swim through. We're way faster swimmers than you." "...I honestly don't know which choice is best. I don't want to set the colony back by flooding our own construction project, but it is the fastest option... Although the aqua Proggs might get you through, you'd lose a team member by default unless you figure something out, and it'll be slower."
