Very strangely, I was looking in a Smyths shop (A toy shop in Britain) and I saw TWO SIZES OF BOX for this set! It was strange, one was the size of a star wars battle pack box, and the other was about double the size. What's more was that one was laminated card like most POTC and Toy Story sets, but the other was hard, thick cardboard... Anyone have any idea what's going on? I'll try to get pics next time I go...

I have one of these and must say that this is THE best Castle set in the theme, and the most useful parts pack for its size yet.
-
Oh, I so wish I could now get 800+ of these...
-
Well, you certainly made this look better than my first moc! Love the use of seaweed as ivy or something, it all looks very natural. Just one constructive critisizm- I don't understand the use of trans-orange studs on the roof...

I find that the 1x1 plate modified with clip (This) Used to break all the time for me, especially after stuffing the wrong sized parts in it...

The attention to detail here is awe-inspiring. I need to get good enough a parts collection to do this myself as soon as possible!

weirdest place you've found random LEGO?
Flobnomdob replied to slovakiasteph's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here's my story... I was kayaking in Croatia to a small island, and found a creepy abandoned school. Wishful thinking mostly but I began hping that there was some Legothat'd been left over when they empied it- and there was! a fine selection of 15 peices, jammed under the floorboards! I still keep those parts (Including one arch and a broken technic beam) built into a stupid-looking spaceship. That was what made my holiday worthwhile (Actually no, I'm not that weird) Actually, I also have two other strange finds... Firstly, I was looking through my local primary school's skip (It was during their holidays) naturally, pulling out fully functional computers and tons of impossible-to-open paint pots, and I found most of this set! Best trash search ever! Secondly, I was walking down the drive from my friends, and saw dozens of old Forestmen and Bluecoat torso's (But barely anything else, one arm on one Forestman and mangled legs for some of them) and he allowed me to keep them due to their apalling condition. Yay for apalling condition! "So that's where my body went!" -
Personally I would use Airfix paint, I'm sure it does come in that kind of colour... I must say, though, why don't you get the Racecar Driver from Collectable Minifigures series 3? It'll save ruining a, as you say, a great peice?

I like those, and i thisnk this shows you have a lot of arange legs Recently I had the idea that if I had loads of money to throw away I could use this, chopped and painted to make monks' semibald heads;

I like this simple and effective purist custom. Maybe you could add to the detailing of him with these?
-
Is a painted one of these your ring idea? P.S. Nice editing!
-
Funny Any chance of replacing the top ogre's plume with this?
-
That's very funny! But, of course, now it needs the Series 5 Chimpanzee!

Firstly, that';s the perfect choice of torso! It works well for the Doctor's personality! How about this head? Or maybe this one? ...Or this? Or these two? (You could use them for differnt expressions) One more! As for legs, why not, rather than use just plain black legs, but these? Also, if you plan to build more characters, how about this for this season's sidekick? Anyway, I hope I have been helpful by giving you so much choice! I look foreward to seeing the completed Doctor!

MMCB's Trenchcoats for Moody
Flobnomdob replied to AnthonyFallen's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Ah, good. I was wondering when someone would use that hairpeice for Moody. I would rather use the slitted trenchcoat if it was my choice, I'm sure I remember him wearing something like that... -
I'm glad you asked this question so I don't have to! Though, how well does it stay in place if the minifig's arm is turned upwards ? (I know that on Indy's shoulder bag the bag slots under the 'sticky-out edge' of the bottom of the torso, does this too?) Otherwise, I no longer need to use rubber bands to connect weapons to the minifigure Just need to get one somehow...
-
Nice decals, youv'e managed to capture the minifigure-ish look for their expressions! Though, I'm not too sure about the blood, TLG would never do that (15 rated minifigs !)
-
I really like this MOC! The brick-built alternative to the now official Mack is much cuter with the studs for eyes and the really smooth look. This is a Mack-MOC, but I'd rather not call this a MOCK because that's insulting

I think the Pickabrick is great value, I got my first cup yesterday from the Lego store opening in Liverpool. I got a small cup free with a £20 purchase (3x make your own minifigure, and the Blacksmith Attack), and I am pleasantly surprised as to how many bricks you can cram into a small cup. Annoyingly, the Liverpool store has a rubbish selection of parts (Lime green 2x4's mostly, no windows, 1x1's and nothing else except for tyres, fire and half a clicky joint- what use is that?! ), but I still managed to get enough tan and brown 1x4's to build a weirdly colourschemed lunatic asylum for my crazily mismatched 'make your own minifigures' . Anyway, I still think £6 is a good price for a reasonable amount of bricks where you get to chose exactly what you want. Flobnomdob out!

I really like the plant detailing in the greenhouse. It looks really exotic! I for some reason really like the window on the top floor in green... I like the sewerage effect using trans-green elements! Is that acid dripping from the ceiling?
-
I'm really impressed with that neat and lever folding system. It looks good (And small enough) from the outside while closed, but It has lots of space when opened! I can see there's not many ways to fold more detail into the interior, and I would certainly never find that tightly packed a way to do it myself!
-
Wow! I think that looks very realistic, and the colour schemening seems perfect! I do like that grille at the front (Doh! Now I need to get some of these blaster pistols!) How many minifigs can it carry?

4750 Draco's Encounter with Buckbeak Review
Flobnomdob replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yay! The Monster Book of Monsters! Now I want this! I also love the Buckbeak figure! It looks very realistic for a LEGO version of something, usually they are much worse (Look at the goblins, for example) -
Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
Flobnomdob replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really think the the Kingdoms is not just equal, but better. I prefer having to sets of humans to collect than sets with knights and skeletons (Which to me don't really count as minifigures), but two people, though I did like getting Trolls- they're great fun for making funny scenes... Annoyingly, I didn't have enough time before it came out to get into Castle, so my collection is very limited collection (Seige tower, Dwarf's mine defender, Market Village and the Brickmaster... luckily, 5 Troll/Orcs!), but I love the detail and look of all the new minifigures! I have the grand plan to get every set in the new line... Prison Carriage- Check, Impulse Wizard- Check. Hmm, a bit still to go... Overall... Castle- 1 Kingdoms- 2 Knight's Kingdom- Nil (I only have the Large Figures) Flobnomdob out!
