As someone who mostly leaves sets made up the way the way the instructions say, the one aspect of this set that stands out to me is the modularity of it. I am looking forward to seeing how the separate modules all connect and how possible it would be to make my own modules to add in to make it bigger. Obviously the ideal parts pack to do that would be a second copy of it, but that will make it a very expensive set. (More expensive than Lion Kights Castle). Will defintely get this set, but may have to sell/swap my spare PoBB to fund a 2nd copy. While this set isn't in the same league as Lion Knights Castle and PoBB, I am happy enough with what they have produced. Some of the suggested improvements in this forum could really take it to the next level and I'll probably implement a few of them. Eldorado was my favourite set as a kid, so the nostalgia factor is high for me. I'm glad they did a remake rather than a whole new set, but I do wonder what Lego could have come up with if they started with a blank slate.
-
I picked up a couple of small pirate sets to pad out my PoBB display and they had a few red coats in them. I think once I get this set, the red coats will be my navy and the blue coats will guard the fort.
-
Thanks for that. I think the new ones look good, but will still get a spare new one for the original set (and maybe put the original one in a safe place)
-
Is the large flag at the top of the fort the same as the one on the original Eldorado? Last year I paid more for a replacement flag for my childhood OG Eldorado to make it complete again than I think the whole set cost brand new. If the flags are the same I'll be picking up a spare or two from Lego if I can. Also the prices on the Bricklink ones will have to drop considerably.

Its awesome! Check out insta

I was just looking at the different imperial soldiers on brickset and don't mind either the red or blue coats, I just hope they don't have blue legs. I'll be swapping them out for white instantly.

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

It doesn't need to scale properly but clearly lego do make a range of different sized legs for different scenarios. Harry potter, lord of the rings, avatar, etc all make use of different sized legs and torsos to represent different sized characters. I just think the size difference between an adult human and a wookie warrants longer legs, but as I said, each to their own. Agreed, height is right but the body to leg ratio is slightly out. -

Vader is fine as a regular fig, he's only a slightly taller human and this can be achieved by the size of his helmet, Chewie being around 8 ft tall is roughly a third taller than a human. Thats quite significant. Lego probably didn't do the Avatar people justice with the height of their minifigs if they are 10 ft tall. Thats almost double a humans height . This is chewie and han next to each other standing up I just found someone has already mocced up chewie with longer legs and the height ratio between the two is pretty spot on to me. Each to their own, but for me, the longer legs make chewie look a more realistic height. -

I apologise if this has been suggested before, cause I haven't read much of the Star Wars theme forum, but surely its about time they make a Chewbacca with the long legs from the Avatar and Toy Story sets. -

Yeah, went to get it from Melbourne CBD store today and I think they are the only Kmart that hasn't put out new sets yet. -

The 2018 Cargo Train (60198) is listed as retired on the Lego web site in Australia -
Just curious as to how often your dreams come true? I'm hoping it's not very often. :)

I like your idea. That works really well as a bus terminal. -

Some pretty cool sets in this wave. Love that the seals are in a small set. THe orca looks great, but I have no room for that ship. Ski Ramp, house and seals are must haves. Polar bears, ice cream shop are possibly/probably gets. If I had more room in town, I'd consider the other two large building sets, but they might be just too big. -
If its fabricated, it's not really a leak.

Yeah, 'the kids' have a town. I'm just the town planner. It could work as part of a gas station, but the town is getting kind of full so happy to skip a lot of these sets. The town is almost at a point where adding something means remiving something else. I prefer https://brickset.com/sets/60258-1/Tuning-Workshop from a couple of years back and still have https://brickset.com/sets/7642-1/Garage in a box cause I can't fit it in. -

The idea of having cars that you can customise by swapping fronts and backs is interesting, but I can't have it in the town without a building for it all to go into. -

Thanks for the links @LCP Overall feeling is that its a very <insert that tiresome argument> wave of sets. Must get the otters, the recycle truck and the slurpy truck Might get the vet for daughter, the monster truck when I figure out some more appropriate sized wheels for it, the firetruck, although i don't think it will fit in my fire station and the police dog training set just cause of the pup. Biggest disappointment for me is the lack of an actual garage building. -

The koala and the falcon are a great start to 2023. Some more new animals in city would be good. Running out of room in my city, so hoping only a couple of sets are must haves. -

I like that your idea. I'm hoping for a modern recreation of https://brickset.com/sets/6369-1/Auto-Workshop which was one of my favourite sets as a kid. Ideally it would be about the same size as https://brickset.com/sets/60347-1/Grocery-Store and no need for a tow truck as I have a few already. I'd like to see an open top Jeep type SUV. That car from 60319 is great. I got that set just for that car and the fireman. -
thats a great setup daemon4001. Will you motorize the new tram and run it on same tracks or change layout so tram gets a separate track?

After having 6369 Auto Workshop as a kid, I was a big of 60258 Tuning Workshop. Really looking forward to 60389 Auto Repair Shop. Hopefully they go well together in the auto services area of my (kids) town.
