  1. Doesn't that get rid of the plastic aswell ?? Brakefluid is very agressive , and if your not very carefull, your Lego is molten away aswell I guess... Perhaps he does it with his metal soldiers or what not.. But I wouldn't put that on a baseplate :S You don't need to use a lot of brasso.. just enough on your cloth to whipe it away, then rub it clean with a clean piece of cloth, apply brasso onto "little bit dirty cloth" clean next piece, clean with new piece of cloth.. and repeat.. reapeat, repeat... you get the picture... . you just need a little bit every time... to much will not do the trick.
  2. Brasso is still the best way then :) Doesn't take a lot of effort if you put something rubber ( like a old lego tyre) in the cloth ) .
  3. Another great one !! The second photo does it for me , this is soooooooo sweet !! This must have taken a long time to complete. thumbs up, A++++++ , extra credit and a "get out of jail card for free" for you !!
  4. The biggest problem I had was that they changed the grey into bley . Sets do look a lot better, the new parts are great and the figs even better !! But don't get me started on the pricing... just terrible, but that is between LEGO and LUCAS I guess. I did have all the SW sets in Classic grey, butt, sins the colourchange, I don't buy that much sets anymore, and IF I do, they stay build on the shelf longer, because I don't want to mix them with my LEGO. The new colors are great on the other hand
  5. Very nice to use Brickset, but I find that 99% of my collection is not there..
  6. Ehhh... to much I guess I don't keep track of everything anymore.. a guess is as good as anything. A good estimate will be over a half million pieces. My garage is bulking out . Allmost al the SW-figs and 400+blacktron I figs, plus some castle, and unassorted figs. Thats close to a 1000 figs allover.
  7. Sweet !! This rocks !!! As a militairy builder, I think this is the bomb, A++++++++++ Like to see more of this stuff
  8. Very nice ! But I miss something below the station.. The command center should go down a bit more to give it a 3D effect, just like the pylons. Hmm that will give it more like a "deep space 9 " effect .. Overal I give it a 9 out of 10 !! Keep up the good work grtz Saint
  9. My signature cam e from a funny "look at the bricks and tell me what set, theme and year it is " contest :) I was so fast that I was bestowed this title :D
  10. My thoughts exactly.. So, I want to make this a request aswell. Can anybody who is going to the SW event ( or such ) n california pick me up one to ? Payment can be done through PP, please PM me ;) Thanks in advance, Saint
  11. I drive a car, so no need for running. I work at a gassation, so I get plenty of movement ... towards the coffemachine, outside for a smoke.. back to the counter...
  12. Hmmmm let me think.. Grab hold of a 2x4 brick, take the round inside out and fill it up with lead ... you don't need boiling hot lead, but a bit of lead sheeting will do nice. You can always soft it a little bit up with some heat to get it in the corners. Use aceton in a small amount and a 2x4 flat to close the brick. ( I don't know if aceton is available to you , or you know what it is, but it's pure nailpolish stuff ) aceton mixed in a small amount simular to lego wil infact melt the lego, and produce a glue, simular to what lego uses for their models. It's NOT a good idea to mix colors or whatnot with that .. use the remains of the 2x4 brick and take a simulair colored brick. just try to mix it in a 50/50 state. you can always take fishing lead.. thats softer than normal ... and also ready in small pellets. Hopes this helps. Grtz Saint
  13. TLC is Never going to produce plates with studs on both sides. It's a nice dream for lazy builders ( I want them !! ) Some-one said that a clone-brand already had them, so cross that off... I hate to be the one that bursts everybody's dream.. TLC Spends enormous amount of time and money into development of new parts.. and sadly, some of the best idea's are disgarded ... That doesn't mean we have to keep trying to get that "special" part We CAN make the bricks upside down... even more now we have 1x1 with 2 studs on the side, old style of building is with an "Black Plate, Modified 1 x 1 with Clip Light - Type 2 (thick ring)" I for one, take the best that TLC will offer, I don't want a special part, I want as many parts I can get hold of. It isn't fair that some parts cost over 2 $ a piece, while you need many, many parts of them... bringing the price down is a more realistic dream than another part that will end up being $2 or more . Still, I dream of that mighty brick... a brick so beautiful, so good, so pure.. that everybody wants it... the holy grail of bricks... A jumperbrick merged with a Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grill with Bottom Groove.. ....Dreams can be so good
  14. Nothing really... I'm no town's person... Well.. I do like the "postaccocaliptic ruinscene trashing your city" look * sorry if postaccocaliptic is spelled wrong SPACE !!!
  15. I like it !! Nice compact body work.. Leg design is very interesting ... I'm not so sure about the arms... they look a bit to "bulky"... I think the weapons can look better with some tube or something.. Nice ! thumbs up !
  16. I don't think this is going to be 15 years in the making, MarcusV3. As a 2 year project it's really good. Planning, gathering the parts and building wise you can aquire lot's of parts and idea's, and get a lot of building done. The Danger, however, is in the fact that is can be a slow going project, and losing intrest in it is very realistic. A ship like this can be done, look at the Yamoto... 6 years of building... a lot of parts. and a lot of determination on his side .. so if he can do it, why not somebody else ? It's frustrating to build something this big at times, I know ( for real ) , but keeping an interest in a project is the key.. ~insert my own story~ ( sorry ) The Blacktronia Was build in a year timespan, for LEGOWORLD, and my very first attempt of building in this scale, and I discovered that I had to do a lot of rethinking ... the use of beams and pins made it light, but heavy.. detailing the ship was fun, but took a lot of time... almost 2 meters long, 3 decks, and engine, crewquarters ( nobody saw them because they were to low in the ship ) and a bridge ( again nobody saw a lot of the finer detail ) The Stormhammer Was build pure for the SW-Weekend in LL-Germany, and was in effect large ship, lots of plates and beams , no visible insides.. and took me a good four months to build. Larger than the blacktronia ? Nope, but it shure does look like it ... Because of the higher build , you get a "feel" that something is larger than it really is. Measuring in at 1.82 meters, even I thought it to be bigger. Given that I didn't do a lot of building in recent years, I took up the challenge again of starting to build a spaceship, inspired by this youngster, and If I can, will stand by him in advice and guidence. For one I think, this youngster can achieve the semely impossible. Keep up the good work , give us our daily updates ( or weekly ) and thumbs up for you , A.S. Grtz Saint

  18. Yes, minofigs are a great part of my hobby... I collect SW-figs as much as possible .. Some of them are quite rare, but mostly, I collect them because their cool ! Another part is that I collect Blacktron 1 figs... that said and done, I want them all with differend heads ! So I've got around a 400 Blacktronians and some 100-120 differend heads stuck on them. Al nicely placed on a display ... one for SW-figs, one for Blacktronians ... and a large tub for the rest.

    Guessing Game

    theme : Star Wars Set : 7662 MMT ( 2nd version ) Person : hinckley ( I guess if there's a whodunnit, it's hinckley ) What's POAFOL ... the AFOL I get, but PO ??
  23. This is a basic frame , 2 decks. Start of by connecting 16 length beams with hinges ( to get a octathingy ) . Using these : You can build the deck's , just put them in the 2nd slot ( or your hinges wil not work ) ... strange thing is.... it's an uneven count... from side to side its a uneven number to connect them... just leave a gap in roughly the middle to make the + working ... I opted for a configuration where I kept the standing and lying beams separate ... its just not as sturdy... but for decks it is quite rigid ... the do tend to sack a little ( there is a lot of stress involved on the decks ) Just follow the link to the WIP I gave you and watch closly.. it's not all that hard to do ... I have trust in you, my young apprentice Still... I would go for a boxshape... those are much more sturdy.. You can always "stack" more boxes... bigger or smaller.. and you can slope the sides better and sharper.. but hey... it's your imagenation who am I to disagree with a good idea Sorry for any grammer mistakes, my technical english is poor... and my grammer isn't what is was back when I was in school ( 16 years ago )... Grtz Saint
  24. Thats easy ... check the WIP photo´s of my ship... those give you a good idea . But then again that is not a hexagonal prism, my ship had 8 sides, getting the effect that I could build decks into the ship. But, I have to say, there´s a lot of pins and beams involved there ... and I think a boxshape is better .. I worked it out ... but constructing that takes a lot ! of 16 length beams , some 80-90 pins a few other parts .. and the deck keeps "floating" .. and thats only 1 part.. t On the "Blacktronia" I had some 3000 pins and some 1000 16 length beams .. and I still felt that I came up short .... ( not to mention plates ) Grtz Saint
