  1. I got the Death Star early through LAN and I actually prefer it without the GWP. The empty space makes the hangar feel grander and more epic. Also while I love the Death Star set the GWP is ugly imo I personally much prefer the way Harry Potter has done their GWPs, where you do not need to buy the actual collectors set to get the GWP. I'd be really bummed if they changed that.
  2. A gingerbread Hogwarts set would be so awesome
  3. I haven't seen many requests for this, but I really hope for a D2C Quidditch Pitch! Kinda surprised we've gotten more Flying Lessons sets in this reboot than Quidditch fields.
  4. We're off to see the Wizard! The Wizard of Oz (1939) is the most iconic film of all time, and it deserves a proper licensed LEGO set. I created this MOC to display my CMF figs. This MOC depicts the key aspects of the movie in a compact and fun display. Start Dorothy's journey over the rainbow with Munchkinland, complete with Dorothy's house landing on the Wicked Witch of the East. Follow the Yellow Brick Road to find the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion in their habitats, and wind up in the poppy field in front of the grand Emerald City. Behind the Emerald City is the hall with the Wizard, who hides behind a curtain with gifts for Dorothy's new friends. To the right of the build is the Wicked Witch of the West's castle, with a play feature - pull out the floor to make her melt! This build contains 1,160 parts, all made from the existing color palette. There are 8 minifigures - Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, the Wicked Witch of the West, Glinda, a Munchkin, and the Wizard of Oz. And Toto too! I uploaded this to Ideas too if you want to check it out there: IDEAS LINK! With more pics! Thanks for checking out this MOC, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!
  5. Didn't we get Rufus Scrimgeour in that accessory set?
  6. Very excited to see the Boathouse, especially with those clips that makes me think.... I bet we're going to get a new Great Hall and Grand Staircase Tower this connects to. I'm confident enough to say: mark this reply down for when that happens!
  7. Thank you!! This line up looks so fantastic. Bonus points for the clever positioning of shelves to get the underground vaults to line up. Though seeing this does make me think that the giant pink Quidditch shop is a bit of an eyesore! I wonder why the designers went with pink instead of sand blue, which would be more accurate?
  8. Can someone please upload a photo of Gringotts connected to the left of Diagon Alley? Inquiring eyes that can't purchase the set yet would be most appreciative!
  9. It is wild to me that all of these reviews are out and there isn't a single view of DA in a line with Gringotts at the far left end!
  10. This set is awesome!! On LEGO's site, it shows large printed galleon pieces... do we think these are life size LEGO galleons? Super cool if those pair with all of the other life size LEGO HP stuff. Though I would've much preferred LEGO using that print budget on the Gringotts sign instead. Those wretched stickers are my only complaint
  11. While I agree the new modular is absolutely stunning, it really would look perfect with a proper Grand Staircase Tower. I wish they had made Dumbledore's office more round!
  12. Remember the years and years of dead Eurobricks HP threads? Seeing this new combined Hogwarts makes me so happy. This 2023 wave may not be the best since 2018, but the fact we have so much LEGO Harry Potter content since the 2018 reboot makes me so giddy. We're getting everything I could have possibly wished for when the theme ended in 2011. I find it hard to complain too much with remakes, since it just means that HP is selling well and LEGO wants it to last :)
  13. I'm going to cut through the hate with positive optimism and excitement! It's not like the OG movies are disappearing forever This is just more Harry Potter content, and with that a greater potential for more Harry Potter LEGO. Hopefully we get scenes from the books that originally got cut!
  14. All of these are fantastic! Would love to have instructions or files for these to build them!
  15. Since it is the day before the new 2023 sets release, here is.. The (unofficial) Eurobricks HP Forum Top 10 Set Ranking of LEGO HP from 2018-2022: 1. Diagon Alley 2. Attack on the Burrow 3. 12 Grimmauld Place 4. Astronomy Tower 5. Hagrid's Hut 6. Great Hall 7. D2C Hogwarts Castle 8. Hogsmeade Village 9. Clock Tower 10. Shrieking Shack Two 2022 sets cracked the list, with 12 Grimmauld Place making top 3! The Astronomy Tower and Hagrid's Hut have gone up in popularity, while the D2C Hogwarts Castle, Great Hall, and Clock Tower all dropped a few spots. Otherwise, we are pretty consistent in our opinions - the top 8 from last year remained in our top 10. We'll see how Gringotts impacts this list at the end of the year! Last year's list: 1. Diagon Alley 2. Attack on the Burrow 3. Great Hall 4. Clock Tower 5. D2C Hogwarts Castle 6. Hagrid's Hut 7. Astronomy Tower 8. Hogsmeade Village Visit 9. Chamber of Secrets 10. The Rise of Voldemort
  16. I never thought this was possible before, but seeing the prices overtime and the amount of dedication to this theme.... it is not totally unrealistic to hope for an $1000+ Hogwarts
  17. No way it happens, but it would be wicked cool if the Gringotts underground was long enough to stack the entire DA on top of it too
  18. A true Battle of Hogwarts set is absolutely necessary- a destroyed courtyard and towers with exploding functions would be brilliant! If the designers can figure out a way to make the final Expelliarmus/Avada Kedavra blast work with the new wand pieces, that would be the cherry on top.
  19. Happy New Year everyone!! A fun way to start the new year and the new thread: The Eurobricks Forum's Top 10 LEGO Harry Potter Sets 2018-2022! When I did this last year, I asked everyone to name their top 10 sets. I realized there were a wide range of sets that filled out the 8-10 ranking. A better way would be to name a top 15, so the ones that are on the bottom of people's lists are better represented. Choose your top 15, and I will compile the results in a week or so- excited to see what everyone picks! To start, here are my top 15: 1. Attack on the Burrow 2. 12 Grimmauld Place 3. Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition 4. Privet Drive 5. Diagon Alley 6. Rise of Voldemort 7. Polyjuice Potion Mistake 8. Astronomy Tower 9. Hagrid's Hut 10. Clock Tower 10. Great Hall 11. Ministry of Magic 12. Chess 13. Beauxbaton's Carriage 14. Shrieking Shack 15. GWP Hogwarts Staircase
  20. I kind of want to make my own Hermione and Ron for an Epilogue display, but the Cursed Child play versions! And Scorpius and Draco too. Would add some nice variance to the movie-focused display of all my other sets. Jl.bricks on Instagram has posted some great options to make the movie versions with real LEGO elements.
  21. You think people will sell the HE alone for 150?? I imagine at least 250... it's well over half of the set
  22. Obsessed with this set!! $500 is a lot but I think it's worth it for the size and quality. Love the Cursed Child figures, wish we got Scorpius too. Would be nice to have some queer representation. Though am I crazy for thinking these renders look off? The photos look straight out of Stud.io with minimal texturing... and much less realistic than standard LEGO digitalizations
  23. I think a dreidel top is really nice to include if intentional. It's not like anything in this calendar is overtly Christmas
  24. Oof this Advent Calendar is a tough pill for a completionist to swallow. On the plus side, some of these builds (Hogwarts Express, Knight Bus, Burrow, Tree with lake and Dementor) will be cute to put alongside the microscale Hogwarts D2C. Also love the Voldemort variant! What the heck is the thing behind the Triwizard cup though?!
  25. We're in the golden age of LEGO Harry Potter! How lucky we are to be alive right now! I've browsed Eurobricks for over a decade, and I remember how devastating the Harry Potter phase out was in 2011. I know I'm not alone in checking the forum every few months from 2011-2017 hoping for a hint at a resurgence. Even if all sets aren't 100% perfect, the quality and quantity of what we've gotten is beyond what I could have dreamed of. Especially after thinking we would never see LEGO Harry Potter again!
