  1. Matthew Bates was active on Lugnet in the late 90's and early 2000's when Lugnet was the one place for Lego discussion. It was probably my most visited website during that time. Version 2.0 of Track designer was released in 1998, so its almost 30yrs old! In late 2004 someone posted asking for the source code. Then in 2008 Matt found it and was discussing the idea of releasing the source code, you can still read it here (but the webpage is now, almost cancerous with its advertising popups) LEGO SYSTEM Trains : 22776 (lugnet.com) At some point after that, the ownership of the program was handed over to the North Georgia Lego train club, which you've linked to already. I suspect it's never been developed any further, and there are now other options available that are probably more suited to modern operating systems.
  2. You can also get curved rails, more expensive than the straights, but interestingly they're described as RAIL CURVED 22½ DEG A little part of me wonders if Lego intend to produce curved rail of different radii?
  3. Just bought the 2022 Lego Train + Station, haven't been this excited about a Lego Train set since they re-released the Metroliner set 10001 20+yrs ago.
  4. If you guys think recent sets were uninspired and that 9V were better, best not to look at this thread, which shows what Lego Trains (officially) could've been:
  5. This thread makes me sad. It shows how cool Lego Train sets should have been!
  6. Brilliant! You're going to inspire me to try this on all my frayed 9V connectors. Just need to find the same wire type here in Australia.
  7. Wow! Sorry to hear about the father, but it sounds like this amazing collection is going to where it will be appreciated more!
  8. We need some background on why someone who had such a collection, kept in such good shape, is letting go of them!
  9. My opinion: In Chronological Order of good station sets: 7822 7824 2150 4554 is essentially a variant of 2150 7937
