Looks great so far.... I would play around with the stern a little bit..Its too plain looking needs some decorations.. perhaps a small balcony on the upper gallery........ but it is coming along nicely...
-
Looks good... just one question... how much room in on the gundecks? headroom that is..... cant wait to see it....

Well Captain Green Hair posted that ship on this forum when he was showing how he rigged his ships.... I am just very observant and noticed that it wasn't his frigate or his brig, but a new ship.....An I am just keeping my fellow pirates on there toes when i see a large naval ship..... An plus it was posted on brickshelf where it can be seen by everyone..... so if somebody doesn't want a moc discussed or seen by the public, then don't post it!

Your right.. We need to get a few people together to collaborate and then post the info on the different cannons sizes.. then we should poll... and i agree that they are large... I would say 18 pounders fit the bill..... So if there is anyone out there who knows about cannons, please post your knowledge... Until then it looks like Im going to wikipedia....

Yea Captain Green Hair that be the ship im talking about... NOt the Denise...

What size does everybody think the lego system cannons are... Are they 12 pounders, 18 pounders, etc.. I think we should come to an agreement on an official size of the lego system cannons for this forum. What does everyone think? -TGREEN

No problem... I liked the movie... except when the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman Destroy the Endeavor in about one minute.. It took hours of fighting to just put a ship of the line out of commission and it was rare that a ship of a line would sustain enough damage to sink.. The Endeavor could have put up a heck of a fight in real life... I bet the Flying Dutchman would have taken longer to defeat than the Black Pearl due to the fact that the flying dutchman was a two decked ship of the line... I would guess she was about a 64 gun ship. I believe the Black Pearl is a medium sized galleon. Or she could be a merchant ship that has had portholes and cannons added.. She has a high stern castle which supports my first two conclusions. -Tgreen

I know for a fact that the Endeavour in POTC is a three decked ship of the line. It does not have four or five deck. It is exactly like the HMS Victory. Here is a screen shot from the movie.

I see in your brickshelf folder that you have constructed a two decked ship of the line that has nothing posted about it... When will we get to see it... It looks great from what i can see!

Admiral Bejaune replied to Admiral Bejaune's topic in LEGO Pirates
The minifigs on my mocs are scaled at 5ft 7 inches, since that was the average height i the age of sale. Thanks everyone for the input and answers to my questions. Oh and whoever has visited the HMS Victory can they private message me to answer some questions. My ship under construction is a ship of he line from that time period. Thanks -
How tall are Pirate mini-figures wearing bandanas
Admiral Bejaune replied to Admiral Bejaune's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes the minifig measurement is for a gundeck, or should I say gundecks.. I do not have any of my mocs here with me so i wanted to make sure i was correct on the scale of my new wip. My new moc ship is going to be exactly to scale. So keep an eye out for it.. PS it might take some time to fully complete.. -
Can someone measure a pirate minifig for me.. just one with a bandanna on... I dont have a minifig handy right now... thanks.. oh yea in inches please.... thanks

I love the two ships... great entries.... can the creators of the merchant high castle ship and the creator of the whaler make entries just on the ships themselves... would love to know more about them.... also I am in the middle of creating a new ship of the line and another heavy frigate....the ship of the line is going to have a brick hull and be as close to correct minifig scale as possible and based on the santisima trinidad.... so keep an eye out.....
-
I like the ships they are nice... however the first smaller frigate is not a frigate but a corvette or if it is an English ship it is a sloop of war.... the large frigate looks great so far......
-
its going to be a large ship... I do not like all of the black as well... change the decking colors... other than that it looks good so far..
-
Yes I will post more about my ships in detail.... My ship of the line has an interior so i will post more pictures of that... The only problem though is I just moved to Los Angeles and my ships haven't made port out here yet so it might take a week or so... but i will post giving details about all of my creations. One other thing I forgot to ask... Do you think the 74 gun ship that i have posted is in minifig scale?
