  1. Nice idea Jiffel, but in such a scale near to impossible... Those LED´s are good, but after a while the battery´s will go dead, and then ? Take a string of 5 mm LED´s with 1,5 volt battery´s instead , those are low cost and ready availible in sevarel colors.. just built the bat/box in a easy place where you can replace the bat´s .. and you´re all done !
  2. Errrr... I would do something differend. Creating this monster of a ship is going to be your first objective.. and keeping your eye on the ball is very important. Build your hull first .. Keep that in mind at ALL times ... I can't stress that enough ... A regular size bed is like 2 meters ? Keep in mind that your ship needs to be at least 50 - 80 studs wide , more even if you want to put hangars in, cargobay's and a bridge , and whatnot.. A longer ship needs to be wider aswel... I don't think it's going to feel right after 2 years of building and you end up with a very nice looking "needle" . Toilet units inside your quarters are "busy-makers" ... keep that in mind.. if you want a lot of things to be "discovered" on your ship, make them separate , weapons to. A ship has a lot of spaces where they stock stuff.. sleeping-quarters are just that ... sleeping-quarters. Okay, do you want to show of your finished product ? that concider this : the more you put in per cm² .... the less people are going to see... there going to miss out on a lot of detail that took you months of thinking, ordering, and building .. A fully equiped toiletblock is going to stand out more with a spartan taking a (younowwhat) or a shower in the showerroom ( take that as an example ) ... than sleeping , eating and doing everything on a few cm² . Also take in mind that your lights are VERY important ... if there's no light inside the rooms, and it's dark, you've done al that work for nothing... I don't want to tamper your enthousiasm ... those are some mistakes I've made... Heck, you got me thinking about a ship of my own again !! Greetings, Saint
  3. Getting it to the size "roughly" as long as yuour bed is quite the challenge I think.... But I think that is very realistic challenge for a 2 year project . I took some time to "think" today.. and I for one think this thing CAN be done in a "sort-of-looking-like-it's-completly-MFscale-ship" .. Just don't overstretch yourself by making to large sections you can't handle. How ? You start out by "cutting" the ship into 4 or more quarters.. front-mid-mid-engine sections and the large slope on the side is a very nice way to smuggle with color underneath ( or not ) ... just hang that over a few of the sections ... because of the sections , you can always add more detail. Keep us informed !! grtz Saint
  4. I've got an idea for you : You're stock raving mad !!! ... Sorry, that was the first thing going through my mind... after that ... a banana You have to realise that this is a VERY VERY big project to do ... certanly in MF scale.... Building this large will take a lot of framework, so technic beams and a lot of technic pins is going to be your first requirement.. Here's a folder of a large ship of mine ( also MF scale ) This is the WIP : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=212080 Here on legoworld : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=211982 This took me the better part of a year to build... and in sections.. because i forgot I had to transport is Thanks to Alex54 there some picture's of my second ship : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2724987 ... sadly I completly forgot to take picture's at the SW event and of my ship... Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I might not have all the answers, but I can always try Greetings, Saint
  5. I think the magic is this : Put a jumperbrick underneath and a trans-clear round on it. Just whisk the plate on there , make the rest of the bell and put it in place. I think that the 1x1 round piece presses up, while the bar holds it al in place from above.. Just an Idea ;) grtz Saint
  6. @ natelite : Headlights wont work, because you can't stick the technic thing in. I tried And just because the front and the back join by two studs, its still a good MOC .. only downside I found was that the Brick itself doesn't quite grip into the bracket. The only slightly negative thing I found was that when you take the Scouttrooper out, the model tends to get to its original position ( fron 2 studs back to 2½ size ). It's a shame Lego doesn't hase the triangular shape things in Dark Green or in Tan... that would be just great Grtz Saint
  7. Yes, they're on te mini hailfire ;) I have build one with the picture you made !! I think it;s just great ! Only thing I changed is that I raised the back by adding 2 jumperbricks and fitting the front there ( sadly this takes away the coneshape thingy ) . Still, it is SO worth having a speeder at this level of building ! grtz Saint
  8. don't ... Just get a BIG shuffle and start digging your way out for Brasso !! .. and Stock up !! Grtz Saint
  9. All of it !! Every year SW has something I really really really want !!! ... Although since the new Bley the appeal has lost something for me .... like Ep 4,5,6 and then overdoing it with Ep 1,2,3... sadly I came out of my black ages around '99 , so I landed right smack in the whole SW scene .. Grtz Saint
  10. Nice :) It looks like a scene from fall-out . grtz Saint
  11. Nice review ! I think that the set is quite nice, loads of uppertunity , and best of all, the price is good . Under € 10 you don't get much LEGO these days, and when comparred to the new crane , I for one think it's quite cheap. The lime-green does nothing for me, but, when you look at the bigger picture ( kids and bright colors ) I think this is a hit ! grtz Saint
  12. Perfect !! Please, please, please make some WIP picture's !!! You really sparked me to do some heavy remodelling !! Grtz Saint
  13. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee make some Work in progress shots !!! This is great !
  14. That is by far the best armour I've seen !!!! Hard to believe you made it from scrap.... but thumbs up !!!!  If you're ever in the market for selling a few of these, count me in !! grtz Saint
  15. Well, A $ 5 for the chance to win 4 Burp pieces looks like nothing... but if you took the time to look on Bricklink, you'll see there is only 1 selling the BURP's, and asking $ 12 a piece for it... so I for one think that's a great raffle !! I won't enter this one for a much simpler reason, I don't have the cashflow right now.. and I'm working on my new project that don't invaulve any BURP's ;) GREAT WORK EB-STAFF !!!! Keep up the good work ! Saint
  16. How much for the cat ??

  19. Well, there are many opinions about sorting and storing your Lego, just as many people walk around.. I got a lot of draws for my stuff, but that is just for the "general" lego, smaller items i put in a sort of tray's .. but they fill up quite easy... I store it in larger boxes, depending on colors, then sort that out into bricks, plates, wedge en enz... figures and atributes in a separate box.. I found out that my collection is ever expanding, but my storage is lacking the capacety to keep up... so smaller boxes, candy tubs, lego tubs and al sorts of trays make it into my hobby room... Now I just keep the models I want separate from my hobby room, SW figures are on a stand, aswell a nice colection of some 300 + Blacktron 1 figs... all other stuff is in my hobby room.. and I try to keep it there... but I always seem to mix it up again.. so there I sit with the computer and a lot of lego around me Well, before I drift anymore from the subject, trying to keep your lego nicely sorted doesn't work for me grtz Saint
