Once again thanks for the review, And yes, I would be lining up with the rest to buy a rerelease at 100 bucks. But could they rerelease it? And not just the color change or the helmet change which I'd be okay with. The wing plates (wedge plates, 4x4 and 8x4) have all been replaced with ones without notches (wedge 8 x3). That also have a slightly different angle to them. So, if they don't have the mold for the old wings, would we want a Galaxy Explorer with the new ones? Having done it with my own pieces, it just looks slightly off. Maybe I'm just overly nostalgic and nit picky. -Tohst - now get off my lawn

Another great review! Thanks. Poor kids. They don't realize that their house is going to burn down and leave them homeless, wandering through time and space. -Tohst

Thanks for the review. These classic reviews are interesting. You might be asking yourself why Lego included doors, and really an entire building thats the wrong scale for mini-figs. The fact is, 575 was essentially a remake of 369 from 1976. Only, 369 had white trim, yellow vehicles, and the static old style legless armless figures. One could speculate that Lego wanted to get more mini-fig sets out quickly and so didn't have time for set design. Or that they just really liked 369 and thought it would be awesome with the new mini-figs. OR that they were being mind controlled by aliens. Who knows? -Tohst

7/3 - 7/5 3 days only. $10 off $50 purchase coupon. Good for brick and mortor stores and the website. from www.toysrus.com Didn't see it mentioned elsewhere and thought I'd give the community the heads up. oh yeah, and I noticed it today after getting Peril in Peru last night...yeesh -Tohst

So, is this the first book description that doesn't include the word 'Toa' at all? Could this be a clue as to where things are heading? Just thinking out loud. -Tohst.

Yes, It really looks like Belatrix is a fan of Indiana Jones. Who knew? This is a great representation of that scene. The walls are interesting without distracting from the hoard. Nice work! -Tohst

Thanks Legomilk for the insight. When you say theme birthdays I immediately think of 30 years between 2009 and 1979 and what happened in 1979? Classic space, yellow castle, and town. The very beginning of Legoland. Yes there was something in 1978 but it really didn't solidify until 1979. -Tohst

I think you're asking the wrong question. Eurobricks is a community complete with a hierarchy, cliques, feuds, and chocolate chip cookies. So you should be asking, 'How can I participate in the community?'. And the answer is to partcipate. Maybe you need more than that. You need to forge links, make friends, etc. etc. To do that you comment thoughtfully on others MOCs and participate in discussions consistantly. As you get to know the people here, they will get to know you and that interest will transfer to your MOCs. Sure there are some people who are naturally great at this artistic medium of Lego but many of the best got that way by looking at other people's work for inspiration and bouncing ideas off each other in discussions. Participate in the community and you will get views on your MOCs as well as learning to make them better. -Tohst - who wished he had time to more consistantly follow his own advice.

Yes, that is a pic from BrickWorld. Sadly, the Agents they had on display there were the missions currently available at Toys R Us. At least thats all I saw. I suppose they might have displayed more elsewhere. I think everyone was too busy drooling over the Death star to notice much else. -Tohst

This is really beautiful. Especially the tree. So often, MOCs are 'summer only' using the greenery that comes in the sets. But this...the colors are great and make it feel like fall. The nice house underneath with roots sticking out is all frosting on the cake of that tree. -Tohst

Is it bad that all I can think of looking at the Droid gunship is that the Agents have a new gunship? You see, it looks dark blue and light grey like the Agents line...and never mind. -Tohst

So Pencoin I think it was. You're right. Its all about rebuilding them to something I like. But I don't think I need these new sets to do that. I am one that would complain about another silver sword. I think it was Pencoin again who said 'red/yellow' sword. Yeah baby, thats what I'm talking about. Color! Technicolor! Glorious Dorothy stepping into Oz color non-boring silver again weapons. Its actually one of the reasons why I think I can skip buying the Toa. Their unique weapons in that same protodermis color will show up in 13 different titans and vehicles over the next few years. The only thing that will be unique is those masks which I'm not a big fan of. Anyway this is all a prelude to my main rant. As I was thinking about the new launchers which let you make energy into constructs like Green Lantern, I was thinking about why these Toa...the most kick-buttingness Toa ever ...couldn't do that with their elemental powers. Isn't this redundant and worse than redundant because instead of Tahu makes a flame wall, Onua makes a rock wall we get everyone makes the same wall out of their launcher 'energy'? La Yawn. Ah well, I just need to keep telling myself. Self, I am not the demographic. I am not the demographic. I am not the demogorgan. -Tohst

Hi, I'm Tohst and I'm a Toa Mistika hater. The new pictures don't help :-) It is interesting that their blasters are now Green Lantern rings. Probably the fist Toa ever I won't buy (unless I see the deep deep discount) -Tohst

DS Han and Luke don't have the decorated legs in that picture. Thats a disappointment. Of course there was no reason they should except my own internal wants. -Tohst

Nice little cottage. I do like how the roof goes on and how the slope gives room for the sleeping area up top. As the blacksmith gets more successful, maybe he can build a house and have his apprentance sleep up there. Its got to be warm even in winter with the forge below. The only thing I would add, and I know this is harder virtually than when building with real bricks, is all the accessories I'd expect in a blacksmith shop, inside and out. A rack of tools, maybe a wagon wheel, a nice juicy mouse. You get the idea. -Tohst

So, under the thread for town pictures there is a Coast Guard platform with finally some new clear pictures. I bring it up because it looks very oil riggish even without modification. Seems to me Lego could very easily come out with something along those lines in Agents. -Tohst

Everyone says color and I disagree. Everyone is wrong! Well, okay, I just have a different opinion about what works best for me. Our eyes have developed to very easily distinguish colors (except for color blind folk which I've always wondered how many of them are AFOLs. Do they just to black and grey creations or do they make red christmas trees and not know it? None of my color-blind friends are into Lego...so they are useless!) whereas initial visual scanning makes it more difficult to detect, say, a yellow 2 x 2 brick from a 2 x 2 plate in a bunch of other yellow parts. So, I sorted by type, 1 x bricks, 2 x bricks, 1 x plates, rounds, etc... So, if I know I want a yellow 2 x 2 brick, I go to that tub and voila, I can easily see what yellow pieces are in there. So far its working very well but then I see some of the best builders sort by color and second guess myself. Disclaimer - The did try to sort by color many many moons ago so at one point I must have thought it was a good idea. -Tohst oh, and my favorite container is the 32 qt sterlite plastic tub.

I'm thinking of a Cobra Commander vs. Serpentor type relationship. With Ogel thinking 'how the heck is this guy doing my job better than me?' -Tohst - OGEL-LALALALALALALALALA!

Thanks for more great pictures. So, My original thoughts of this line were completely wrong. I thought, not a good replacement for either Alpha Team or Aqua-Raiders. The sets looked really poorly put together but I might buy a couple for mini-figs or the new sharks. And now... Just about every set is better than Alpha Team, especially the 2nd series. The difference in that sub and the speedboat to the subs they had in AT which were very open and relied on a couple large pieces for a consistant look is night and day. That sub could easily be in with the Aqua Raiders subs in how well it is put together but the design is more innovative/fantastical. Great work, mr Lego designer dude! And compare the volcano base to the last volcano themed set we had which was Star Wars Ultimate Light Sabre Duel. Wow, was that set bad. And this set is good. And given what we saw of the inside of the agents truck I would be really surprised if the inside of this wasn't really detailed as well. I'm really looking forward to this set. My only initial impression that was right was that the mini-figs and sharks would be good. Love the sharks. Love the friggin' Laser Beams on the Sharks heads. Love having the sharks eat whole mini-figs. Now wish they had done giant crocs (a la Lake Placid) as well to give me an excuse to get that set too. This line is making it real hard to wait for sales to buy things while simultaneously making me want to wait so I can afford these and the 10,000 new Star Wars sets this year. -Tohst - The sets will cost....one million dollars....hahahahaha!

Lego knows they have us. My first thought upon seeing the pictures was for the Spider Droid: If its over $20 I'll only buy one! Only one. Silly Addict. -Tohst

Thanks for the kind words. These really are the first 'mechs' I've tried. I need to become more familliar with that little 't' piece that so many people here put to such good use. -Tohst.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/14802561@N05/...57605358649701/ Here at Kass BioSphere's we've always had a lot of foresight. We created the first mass produced BioSphere system allowing equal access to the stars, planets, and asteroids. That was the BioSphere 1 million. And through that breakthrough planets like Crighton 5 were colonized and thrived. The BioSphere 30 Thousand allowed even easier entry to the ranks of 'Star Colonist' and was perfect for the 'Asteroid Cowboys'. As time went on and we met some friends out there, we offered products tailored for everyone from the BioSphere 200 Humanoid to the BioSphere 20 Chlorophyl. But one thing we didn't foresee was the reaction to our BioShphere One Humanoid. Designed as a self-contained 'panic room' in case of catastropic BioSphere failure due to attack or natural disaster. It could sustain a person for up to 1 week in comfort*. The B.O.H. quickly developed a cult following that hacked and modified it almost beyond recognition. Used as everything from escape pods on star cruisers to advance scouts to heavy machinery at construction sites, the B.O.H. became our number 1 seller. So, it is with great joy and anticipation we are releasing the new B.O.H. now available with built in expansion ports for optional attachments. The same functionality and stability you've come to expect but now you can modify without worrying about comprimising the core unit. And if you're not inclined to fiddle with it yourself, we offer myriad upgrade kits. So without further ado, I give you the BioSphere One Humanoid w/ Robotic interfaces for Occupational Components. The B.O.H.-R.O.C! *in energy saving sedation mode. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I wanted to recreate set 6848 - Strategic Pursuer with the Bohrok windscreen. I soon found 5 - wide bohrok shape to be challenging but in the end I think it turned out to look great. Let me know what you think? Now I just have to figure out what to make K.A.L. stand for. -Tohst

Great Review of a great set. I always figured the hoses were welding torches (attached to jetpacks, yeah!) as the whole thing had the vibe of a mobile repair center. Much like many of my favorite sets, this one has a base of simple bricks and plates and then from that solid foundation the rest is built out to be decorative or have the action features. This gives sets a very solid feel as demonstrated in this set, the first Snowspeeder, and Galaxy Explorer. The MM Armored Drilling Unit has a more technic base giving it a less solid appearance and though I like the set, that jet that luanches from the back is horrible, partially because of the useless orange containment things. The Mega Core has a nifty crane instead of a big useless jet. -Tohst

Eh, Can't say I was too impressed. Raiders was an incredible movie with each scene building to the next, memorable villians And not just because they were nazis. Seriously, the first time I saw Toht (I think his name was) shows the scar on his hand that they are using to point to the ark it blew me away. Plus it had realistic peril. And by this I mean, I can't think of a time in Raiders when I said to myself, Indy is dead. You can't survive that. Temple of Doom, on the other hand starts with the plane crash and them using the inflatible boat to save themselves and I can't watch it without my brain saying, and they all die. This new one had a bunch of such moments starting with the launching fridge. Combined with dropped plot points. The big one being the FBI is upset with Indy. Indy leaves the country, consorts with the commies, destroys all evidence of what he is doing, comes back and I guess tells the FBI it was aliens and he gets his job back and a promotion? The only fun part of that was the janitor from Scrubs. Its like Harrison Ford is his lucky charms and he is always after him. He also played a cop in the Fugitive chasing Ford playing Richard Kimble. And before I get too ranty about other areas, I'll just end with. What the heck was up with Shia being Tarzan? That made no sense. It wasn't fun. It wasn't funny. It wasn't exciting. It wasn't necessary. I could go on for another couple pages ;-) -Tohst
