  1. I could see the tongue-out Voldemort appearing as a little Easter egg in the D2C, behind a turning wall or something. Kind of like Peeves in the first ever Hogwarts castle
  2. The Hogwarts Express has to be motorized for that price point, yeah? And possibly a large scale like the DeLorean? Hoping it's bigger than minifig scale with nothing too exclusive so it's an easy pass
  3. I feel like this set actually highlights the main issue with LEGO trees - the lack of foliage is underwhelming. A real tree would have an abundance of leaves, though I can see how designers might consider 10x the leaves way too tedious for a builder. A solution could be a new design element that makes leaves less flat?
  4. Is there a mechanism to make the Pensieve move up, or is this a poorly done render? It looks like it's placed in the center of the grill floor in the other photos
  5. Textorix, have you made this IRL? Would love to see photos of that!
  6. Deleting my comment about the Extendable Ear print cause I'm not sure if it's appropriate for the forum
  7. The Grimmauld Place reveal mechanism is absolutely genius. The designers are incredible for it If Gringotts is the D2C this beats out 2020 as the best wave IMO
  8. The new firebolt and new brooms in general!! Grimmauld's Place with Kreacher and Tonks with a pig nose!!! A perfect Shrieking shack with all of the crazy angles! THREE new Sirius Black mini figures! An extendable ear!! Yaxley!! They absolutely killed it this year my god.
  9. Ah thanks, I'm so happy you guys like the list! I'll redo it at the end of this year to include 2021 too I think next time I'm gonna make a survey link (is this allowed?) where every set is listed and you have to rank everything. That way the results will be very definitive, and it will be interesting to see the bottom 10. Also so many of these sets are incredible that it's splitting hairs, so something that didn't even make anybody's top 10 list like Quidditch could still crack a top 20 spot.
  10. Here we have it! The Non-Official Eurobricks Wizarding World Rumors & Discussion Forum Set Rankings (2018-2021): 1. Diagon Alley 2. Attack on the Burrow 3. Great Hall 4. Clock Tower 5. D2C Hogwarts Castle 6. Hagrid's Hut 7. Astronomy Tower 8. Hogsmeade Village Visit 9. Chamber of Secrets 10. The Rise of Voldemort Some interesting notes: Diagon Alley and Burrow made practically every list. Diagon Alley is the significant frontrunner, being #1 on 55% of lists and top 3 on 70%. The D2C Hogwarts Castle is #5 despite being absent from most lists- only present on 45% of them. If it was on a list, it was rated especially high. The only sets that didn't make the top 10 of anybody's list were the small buildable Hedwig, Moments Transfiguration and Potions and Charms, First Flying Lesson, Fluffy Encounter, Buildable Figures, Room of Requirement, Aragog's Lair, and Quidditch. Of these, Quidditch was a shocking omission to me. Even the Hungarian Horntail cracked one list! Thanks for the fun data everyone!
  11. What would everyone's top 10 LEGO Harry Potter sets be from 2018 on? I want to compile the answers to find the most popular set. Mine are: Burrow Privet Drive Diagon Alley Rise of Voldemort Polyjuice potion mistake Astronomy Tower Hagrid's Hut Clock Tower Great Hall Chess It's hard to make a top 10! But these are all practically perfect sets imo. D2C Hogwarts Castle barely got the chop for me, even though I could see an argument for it being #1!
  12. I just rearranged all my 2018-2022 sets, and I re-noticed Gabrielle's double sided head with closed eyes. How long does a figure like that stay in production? Very bizarre that we didn't get the second task set before the Beauxbatons carriage retired, especially since this head has never been used for anything else across any LEGO sets.
  13. Such a good observation!!
  14. Am I the only one that would prefer a slightly smaller Lockwood Manor style for Grimmauld Place, or smaller? Everything so far (besides perhaps DA) feels like it's in a consistent scale when displayed together, and having Grimmauld place as large as a modular would throw off the balance.
  15. I must be in the minority, but I really want Ron and Draco big figs for the $120 set... I'd settle for Luna too, who's honestly probably more likely for gender representation. Harry and Hermione feel incomplete without Ron!
  16. Though I think this is super unlikely, I love this idea
  17. It's nice to see someone else say this cause I totally agree. I think the first one looks great on display and is instantly recognizable
  18. This Ministry set really excited me. I have a feeling its set up to make room for expansions in future waves, like the fountain battle and prophecy scenes
  19. What a great list!!!! I'm so stoked that it looks like things are year 5 focused and what that means for the future. I still think the $119.99 set is a Ron and Luna/Malfoy brickbuilt. If the D2C ends up being Gringotts, this wave is phenomenal
  20. Is it possible to get a moderator to make everyone chill on the complaining and desperation? It's frustrating seeing so many new posts over and over, and it's just the same cycle of impatience If I was Promobricks I'd withhold the information out of sheer annoyance
  21. It's so frustrating seeing comments over and over again how Deathly Hallows sets won't get made because they're too dark. It's like a game of telephone where we took one little comment from a designer and conflated it over time. They never said they would never make Deathly Hallow sets because they were too dark. They said they wanted to focus on the earlier movies for the first waves because they're not as dark and would appeal more to children. Which makes sense when you're reintroducing a theme that you want to keep relevant to all buyers. It doesn't mean we're never getting DH sets! Can we please stop this narrative before we manifest it!
  22. I love Harry Potter LEGO so much, I'm a die hard playset completionist til the end. Only sets I don't have are the art set (does that even count?) and Fawkes and Icons, but I got all those figures for cheap online. I'll keep buying their weaker sets like this new wave if it means they'll keep making Harry Potter, cause even with last year's weaker line, there are some amazing pieces sprinkled throughout
  23. I actually prefer the grates for this exact reason. Displaying mini figures in these new sets has been, admittedly, a lot more dynamic
  24. New sets reveal tomorrow!!
  25. To play devil's advocate, I don't think a $470 Hogwarts expansion is totally impossible. Most of the pieces are very common, and LEGO likely wouldn't produce that many sets knowing the demand wouldn't be so high. That hefty price could offset the small audience (probably most of us on this thread) that would purchase this
