Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Omega 8 replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Please count me as one of the "signed". Not getting the Pirate (or Castle for that matter) Advent Calendar this year would be a travesty! -

Amazing! We're off to outer space We're leaving Mother Earth To save the human race Our Star Blazers Searching for a distant star Heading off to Iscandar Leaving all we love behind Who knows what danger we'll find? We must be strong and brave Our home we've got to save If we don't in just one year Mother Earth will disappear Fighting with the Gamilons We won't stop until we've won Then we'll return and when we arrive The Earth will survive With our Star Blazers Perfect. What a reminder of one of the finest Anime series ever. For those of you not familiar with Star Blazers (English Title) or Space Battleship Yamato (Japanese) do yourself a favor and beg borrow or steal a copy of the series and watch it. It is possibly my all time favorite cartoon. It had everything a growing boy could want; Space Fighters? Check. Giant flying 1940s era Japanese Battleship with planet destroying cannon? Check. Cool aliens? Check. Humor? Check Innuendo? Check Obligatory, un-combable anime hair? Check. BTW, the show started in Japan in '74 and in the US in '79......

I too received this set for Christmas and I LOVE it. The semi cab seems more "beefed up" than the previous city rigs (Garbage Truck and Mixer for example) and the building is brilliantly simple. Thanks for the excellent review BTW.

Shanghai Chase, I don't have it yet but........ I LOVE it.

Thanks for the review! Got this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. We'll probably get a couple more to beef up the minifig ranks.

The Flying Wing is from a better movie, a better scene and there is more nostaliga involved but Peril in Peru is a far better set. More Bricks, more Figs, better build. All in all a better value.
-
Construction Site and 4WD with Horse Trailer for Christmas. 1st for 09 will be something small I'm sure.

Hink Sly Phred Green All were are better than I can do. Great job.

Great question! Still wondering if we can pin down when the change was made?

7751 Ahsoka's Starfighter & Vulture Droid review
Omega 8 replied to mutley777's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'll give you the Vulture Droids but as for the JSFs? What else would you have LEGO do? The main focus of the CW movie/series are the Jedi. We are going to get JSFs, lots and lots of JSFs. -
I wasn't aware there was a difference in the mold When was the switch made?

Whoa, I couldn't disagree more. This set is great and yes, it does clearly match up with the Coast Guard Set (i'm willing to bet the US release is designated coast guard) I can't wait for this one!!

I build on my own for the most part. but I do spend a lot of time building with my kids. So, BOTH!

Re-Reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince After Reading Beedle the Bard I wanted to go back and refresh my memory.

I voted '99 since it pulled me out of my TRUE Dark ages (Although, looking @ Brickset I realized that are a couple years theI only got 1 or 2 sets so there has been some pretty dim times since ...) I was so unbelieveably excited for those 1st sets. I still remember getting the Landspeeder, I was 26 and felt like 6. Many Other (more recent) years had better quality sets but nothing can trump the feeling of the 1st time.

Buttons is absolutely correct. OT: Original Trilogy (The old movies Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi) PT: Prequel Trilogy (New films: Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith) EU: Expanded Universe (Books/Games/Etc.) CW: Clone Wars

Why? A ghost ship would be a disgrace? A seaserpent? The Siren Song? Mer-Folk? Magic? Now, I don't want to drop the Troll War Ship in my Pirate set up but I'm excited at the prospect of some seafaring legends popping up!

I voted Indy for best new theme, all the sets have great playability and the pieces are useful/versatile for MOCing. Overall goes to City, so many great new sets, the modular buildings continue to WOW us.
