  1. The angle on the picture doesn't show the exterior TARDIS doors. I'm crossing my fingers that there isn't a colour variation just like in the video posted a couple pages ago... Can't wait for the review!
  2. My cat either plays nice... ...or not with my LEGO.
  3. I never really paid attention to this set (liked the show, but not enough to get a LEGO set of it), but when I looked at it the other day, I just went from "couldn't care less" to "gotta get it when it first comes out!" With just a few modifications here and there, I can finally create the Pulp Fiction diorama I've been planning to do for the longest time. Most of the parts are already in the set: The couch, the table, the seat, I just have to change the layout of the "study" to turn it into the "kitchen". There's even a door that leads to the "washroom" positioned perfectly just like in the movie! I mean, I could probably get those bricks for cheaper if I just did a pick-a-brick or bricklink, but this is just easier for a lazy guy like me! (Plus, Sheldon's printed Flash shirt is a bonus for me!)
  4. I buy LEGO mementos from places I visit all the time especially if the place I go to has a piece exclusive to that place, like the "I LOVE NY" minifig keychain. But I basically collect Architecture sets of places I visit (I don't necessarily buy it from the place I visited. Sometimes I just buy it from the LEGO shop after the fact). Luckily, most of the places I have gone to have one. I currently have the Empire State Building, Big Ben, and the Eiffel Tower. I will also be buying the leaning tower of Pisa for my upcoming travel this fall (I'm still debating whether I'll be getting the Trevi Fountain, though).
  5. I already forgot about this, so I was totally surprised when I got this in the mail yesterday. My wife was literally laughing because I initially saw our copy of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue peaking out of our mailbox and I went "oooooh!", and then when she opened the mailbox and showed me the Lego envelope, I was like "WHOOOOOOO!!!!"
  6. Finally able to complete my 1 set yesterday without getting any doubles! First four or 5 packs felt like I was on a roll, where I got exactly the fig I needed (and I think three of those were the 2 in a box figs), but I can't seem to find the waiter. After looking through four (already picked through) boxes, I was able to find him on the VERY LAST bag! (For some reason I thought that he had a round, not elliptical tray, and that was what I was feeling for. I was able to figure him out with the bottle!)
  7. Should I bother preparing my sleigh for next week? What does your calendar say? View on Flickr
  8. Check your Xbox 360 LEGO Lord of the Rings discs: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/11/13/lego-the-lord-of-the-rings-recalled.aspx Although someone DID reply in the comments thread that it was just a label misprint, and he/she was able to play extended portions of the game (past the trial levels, I suppose). That comment wasn't posted yet when I grabbed my game (and since my local TRU did not have a 360 to try the game on), so I was just given a refund on my credit card when I opened it right there and it said "Demo disc only" on the label. They just gave me the Elrond minifig that was supposed to come with the purchase of the game.
  9. Was also surprised to see this yesterday too while my wife was flipping through the flyers. I just assumed that (like the Lex Luthor pre-order exclusive) Elrond would be available as an EB Games pre-order exclusive so I traded in my completed LEGO DC superheroes game to pre-order LEGO LOTR. I checked the EB Games website after seeing that, and I see that there's still no mention of a preorder exclusive. I will probably just get the game from TRU then, and switch my EB Games preorder to another game if that's the case.
  10. Glad you liked it! I'd like to think of it as a single-pane funny, with an alternate angle!

  12. ^ Thanks, Bilbo! Yup, that skyline is New York. (I also moved my King Kong/NYC photo to the Special Lego Themes thread after mistakenly posting it here)

  19. Thanks! It's been a while since I last saw the movie, but I predict even years from now, that quote will still stick to my head! @CamelBoy68: Nice pics! Love the brick-built Olympics logo in the background!
  20. "You killed my father... Prepare to die!" View on Flickr This was actually inspired both by "The Princess Bride", and the old Eurobricks website banner (where it showed the butcher chasing the Minotaur).
  21. @Pandora, @Masked Builder, @JackJonespaw: Thank you! @JackJonespaw: I just ended up getting these guys over at eBay, thinking that it may be the easiest option to bring them to Canada. @Himstone: You may be on to something with that Mister Fantastic idea.
  22. @Splat, @WhiteFang, @Legocrazy81: Thank you! A couple of those panels are actually revisits from pictures I did previously: - The one with Chewie (which I took last week) - The "Real Steel" Robot Although, as you can see, I ran out of ideas by the time I reached the gymnast.
