LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Time77 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Amazon has the same price too, if that floats anyone's boat more Even if it was a Wrath of Khan or TOS set (AKA, had an enterprise that wasn't butt-ugly), 400 dollars is too rich for my blood. -

I've got like 3 or 4 of those trans-yellow canopies extra that'd I'd give you, lol. I think bricklink has a ton too. -

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Time77 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I didn't even know zero company was a thing. I kinda glad they're not going to do it knowing how sad I'd be when they'd ruin that R5 with their post-2018 r5 printing style. -

At that price (and given that PAB standard is not doing anything in the USA until the Virginia factory opens) I might have to go for it. -

I want to like the new-renegade (B-tron is cool and I've even built my own version of the ship), but it just looks like the C build of a 3-in-1 set. You talk about modifying it, but for me, at that point I might as well just start from scratch. Curious about how the GE lost your interest? Was it just the hype of 'spaaaacceship'? I picked up a bunch of the figures on PAB after the blacktron GWP, but I had no idea that the renegade actually used prints (appears I'm conflating that part with the "Blacktron Cruiser"). Good to know -

Personally, I bough six galaxy explorers because I thought it was such a good set (price, no stickers, great build, etc) and I've bough zero of the new renegades for the opposite reasons; I suspect I'm not the only one given the massive dip in quality between the two. Lego can take from that what they will. -

Who the heck is Pharrell Williams? And why does he get a lego set? I know its because theres some movie about him coming out... but why is there a set based on it? Who's the market for such a thing? I dislike the BTS or taylor swift sets, but at least they're popular people.. Compared to this random dude who's career is: that one annoying minions song(?) -
all i can see is that dominos commercial

To properly fit Ice planet I think it needs more blue (just those bar pieces need to be recolored) and a big o'l 4x4 radar TNO dish and one of those long TNO anttenas on top/behind the cabin repectively
-
And the proof for this is in the the milllions of unsold rey palpatines and rose ticos. A local shop still has a few hundred TLJ reys

The UCS x-wing has tons more pieces, a higher price, and is giant compared to jarac's x-wing. Now obviously they can't produce jerac's x-wing exactly, but at the UCS scale? Should look far better than a scaled up playscale set. The cantina sets only partially count in my eyes; the 2004 set it accounts for maybe half the set, and the the 2014(?) set accounts for maybe like a quarter or 1/5 of the set? Most I would pump the number up to is 4, but that only comes out to one every 6 years versus the gunships 7 (which, if you account for how poorly the episode 2 sets seemly did and how much popular the OT was (maybe is?), is fine) Either way, not the MASSIVE problem certain individuals claim it to be

I'm so bloody sick of people acting as if we've had a lot of luke's-land-speeders. We've had 3.5 sets and a UCS set in 24-25 years; do you know many gunships do we've had? 3 and a UCS set in 21-22 years, but yet people were acting as if we NEEDED one of those... Never-mind how much more popular the landspeeder has obviously been; just endless complaing by people who won't stop until every set released every year are TCW sets. People who complain about box art branding endlessly, act like it's based on some principle, and then say nothing when it's not about something they care about. Whens the last time we had a regular landspeeder? 3-4 years ago? SHUT UP

Pyros are always cool

That ISSD looks epic. That proto y-wing looks pretty good too. That 3rd scout trooper bike (the bottom one) looks really good for the time

They probably were already designing models by then anyhow.

Time77 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
We don't, but I think it's likely considering the number of times pieces are being re-used. I never meant to imply that lego is parting sets out; I think they're trying to sell their already made boxed copies and re-purposing the bins of un-packaged parts. -

Time77 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
You don't know that. The only reason we even know about the re-uses of the foosball pieces is because they're "unique" figure parts and not the general bricks that compose the BP bust; its much easier for BP pieces to slip by because of how generic its pieces are (black is one of THE most commonly used lego colors with white and the grays) -
Nothin easy about those trans-yellow canopies. Yeah, recently they've seen more production, but for a long while you were very limited. Futuron is way easier to make with blue canopies being more common, but yet futuron isn't made more often.

Seems oddly specific.. Hmmm. -
Not in my experience. Definitely gets more love than exploriens, but it's still slim

Just giving stuff away; I remember them doing that for a few of the chima speeders. -
The designers are kinda limited. They cannot make: M-tron, b-tron II, ice planet, spyrius, exploriens, roboforce, ufo, or insecoids. Not denying anyone's love for Futuron or UFO, but the popular stuff is CS, b-tron, M-tron, and Ice planet and I can only see lego making the popular stuff They could, but its just unlikely that they'll bring these colors back just 2-3 years after retiring them.

71460 Mr Oz's Space bus - a space gem hiding in plain sight?
Time77 replied to JDurham's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Its a step in the right direction, but its still too 'space shuttle' for me; that jarring bus piece is offputting too. Points for the unique(ish) logo (not just the CS logo repeated 1,000k times over) and dark blue windscreen though! The build is also nice
