  1. Sorry I just realized voting ends today. Voting is already closed. @Jim or @Milan Is it still possible to vote today? I mean if it is mandatory for participating members to vote...
  2. Honda RS 750 - Motorcycle & Engine Motorcycle: Steering & suspension V2 engine Engine: Educative model 45° V-twin, 90°crankshaft offset chain driven SOHC (single over head camshaft) 4 valves per cylinder 3 speed + neutral gearbox Motorized with PF M motor & Buwizz 2.0 https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/212280-tc30-motorcycle-engine/
  3. Well done! And the tail rotor "actually" counteract the main rotor torque. Nice detail
  4. The narrow tires this size are solid rubber, I think it won't help! The smaller scale seems the only option.
  5. I don't have smaller than PF M and I think it would be too slow with a less powerful motor
  6. Thank you! The motor is in the base of the prototype and probably stay here in the final model Thanks! I kept the tires weight low
  7. I love motorcycles and my fist technic set was the 8838 motorcycle back in 1991. And today... The idea is to build a mid-size motorcycle (75mm wheels) based on a real one, and build a detailed model of it's engine. Motorcycles like the "small" Ducati and Kawasaki h2r are ~400g so I need do do something simpler. Ideally a motorcycle without heavy fairing, with an interesting engine (with a valvetrain). My choice is the HONDA RS750, a racing flat track motorcycle from the 80's. Flat track (or dirt track in Europe) is racing on an oval track made of smooth dirt. This sport is mostly popular in the USA but I was lucky enough to give it a try in a small swiss event. Definitely one of the most thrilling experience I had on two wheels! The bike: The wheels used on flat track motorcycles are bigger than the standard road bike wheels. That helps me keeping the scale small (~1:7). Because of this scale I won't be able to fit a gearbox in it. Features: Front /rear suspension Chain driven V-twin fake engine steering obviously curent state: 275g. Fake engine: The scale will be around 1:3 or 1:3.5 with a 3 studs bore and 2 studs stroke. I gathered technical informations about the engine developed for this motorcycle and there are the points that I want to replicate: 45° V-twin 90° offset crankshaft chain driven SOHC (single over head camshaft) 4 valves per cylinder I found a forgotten prototype for a "similar" fake engine and modified it to serve as a proof of concept and weight approximation. it only fits the SOHC aspect but that's a starting point. I'm thinking about making it motorized with buwizz 2.0. It's around 310g if I count for the buwizz. That's it for now. Curious about flat-track? https://youtu.be/cy4koDhiAB0?si=JkBe84C3bZUSbpdJ Curious about the Honda RS 750? https://youtu.be/jWpLIp6HD34?si=lbb3_tUdbqYPVmXC
  8. You don't have to quit the gymnast project because of the rules! It only need to be below 300g and the bench press can be the second model.
  9. I don't see any required interaction in the rules. I would say it can make your entry more interesting but it's optional. Also I think that many pair of MOCs about the same size in the same theme can "be played together". Like two cars race each other, two machines work on the same construction site or on the same farm...
  10. @Jim So what are we doing about this rules? we can say more clearly: Two different MOCs like two lego sets thematically related. Each must have functions separately. About the gymnast and base it would fit if each have at least one function on its own. They could also be half an entry. Sorry @bruh That's a cool idea, I hope you get my point.
  11. I think it was clearly said in the rules with the car and trailer exemple. If that is accepted it would be hard to deny anything else in the future...I mean the contest just started and that's the first shared idea. On another hand the base and gymnast together could be a 300g MOC
  12. If that exist that's already explicitly banned if I can read. What I mean is a little buwizz RC car seems possible within 300g and I don't know if that's the kind of MOC you are expecting
  13. We could even ban electronics because non-lego seems the only possible way.
  14. That's a well balanced theme. Simple but interesting, thanks! Now my kitchen scale probably left the kitchen for a month
  15. Yes! I treated myself to a buwizz 2.0 and two motors. This is my first MOC with it. And yes! Not quite finished in time for today but most of the job is done. Instructions and better video soon!
  16. I was just trying to respect what we kinda "agreed on " previously . It's not about my personal taste or concerns I don't really mind. I have plenty of time for TCs So let's jump to 2x 300g 3MOCs combination contest as long as it's not about winter!
  17. I mean, my original point on winter theme was about the "winter" part. I didn't wanted to question the consensus about "Let's build anything within 500g that relates to a simple theme" Now I feel like it's back to square one and I don't get what we are trying to settle.
  18. Well, that brings back questions about piece list and "more work" for taking pictures just like the A+B model idea. Interesting idea that maybe takes away some of the simplicity I thought we were chasing.
  19. I dont see what you mean. Any exemple?
  20. There was some vaguely similar theme in the early TC. I don't care, that was 10 years ago. If the two MOCs don't have to be somehow related there is still not much to push us to build for the contest. I mean a generic subject is great but without anything connecting the entries together I still have that feeling about the contest dynamic What if the two MOCs have to interact with each other? Like TC2 triple contest (2013) but with two MOCs and a weight limit. (300g each or 500g -600g total)
  21. True. And that's not necessary a bad thing. That also mean more entries. But with no theme at all there is not much to push people to create something for the contest . This changes the dynamic compared to usual TCs. Again, I don't want to be annoying and will happily take part regardless of the theme.
  22. Simplicity at its purest form! Let's go! After thinking 3 minutes: Couldn't it be an open door to qualify any small MOC already on the shelf or nearly finished as long as it has never been published?
  23. Thanks. It also reminded me the arctic theme we had 2 years ago at the same time of the year We have a consensus about 500g. I still like the idea of a "vague" theme that allows more people to build something related to their personal taste. some ideas: Desert (kinda the opposite of winter) History (something from the past like before WW2. old plane, old car, old machine) Sci-fi ( a bit close to space police but with wheels allowed it should be quite different) Emergencies (police, firefighter, ambulance, rescue vehicle... tribute to the classic city theme)
  24. After I slept on that idea I kinda have an afterthought about the Winter theme. Since most of the contest entries are vehicles and winter usually means snow (at least in the most northern part of the earth) I'm afraid it could become a little close to the tracked vehicle contest. The weight limitation is also pushing to use tracks. What do you think? Sorry, don't want to be annoying by questioning a approved theme... just wanted to share that feeling.
