It is with a sad heart that I write this. I am loyal. I've always been loyal. And all I wanted to do was science. To make life better. In SPACE. And then those Purist scum came to our school and started killing. What was I supposed to do? Let them kill me? Kill SCIENCE in SPACE? So, I concocted a plan. I needed the right ingredients. The right...chemicals. Hey, I had access to chemicals. I could make weapons! But who was scum? Day 1, Emily...sweet sweet Emily. Okay, blood-thirsty, overpowering Emily. But she made me feel safe. She took charge and she pointed the way: Melinda, Greg, Issac were on her list. We lynched Melinda and I took a chance and took out Issac. They were both town. I cried a lot of tears over that. Our protector gone and two other loyal students with her, one by my very own hands. But this is science and sometimes you have to try an experiment many times to get it right. Day 2, so confusing. Jeff was leading the charge and then Fred. Issac was no longer a suspect thanks to me so all signs pointed to Greg, but who else? We lynched Greg. Yay. And once again those dastardly Purists chose the person who was leading us....protecting us and killed Fred. And me, I cried bitter tears when I found out I had killed ANOTHER loyal student, Emma. But again, at least we weren't going to waste time suspecting her. I felt I was getting better at this killing thing. Day 3 and the shadow of suspicion was falling on Jordon, Warren, and me. I think people were noticing I was getting twitchy and giggling at the wrong times. But we lynched Jordon and they killed Jeff. Jeff who I felt was doing a terrible job of protecting ME and SCIENCE. Jeff who I was tempted to take care of myself as he had me on his SCUM list. I've killed for this school. Killed! And YOU suspect ME? But I didn't kill him. I was going to kill Warren. He was the person I felt was the most scummy after Jordon. My brain swam with the possibilities...me, Adam, Tim, Warren....one was scum....one was scum....one was SCUM. I had to protect the town. I had to protect MYSELF. Warren was the top suspect, but who was second? TIM. Tim was probably town. Warren was almost certainly going to be lynched as he had a vote penalty.... But if we were wrong. Adam was town, right? We had been talking and he was town, right? If Adam is town, Tim or Warren were scum......KILL Everyone. Protect SCIENCE. PROTECT THE TOWN. PROTECT ME. So, I cried as I killed Tim. And I was unsurprised when he came up as a loyal town. But it answered the question. The experiment was a success. We will lynch Warren! The town will be saved. SCIENCE and KILLING together! A new way forward! To the loyal students I killed. You will all get an honorable mention in my first published paper. I'm sorry...and congratulations.

I hadn't even thought of that.

So, Bob may be change things as at this point in the game a vote penalty is pretty game changing. But from the first day rules: 11) Violation of your first rule will result in a 4-vote penalty, your second violation will result in your death. Since this is a Mafia School, I will try to be lenient, but the best lesson can also sometimes be the harshest. Even if all three of us voted for, I dunno, Bob himself to be scum it isn't enough.

I'm torn. We lost two more loyal townies last night. And Great googly mooglie, are our night actions to blame for the loss of so many townies. But on the other hand, I'm feeling good about where the town is. We may finally drive the purist scum out of the school....so that I can get back to my studies. I just want to find out if the trick of putting a little orange juice in with cut apples keeps them from turning brown works in space. I'll write a paper on it and be famous! Gravitational Effects on Chemical Reactions in Perishibles! I, too, believe Warren is the last Purist scum. And with his vote penalty, I'm not sure Adam or I could effectively lynch each other anyway.

Excalibur TNG: Mafia School Day Three

Content, no? We only have 3 votes recorded and there are 2 scum (probably) out there. I wonder if they are waiting until the very end to try something? -

I've seen two convincing cases against Jordan from Jeff and Adam. Vote: Jordan Foster (Comrade Commander) -

I've watched a couple other mafia games and don't remember any time where they disclose the roles after a lynch or kill -

So, to be clear. 1. The list you posted yesterday of your scum/town analysis comes from you 2. You have not been in communication with others outside the forum about it. -

Jeff, You've been pretty adamant that Adam not just provide details about his conversations with Fred but screenshots. You're now digging into him providing all of his correspondence with everyone. At the same time, you say you got a list but not from who and have provided zero details. Why is the information only flowing one way? Who did you get a list from? What was on that list? I'm not going to ask fro screenshots. -

At least that explains why it seemed so quiet in the thread....everyone was active in PM. Full disclosure: I was talking with Adam....I think between the two of us we racked up 6 messages. And since we were still feeling each other out as to if we were town, I don't think we ever got to anything meaty and nothing, I think, that I haven't said publicly. Adam, at this point, I think is the bottom of my list of people who might be scum. That is, he is the most town. <--really hoping these words don't come back to bite me. -

Ack. No, sorry for being confusing. Lynching Greg was a great call. Warren supporting Greg so vehemently looks like a bad call. Which, if he were scum, he would've known it was a bad call the entire time he did it. -

I'm surprised that she thinks I am as much scum as Greg was. Partially since I'm a loyal townie and partially because the evidence against me she was asking me about which seemed like a whole lot of nothingburger. Anyway, as contradictory as it may seem, Warren was really supporting Greg so maybe he is town. After all, Greg looked like a good lynch bet from the beginning of the day and today that really looks like a bad call. Timothy jumped on the bandwagon near the end when it seemed like momentum was going against Greg and he was going out anyway. Overall, I feel like he's been pretty quiet. So, he is my number 1 scum choice for today. -

*note: quote truncated to relevant portion. It's a great line of inquiry. The last three to vote for Greg were: Timothy: *Note quote truncated only to remove the actual vote Then Fred was second to last (R.I.P.) And then Jeff. Now Jeff is an interesting one because he was pushing hard for people to vote early and 'show their work' in school terms and very early in the day voted for Greg and pushed that Greg's actions, especially in timing of votes were pointing to him manipulating bandwagons. He then switched to Emma. And then: *Note quote truncated only to remove the actual unvote for Emma and vote for Greg. And then we can look at the night kills: Night 1 Emily was driving the discussion and had Greg and Issac on her scum list: Issac was loyal. But she was on to something with Greg. She is targeted that night. Issac was a loyal town but also targeted - Night 2 Jeff started out driving the discussion. Enough so that I figured he was going to be targeted on night 2. But Fred stepped it up. And despite Jeff's analysis of Greg that helped get him lynched, Fred is targeted. Emma was a loyal town but also getting votes for suspicious behavior. Given that a lot of effort would've happened today focusing on her I cannot imagine why the scum targeted her. I'm still of the opinion that the loyal townies have a kill night action. They just aren't helping us very much. Stop killing loyal students! -

Yay, we got a purist! Boo. We're right on the edge. I got no list. Then again, I was convinced Fred was suspicious of me yesterday so its not surprising. Votes Issac Osborne ( TheLazyChicken): Melinda Fox Emily Goodwin ( Dragonfire) : Greg Kennedy Warren Thompson (Lego3364) : Emily Goodwin, Adam Powers Adam Powers (jluckhaupt) : Melinda Fox, Greg Kennedy Greg Kennedy ( Lego Spy) : Melinda Fox, Emma Lane Willie Spencer ( Tohst ): Melinda Fox, Greg Kennedy Melinda Fox ( Xenophobic Monoxide): Greg Kennedy Emma Lane ( vampyre78) :Adam Powers, Greg Kennedy Fred Rhodes (Adventurer1): Emma Lane, Greg Kennedy Jeff Yates( Getdamonkey ) : Willie Spencer, Greg Kennedy Timothy Daniels ( Calanon) : Adam Powers, Greg Kennedy Jordan Foster( Comrade Commander): Adam Powers, Emma Lane 6 players left. As Super Space Mario 5D world says ...Mamma Mia! As always, please let me know if I incorrectly put something in here. I just spent some time trying to figure out why I had 7 votes for Greg...when one of them was a vote from Day 1 but Melinda's name is so long it looked like it was for day 2. -
There are two things wrong there. I've started exactly one bandwagon. I voiced some suspicions on Jeff too, and then he stepped up and (mostly) squashed those worries. I voiced some suspicions on Greg, but I'm not seeing any sort of bandwagon form there. So, I'm not starting any bandwagons other than the one (hardly a trend) and even if I did, looking through the evidence and voicing suspicions is what Loyalists should do, right? Are you really looking for scummy behavior in this?

I have? That's interesting. Because I didn't join the Adam bandwagon at all. I put together some posts that showed Melinda had flip flopped pretty hard and started that bandwagon. I was incorrect but the reasoning was sound.

I wonder if we could do a statistical analysis on who wins if nobody talks and randomly picks someone to vote for. 12 people were in the game to start off with. We have 9 left. Let's hope there are only 3 Purists. If we lose 3 loyal townies tonight like we did last night, that leaves 3 scum and 3 town. Already a bad situation. There just seems to be a lot of people not talking. And that bodes ill for us.

Well, maybe we'll get some more thoughts this evening. We seem to be the 'day crowd'. People busy studying and experimenting and such. As if they are going to have tests after all this.

Are my notes wrong? How embarrassing. Peer review should save me, right? Let's go back. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=95627&st=175#entry1893432 Link to the relevant post as the nested quotes go wonky Okay, my phrasing was imprecise. Greg says this: Emily, it turns out really hadn't done that. She quoted the relevant part. I hope that satisfies you as to my meaning. As for if he says they didn't PM, they didn't PM. Purists lie. So, its a wonderful catch 22. If he is a loyalist, he is telling the truth. If he is a purist, he isn't. The timing could just be suspicious. I'm trying to run some numbers as to probability of it being nothing....I may have to talk to someone in social scientists about posting patterns and land speed velocities ...in SPACE!

Vote: Greg Kennedy (Lego Spy) Okay, let's get this done early. For misleading quotes and suspicious timing of bandwagon votes. In an experiment, you have to go where the data leads you. Sometimes the data is incorrect like when you don't clean out a test tube well enough and then use it again. As a side note, I have been typing in an accent.

I'm more thinking along the lines of what other games have had and what we might have. Notice, I purposefully didn't say 'Hey, tell me your roles!'. Just trying to make sense of day 1. Also...its really quiet in here.

I wonder what roles the town has? Some of them could be awfully useful about now. Because I don't have a good feel for the rest of the group.

Just to give us a place to start. Emily, who was not only Loyal but targeted during the night, had her list: We know she wasn't perfect as two people on her list of Scum were actually Town.
