I was certain this post would garner responses such as this..... I couldn't disagree more but, I know there are fervent Pirates fans that share your sentiment and I respect that.

I agree that the "fantasy" elements so far are harly compareable to the Castle line's take and are easily explainable as real world things. Here, I disagree. I see the success of the Trolls and Orcs et al to be a precursor to a Barbosa or Davey Jones-esque "villian". Lego has clearly "seen the light" and playing up the good vs evil, more cartoonish angles in all their lines. (See: Agents) I think it's only a matter of time.

Sorry if this is seen as getting ahead of things but I'm interested in seeing what the Pirate faithful are thinking. In light of Castle's move to "fantasy" (Orks, Trolls and Skellies) do you think we'll see Fantasy Pirates? Take advantage of the popularity of Pirares of the Carribean? I know that Lego has already dipped in the fantasy pool with the Mermaid and "Kracken" etc. But I'm thinking full on dedication to a seafaring faction on fishmen or ghouls or what have you.

I was at a local TRU here in the Seattle area and they had MANY new sets: Indy Shanghai Chase Indy Flying Wing Spongebob Krusty Krab Spongebob Neighbors All the Powerminers Vader's Tie Yoda's Tank Mace's Attack Shuttle Hyena Droid City Front Loader City Crawler Crane City Construction Site Creator Air set Creator Motorcycle Minis Perhaps more.... This is all in addtion to the Pirates/City stuff from a few weeks back

I am even more excited for this set now. My 8 year old daughter is ALWAYS wanting girls to play with and as we all know they can be somewhat hard to come by..... this set will certainly help!

Shopping for Christmas we picked up Agents 8635 Mobile Command Center, for the boy and Belville 7583 Playful Puppy 7585 Pony Stable and 7587 Pony Jumping, for the girl.

There were 3 left at the store I finally found them @ and I came back the next morning only to find them sold out. Later I saw the post that said they were $25. They didn't last that long around here.

My heart is with the OT but I'm an obsessed fan of the JSFIIs from the PT. I freakin' LOVE those things!!! CW is just an extension/expansion of the PT and several of these sets are fan faves Republic Gunship anyone? So i'm good here too. I am one of the few that happen to like the Rogue Shadow so I'm even cool with some EU stuff All in all, I just flat like what I like. That seems to be damn near all of it.

My "Local" Targets (At least 7) all had a plethora but clearanced them @ 49.98 and then later @ $24.98 [YIKES!] a month ago. I missed out but there are posts here and @ FBTB about it..... I'll be @ Target bright and early for the ISD.......

As I've gotten older I've gotten increasingly hardened to Hamil's whiny-megablocks in ANH. I tend to think of it as one big story and rank then films based on big events or what have you. Ep V; ESB ~ EVERYTHING happens in this movie. It;s all GOOD Ep VI; ROTJ ~ Luke/Vader Duel, Fall of Palpatine. The gap between 2 and 3 is VAST... Ep III; ROTS ~ Tons of Jedi, The Final Duel Ep II; ATOTC ~ Yoda/Dooku, Geonosis Ep IV; ANH ~ The end, Battle in/escape from The Death Star Ep I; TPM ~ Not even the Duel of the Fates saves this turd from being LAST....

I rank them thusly... Ep V; ESB Ep VI; ROTJ The gap between 2 and 3 is VAST... Ep III; ROTS Ep II; ATOTC Ep IV; ANH Ep I; TPM I would rank the 1st Clone Wars (cell animation) series between ROTJ and ROTS..... I'll wait to pass judgement on the new CW series but as for right now it it's there too.

Wow, it's funy how topics come up around here and they conincide with real life. My older kids are 8 and they have been playing with my built models for a couple years; Star Wars, Alpha Team, Dino Attack, Batman, Harry Potter, City and Creator. They both are careful but unfortunately end up "breaking" the sets and come to me downtrodden thinking I'm going to be mad. They each have some system sets and basic buckets and even some creator stuff. Just the other night I was sorting some of my stuff and the kids got theirs out and were building away..... Mom joked: "Careful kids.... Dad will sort your Lego stuf into his own....." Then I was thinking about this very topic. For now because of my space issues, I will leave their stuff seperate but when we finalyy move and have the room I'll just combine it all and let them build from the bulk stuff. I'll keep my more "precious" sets built and off limits so to speak. But the random bulk stuff is up for grabs.

I happen to love the JSF so for me, this is a nearlt perfect set. The color, Kit fisto, the booster ring..... I love it.

I just broke out my OOTF Hogwarts 3 last night because of your post. I'm going to get the rest of my HP sets out and set up a little HP love fest in the next couple of days! Thanks so much for "stoking the fires"

Costco had the same type of thing last year. It's a good bet this is meant to be a Holliday gift pack.
