  1. There’s a pretty good rationale for why the GWP might sell out much faster this time. The first time it came out in a dead spot when not many new things were available and certainly nothing new for castle fans. The rumor already came out that it would be available again with the castle, which probably encouraged some people targeting it to hold off. This time it’s coming out with a lot of new sets from multiple themes. A lot of people are going to get it without caring about or targeting it just because they spend $150 on the things they want. Of course LEGO knows that too and will probably just make more this time to be sure the extra incentive is in place when the castle comes out. Your probably safe. Just there’s no way to predict when we have know idea on either of the significant variables (how many produced and how many will spend enough to earn it.)
  2. I think you do. I know it counts toward the amount. And I’ve always received a GWP when it was added to my part. Some people have written that you don’t get it if you only preorder something because it needs to ship with something. I can’t really argue that since I’ve never relied solely on a preordered item to get a GWP. But there have been several times when the items I ordered were not ready to ship for some reason and the GWP came first separately. So I am skeptical of the argument that if you only preorder, you don’t get it. Would be nice to hear from someone who either got it solely by an preorder or had it cancelled due to that.
  3. They also lowered the price quite a bit when they changed the part number too down to 7 cents a piece. Forget what it was but somewhere between 50 cents and a dollar. So it’s another good sign this piece is going to used a lot. Which is why it’s so annoying that yellow, blue, and black are 8, 18, 37 dollars on average on bricklinks. They have the colors. They have the mold. It’s obviously really cheap to make. Keep hoping they will throw in another color in another set along the way. But the new number, lower price, and the new forest torso all give me hope that they are going finally stop teasing around the edges and give us a full forestmen set of some kind within a reasonable time period. All they need is a brown hat, the cheap feathers in the other colors, and recolor the torsos from 10305 ( the red forest as well as a green version of the peasant). Nothing completely new is needed really.
  4. Well, I never dropped anything close to $400 on a LEGO set before. Probably, many castle fans in the same boat. So I hope they at least give us the GWP with it. They haven’t even confirmed it’s coming back, let alone have a date. But seems like the whole purpose to bring it back would be to go with the castle.
  5. It absolutely sucks at this point. Not possible to create anything remotely worth the price with the parts they have available. Yes, there are some castle torso prints. But since they only seem to allow a white torso to put the prints on…still sucks. If I could pick a green torso and print the old forestmen patterns that would be interesting. But at this point probably the only people who are going to pay for it are those who want to customize written text and maybe a picture on a shirt. Outside of that, much better deal to build a figure on PAB. There are lots of parts like that in 10305. It’s an absolute jackpot. So many things I would like to buy ridiculous amounts of, but that LEGO apparently doesn’t want to sell me anytime soon.
  6. That whole issue was never worth more than an eye roll to me. I don’t think a statistically important number of people are going to buy or not buy the set based on the heads. If they kept everything the same and used blank yellow heads for everyone I would have thought that was weird, and then bought the set. I would gladly have all female heads if they would just give us another forestman torso or the double axe torso.
  7. 40567 did sell out on the last day in the US. I kept loading my cart every day just to see if/when it would sell out. Someone earlier posted that there was error in getting the GWP and LEGO said it was sold out for now but would be sent when they produced more for the second round in August. I don’t think you can extrapolate the popularity from how fast the GWP sells out. Because there are two factors we don’t know. How many were produced and how many were bought. I mean maybe LEGO thought they produced enough for two rounds and now have to make more for August. Or they always planned two productions and just did a really good job estimating what they needed since it sold out the last day. And maybe they just guessed wrong with Harry Potter. Certainly possible Harry Potter is more popular. Just saying selling out faster doesn’t prove it. Also, fair to point out with Harry Potter GWP you were asking Harry Potter fans to buy Harry Potter in order to get a Harry Potter GWP at time when lots of new HP sets just came out. With 40567 you were asking castle fans to drop $150 to get it when most of us already bought 31120 and 21325 and people were on here complaining there was nothing available they wanted. I ended up buying a fourth and fifth 31120 to get it online and at the store… And just remembered the rumor came out that 40567 would be available again when 10305 comes out in August when 40567 had just become available.
  8. My biggest disappointment is it’s the only forestmen set where you get two of the same minifigure. But I am still going to have a bunch of these before all is done. Two already. At least two next round assuming rumor is true. And then wait and see. Would be nice if they had sold it on site for their suggested retail price. Don’t know if they have ever eventually sold a popular GWP on site. This is one of the reasons I kind of don’t like LEGO owning bricklinks. Maybe they feel like they have some kind of obligation to resellers that they otherwise wouldn’t have.
  9. Well, I had pretty long dark age from about 1989 to 2019. So that definitely affects my opinion. I spent a lot of time in the store admiring all the castle sets in the 80s but was only able to afford about six of them. My first castle was 6080. And when I saving up for another to oppose it 6085 came out and became the last one I bought. They were absolutely perfect in combination. Reverse color scheme. 12 minifigures. 4 horses. So these are my two all time favorites and difficult to choose between them. But this poll lets me pick both by choosing 6085 as the last great castle and 6080 as the all time greatest. Of course I freely admit I am not being fair to anything that came out during that long 30 year gap. But it’s all subjective anyway.
  10. Would be nice if it means updated Black Knights are coming too. Kings Castle and Black Monarchs Castle were my two opposing castles as a kid. Couldn’t afford all the sets I wanted even focusing on just the castle theme. But they looked awesome together. Would be nice to replicate that on a grander scale. Maybe the BF and LK have reached an uneasy peace to oppose the rising power of the BK... Or maybe it’s just a clever and entertaining way of explaining what that trans orange piece is in the treasure box and nothing more. Can always hope though.
  11. I thought they always had a policy against religious themes. And it didn’t stop them from having that shield originally. Hope that’s not the case but does seem odd that they only left that one out from the yellow castle. There were a couple other shields from classic castle pre lions sets that were not included as well.
  12. That’s good news. Did not make sense to me that they would make a part just for one GWP. But I don’t track GWP close enough to know if that would be unprecedented. Hopefully it means I will be able to buy way more than I could possibly need from online PAB then. I already have an insane number of BF shields… and will probably get more since they are only ones available for a while apparently.
  13. Yes. If they would give us those things (brown hat, black feather, blue feather, yellow feather, black torso, blue torso, plain green torso from the new peasant version) I really don’t care what theme they put it under or how they build it. I just thought the 3 in 1 would be a good fit with the way they are doing things. While I agree with the criticisms of the castle (pirate minifigure, brick built animals, etc.) I still like the set. I guess I just have lower expectations or a more glass is half full outlook that some others.
  14. Not saying it isn’t nice, but I think they invested way too much into that one character, the Queen. I would have preferred they just gave her the same torso and made double axe knights instead. Of course it may be related to the fact that I was originally into LEGO castle before they started including the monarch in the set, and I never really missed having one. Always just imagined there was one sitting inside somewhere with all the other details that were not included in those days. But still would have preferred the axe torso instead of a unique queen torso.
  15. Forestmen would be perfect for 3 in 1. There are three “building” sets left after the hideout and all are similar in appearance. And the treehouse look is pretty popular generally among various themes. A couple of friends sets my kids have even have a vague similarity to old forestmen sets to me. So pretty sure kids would buy them too. They would probably change from all black to shades of brown and make it more colorful to fit the theme. Also means they couldn’t throw in a horsecart in tribute to the smaller forestmen sets, because they have nothing but brick built animals which I am not found of. Those sets were all smaller, so they would need to make it bigger or do something to get it to the price of the other recent historical 3 in 1 sets. But what I really care about is getting a blue and black version of that torso as well as a green version of the peasant torso in 10305, a brown hat, and three remaining colors of feathers. If they do that, the set could include a spaceship or a dinosaur for all I care, and I would buy 10 of them.
  16. Thanks. Good information. Still wondering why all those colors disappeared from PAB but hopefully they reappear at the same price as the others then as 73200. Wasn’t planning on buying blue. Will use the printed legs if/when they release the parts for 10305. But would like plain green in anticipation of the FM torsos.
  17. Something I noticed on PAB online. Seems like all the primary color legs that used to always be available cheap are no longer available at all (red, blue, black, green, white). I guess since the change over though I haven’t checked legs in a long time. Most plain legs are 73200. So I searched “lower” and screened for minifigure parts and found blue is available but listed as 88584. And the price is 1.47, almost triple what it was. I checked the specific element number (4583501) on bricklinks to confirm it is plain blue legs. 88584 doesn’t show. So not sure why they would give it a new number and triple the price. Then I remembered some people wrote on here they used black legs for the BF and wondering if LEGO is anticipating people using blue legs for the LK. Also wondering why they took all those other colors down. Not new parts and currently being used in sets.
  18. Looks white to me. Would make more sense to be white. If it’s tan, I will be extremely pissed it’s not black, blue or yellow. But looks white.
  19. Well the knight is definitely popular. Grabbed three prepackaged BAM with knight-wizard-pirate on Sunday. Went back today and no knights at all. Plenty of everything else. I even went through the piles (for the first time ever) with help from my kids, but all I found was one shield and 5 helmets. No torsos. Is this something that gets restocked or is it one wave and done? I actually live close to a store but usually shop online except to check the wall for parts occasionally. But will start checking BAM too if they make figures like that. I really hope they do the online version in the US soon. Don’t like the open bins where the pieces get tossed about, arms and legs rearranged etc.
  20. That reveal was an Al Capones safe moment for me. Even the one that should appeal isn’t that great. Kid legs. Gold visor not one I need a lot of and already getting in 10305 long with the shield. Haven’t seen the torso yet. But really the only thing I want from the series is the printed armor. But my excitement over that is tempered by the knowledge that the other classic emblems will probably never be made to allow an updated version of the yellow castle crew.
  21. In the US it seems it often updates around midnight EST which is 2200 for me in MST. But I am not sure if it always like this. I have checked at various times throughout the day and seen things change. Most often it seems around midnight EST though +/- 15 minutes.
  22. I remember logging in every day at 2200, finally seeing BF parts, and loading them in my cart. Only to have them sell out before I could check out. Was that bad in the beginning. But I have a bunch now. And probably will keep adding until some of the others come available.. I hope. Just really annoying that they stopped releasing new parts immediately. And far more annoying that they don’t say if/when they will come out. I wouldn’t mind the delay so much if they just gave a rule and stuck by it. Still wondering about the dark brown saddle. Bought some in January and thought no big deal, I will buy more later. But when they shifted they took those down and they never came back. Same with blue forestmen hats and magenta feathers. Bought in January but six months later not even showing as out of stock.
  23. I don’t really care at all about goats, but I was surprised they didn’t take the opportunity to throw one in with all the farm sets this year. Could have sold more of those sets to adult collectors obsessed with goats. They were making new molds of animals anyway. And I think all the talk about the mold being lost is nonsense anyway. If all these Chinese copycats can reverse engineer plastic toys so well, surely LEGO can reverse engineer its own product pretty easily. Possibly cheaper than designing something new. So who knows.
  24. Should have lasted until 2200 yesterday in my time zone. But I noticed it was not available at 1830. So maybe it did sell out in the US, or they just ended it early.
  25. I assumed classic castle meant the yellow castle as well as the smaller sets and figure packs that followed prior to BF and LK as organized in bricklinks. Would like for remakes of some of those figures. So voted as one of my three. But even I didn’t want a bright yellow castle and didn’t think they would do that if it was picked. If they built a modern version they would probably update the colors as well. But actually at the time I assumed this would be some small tribute set like the one from 2016. So I was just hoping for some torsos, shields, etc. Never imagined a $400 castle. I also voted for FM (my favorite) and LK.
