  1. Ok, just “finished” the Jesko. Have to say this thing was a bit of a beast to build. I can knock out the 1/8 technic super cars in a weekend, this definitely took longer. The instructions aren’t for “beginners,” and I’m missing a couple of small pieces so I can’t quite finish final assembly. Has some wild techniques, and a few that I don’t think are great as the strain on pieces is noticeable (assuming I did it right😆). I would build another one, that being said the overall Lego Technic experience is definitely better, just wish there were more of them 🤷‍♂️
  2. Ok my curiosity got the better of me so I tried one of these, the $79 F3 electric. Assuming I did it right, the build and instructions were good, one place where the pressure seems a bit high. I was missing one of the tube parts. As far as the bricks themselves, I’ve got to say they were in some cases better than Lego, they have more variety/shapes. For the money this set really is a bargain, I’d definitely build another as I’m running out of technic kits to build, already chasing a couple retired sets and that gets too expensive 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
  3. Ok, just got back from the Lego store with the “Choppa” and an impulse buy Camaro. My weekend is set, lol.
  4. I knew you guys would understand🤣. And after your story Knight I’ll stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with it lol. Wow, who knew Lego could be that high pressure 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️😆
  5. I generally just watch racing brick and sometimes Sariel, they seem to do the best job with a technics sets for me. are you guys getting this one or waiting?
  6. So I was on a 2 week job with a lot of downtime, I travel for work. Figured I’d build a couple Lego sets as I play catch-up on all the technic pieces I’ve missed out on: the BMW motorcycle, RSR and the landrover. For me the BMW was the toughest build I’ve had so far, so I bubble wrapped it and barely fit it in my carryon bag. The Porsche and the Landrover, too big, so I took off their wheels, bubble wrapped and stuck them in my duffel bag checked bag. And that’s when the fun started. When I got home they were still “safely” packed in bubble wrap. But a bunch of parts had come apart on both. This is basically a whine session for me, because only you guys will understand, but OH MY GOD is it hard to reassemble one of these! I tackled the RSR first. Looking at a pile of loose parts and figuring out what was actually wrong, and then trying to fix it without taking it apart more was the single hardest building experience I’ve had. Ever. I’m leaving the Landrover for another day lol. Anybody feel my pain on this?🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
  7. As a new member you guys are rocking my world. Here I was, just proud of myself for just finishing a technic build, and now all this. Oh boy 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤣🤣
  8. Wow, awesome upgrades. I just joined here so really haven’t seen much when it comes to modding existing sets. A whole new world has been opened to me. Not sure if that’s a good thing yet lol 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
  9. I love watching these. Sadly I think my brain is a little to smooth to create one, which makes them even more impressive to me 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
  10. Yeah at this point “things with wheels “ has been limited to the large technic sets (1/8 and 1/10th scale) and some of the creator pieces. Or course I’ll justify the new helicopter coming august 1st because, hey, it has landing gear right? 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤣 The issue I’m having now is I’m getting pretty caught up with “current”sets, which opens the whole chasing-retired-sets rabbit hole. I’ll be getting the bugatti for sure, it’s still decently priced. But the orange GT3 RS….I mean an un-opened set is 3-4x retail which is just more than I’m willing to spend. So I have to go used, which means it’s most likely assembled. That’s what feels weird. If I don’t build it, have I really “earned” it? Probably a separate topic, not sure what I’m going to do.
  11. So i have a little bit of a collecting issue. Whatever it is I collect, and there are many things, I go waaay deep. Too deep to be honest. So as I begin my reconnection with Lego, I’ve decided I need some guidelines to keep me from going completely nuts. This one is simple. Only things with wheels. Sounds simple enough but what this does is prohibit me from going down the Star Wars wormhole, making a city, or going crazy with mini figs. Anybody else have any guidelines or do you all just have enough self control to regulate your collecting habits? Of course as it stands I’ve built 9 technic and 3 creator sets in the last 3 months, so yeah…..🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
  12. Just joined from the US. After 40 years away from Lego I’ve become obsessed with Technic. Right now I’m playing catch-up. Have the Ferrari,Lamborghini, D11, Leihberr shovel, bmw bike, Landrover and both of the 1/10 Ferrari and Porsches. At some point I’m going to have to bite the bullet and get the bugatti and the Porsche GT3 RS, because, you know, I have to have them all lol🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
