    The wizard wasn’t important to me and there weren’t any wizards yet when I was originally buying castle LEGO sets in the 80s to 1990. Would have preferred a double axe crusader torso to that wizard they included. Did buy three prepacked knight/wizard/pirate from BAM yesterday as part of my effort to get another GWP. Objectively awesome figure. Can definitely see why people prefer it to what was included.

    I like the way they did the Lion Knight barding except I would prefer they had an all blue and/or red version. The split goes with the whole split shield etc thing they have going with the queen specifically. Would have liked four horses with barding though, so there could be nonsplit versions. The black falcons I don’t really like the stripes. But I’m happy to have barding for that faction at all as I don’t think they had one before. Prefer the old version of tongue in mouth to breathing fire on the shields but not really that big a deal to me.

    Are there any photos of the queen’s torso under the armour? Every photo I’ve seen she’s in armour.

    I like PAB better than the old battle packs. You can decide how much of what you want. Assuming of course they give us all the new stuff eventually. It is more costly for us. And LEGO might relieve some of the stress on the PAB system by doing something like that. But only they have the data to know if it’s worth it. At this point, I am happy that they are making castle sets and giving us good parts to buy. I would love a forestmen 3 in 1 with all parts we don’t have yet as well as black monarch castle update.

    I am in the US. And it’s still showing up as in stock for me. I originally thought it would run out fast. But I think if they already plan to offer it again in august then they probably have a ton of them.

    I don’t think the fact that some of these female knights have facial hair proves anything. They are all still female. I just wish more of these female knights had facial hair and that they didn’t wear mascara and lipstick while they were dressed for combat. But that’s just my opinion. You can pretend they are male if you want to, and even swap heads if you don’t like the ones provided.

    I stopped worrying when I saw the shield in the photo was the yellow lion shield, a shield which has done many times and never with a sticker. The photo was obviously a sticker. But it’s just as obvious they would not use a sticker for that particular shield in the final set. As far I know they never do shield stickers for castle sets since the yellow castle. So those would be the only ones that would have a rationale for it. But even fans of the yellow castle have no nostalgia for stickers. Pretty much everyone hates stickers. The designers seem to me to be true fans of the theme as well as good at what they do. I think if they had to cut costs they would make less shields rather than use stickers. So I am not worried.

    My three favorite sets as a kid were Kings Castle, Camouflaged Outpost, and Black Monarchs castle which was the last set I bought before I got back into LEGO. So I had only two sets with Black Knights. The other being Knights Challenge. But I really liked that faction and that castle. So I would be thrilled if this is so successful they feel obligated to give Black Monarchs Castle the same treatment. Those two original sets looked so awesome next to each other. Hope to replicate that with modern versions of both.

    Not too much to criticize about this. Especially after seeing all the shields and other parts I was not expecting. I prefer the old bullet helmets, because I am old and the new version wasn’t out in the sets I had as a kid. But I knew they weren’t bringing back old parts. I really wanted the double axe torso, especially when they were making so many figures. Would have preferred that to some of the others that are included. Kind of odd that they added that double axe shield which I don’t think was ever used before but didn’t do the torso. I was still hoping that would be a surprise in the reveal. But don’t see it. Though some torsos are covered in the pictures. I was annoyed at first about only one forestman torso. But I think that is in the context of having this plus the GWP at the same with all forestmen the same, which is something you never saw in the old sets. If there was more than forestman in a set, they were always different. My hope is that they are saving that for a forestman set where we get the torsos, brown hat, feathers. But overall, the best LEGO set ever in my opinion.

    For me, the greatest LEGO set of all time. Hope is available for long time so I can get multiple copies. Will definitively buy on day 1. Funny thing people worrying about if they would use stickers on the shields. For the yellow castle shields, the original were stickers. So will awesome to have a printed version. I think the chance of any stickers in this set are close to zero. I can see why they are delaying PAB/B&P now. With this set there so parts I want so much. Not sure where to start. And I already spend so much on parts. Going to be eating lots of beans and rice. That’s all I can say.

    Did LEGO ever say if/when the online BAM is coming to the US? I read about that a long time ago and thought it was a cool idea. I always plan to try BAM at the store but change my mind with quick glance at the mess there. Would probably use the online version a lot, especially seeing some of the parts that were available there.

    I thought the shields were exactly the same (other than the brown to reddish brown which I only thought of because I know the color changed but didn’t really notice visually either). It wasn’t until they were blown up and side to side that I can see there are differences. But the differences aren’t really significant enough to me to have a preference of one over the other.

    Just guessing but I think the way it works is they have this policy, but the system is automated. So if you make one order and get the GWP then days later make a separate order that ships separately they don’t go back and search the records to make sure you didn’t already get it and just toss it in according to the order. Maybe the ones that get cancelled were people who made separate orders the same time and LEGO saw two orders open same house and decide to consolidate those and send together. Then they would not toss two into the same box. They would invoke the policy and send one. Personally, I have received the same GWP multiple times and never had one cancelled, but I have never targeted a GWP. Just happened to make another order while it was still open. So just making a guess because others have said they get cancelled sometimes.

    They said would release new pieces after 90 days from now on. But they haven’t done that. The dark brown saddle and blue forestman hat came out in January then disappeared and doesn’t even show up as out of stock since they redid everything. But the dark orange horse which was released in the same set as the dark brown saddle did come back. So confusing and annoying. I wasn’t happy with the 90 day thing but not earth shattering of actually kept their word and stuck to it. But they haven’t even done that. So who knows when the parts will be available if ever. Still waiting on parts that came out six months ago.

    Pretty sure pick a brick counts. Always has for me. Only have $50 of pick a brick right now in my cart and the car GWP is in my cart. I think both standard and best sellers count and that language hasn’t been updated since they killed bricks and pieces and replaced with this combined thing. But I only have best sellers in my cart.

    In the US everything goes by EST. So I am in MST and it will be 10pm when I can get it. Assume Canada is the same but not sure.

    Almost like they are screwing with us. LOL. Castle release August 1. GWP August 2. Maybe they are trying to prevent 10305 from selling out in 5 minutes. Good thing about the castle though is it should be available again and for a while if you risk it and miss the first batch. Also makes it easier to get another GWP if you want more than one.

    Awesome. Love the torso. Hope we get a blue and black version at some point. With the brown hat and the feathers. Then make a green version of the peasant torso in 10305. Put it all in a 3 in 1 forestmen set that allows you to build the three remaining forestmen building sets. I would buy at least 10 of those. And that’s not an exaggeration.

    Seems nuts to spend $72 on eBay. If the set alone is worth that much to you why not spend another $78 on the LEGO website and get $150 worth of stuff for $78. To each his own I guess.

    Most of my orders have included bricks and pieces and/or pick a brick whenever I ordered anything else. But I have ordered a back ordered set, b&p, and PAB. And I got the GWP first and the others much later. Honestly, until now the GWP was never the main focus of my order, so I wasn’t carefully reading rules and tracking closely, etc. But I do know that whenever a GWP showed in my cart, I have always received it. It was never cancelled. Even when I already received the same one with different order. (I never made two orders same day just to get another GWP. Just happened to make another order when still available.) And I have ordered back orders multiple times and still received the GWP. So I don’t know if I have been lucky or varies from region or whatever. But I have never had one get cancelled when it shows in my cart for whatever reason.

    I have received a GWP alone before multiple times. I think as long as it appears in your cart it is considered an ordered item ( just free). The receipt you get you get with it shows a price and the amount discounted. So if the only item in your order available to ship immediately is the GWP, they will do that occasionally.

    Well, that description of the knight I like much more than the first description. Will have to wait and see it.

    Sounds like crap. Don’t even want the knight based on the description. Did seem logical that if they had an “extra” series coming out around the anniversary it could be a throwback. Obviously it’s not. Some will happy about that. Just not me.
