For some reason I can’t quote the rest of your comment, but that’s okay. On the subject of minfigures, in a perfect timeline, there would be one minifig for every hundred pieces. Unfortunately, this is not the perfect timeline. (Although it’s not the darkest either) UCS sets are not really designed to have a ton of figures, even if they are minifig scale. IIRC, the ones with the most are the Sandcrawler, Assault on Hoth, and the Falcon. The Ewok Village is not technically a UCS. Only a few of the Sandcrawler ones are not brick built, I think four or five? The Falcon was the largest set of all time, so it at least got a few. AOH is a weird one, but that’s because it was essentially a MBS and was widely criticized. I suppose the argument could be made that the fan vote meant that they should have put more in, they never said how many, and it seems fair to temper expectations. As to your point about the stand and extra bits, that is a very legitimate point. I think that adding in the speeders seems unlikely as few UCS sets have side builds, other than the three above. My main point about stability I still feel stands—look at the doors on brickvault’s gunship—they are really off. I want to add one last thing, since things here can get kind of out of hand once in a while, and I don’t want this conversation to go on that path, even if it does not seem like it will—I disagree with your opinion, but I respect it. -

For the record, I think a UCS turbo tank would be great, and you make some very interesting points and bring a great new perspective to the table. That said, I think there are a few things that make this different. I got into following leaks a couple weeks after the vote finished. I probably would have voted for the Nebulon B since it had never been made, and could never have a system scale set, and I wanted a system scale gunship. I was really hoping it would be around $200 and brickvault scaled, but on reflection, that was probably naive of me. First— a minifig scale UCS gunship is almost impossible by legos standards. At the size it would have to be done, they would either sacrifice detail, space, or stability. It would have to be huge to achieve the detail of UCS sets. Second—The expectations for this set were largely unreasonable. You seemed very fair and prudent in your vote, so I can respect that, but many wanted it to have Rex, Cody, Fives, 5 p1 troops, and 5 p2, plus pilots and Bob. These fans were setting themselves up for disappointment. Third—We did not know the price until recently, and a $200 dollar or more minifig scale Gunship cannot really be done. Perhaps LEGO miscalculated how many people wanted a minifig scale Gunship, but the vote was for a UCS set, and the gunship just doesn’t lend itself well to a minifig scale and well detailed gunship. -

I know, but it is so specific that that ship only has fireworks...it’s kind of funny to ironically rage against. -

Ragnarok had that major flaw of giving the ship in the ultimate battle for Asgard blasters, which always drove me insane... -

This is sort of based on @cosmic’s comment, but I feel like Endgame sets are hated on too much—they weren’t movie accurate, but there was not a ton they could have done without spoiling it. Instead, they did a bit of a legacy wave, and it had probably the best Quinjet ever made, the highly requested Hall of Armor, a weird but cool Hulkbuster variant, at least a version of the compound, which could have been used for a great template, although heavily overpriced. I will agree the other two sets are jokes, but they did have nice figures. -

I’m just kinda freewheeling here, but we did spend much of the last few days talking about how LEGO is trying to stop leakers, how we will react when we do get the news, and a fair bit of bashing of @KA1. Is it possible we spooked them? -

I definitely forgot about the FB thing. I will replace it with a Crookshanks build, cause there has to be a statue in there somewhere (I would love a pigwigeon based on the games, but one can only dream). While it is rare, there have been D2Cs based on sets that have come out only one year before or after—look at the Star Wars Snowspeeders, Hulkbuster, even the D2C Hogwarts is mostly GH based. That said, you are probably right, but it is not impossible. The same is true for the Hogsmeade, as there have been sets that connect to each other released in the same year, like the Ghost and Phantom, Helm’s Deep and the extension, Benatar and Thor’s Weapon Quest—but those are all one large set with one small set. I could see two Hogsmeade sets in one year as disappointing, however. -

I’ll take you up on that @Retro Brick Reviews. 250–I agree, it probably will be Gringotts. That said, I also think a D2C Burrow could happen. 120–Hogsmeade, but with only three stores: Zonkos, Shack, and Hogs Head. That said, this will probably be a Hogwarts extension 60–Quidditch set, but with six hoops and 2 stands 30–Smaller Hogwarts extensions, like the rest of the forbidden corridor. 40–Niffler -

A quick question to any who may know—since MandR is out of LAN, can he leak again, or is it too risky? Given what our leaker friends have told us, it seems to be the latter, and LEGO used a copyright strike instead of requesting him to take it down (which they possibly did, we just don’t know) it may not matter that he is no longer in the network. IIRC, he had a list of HP sets and was planning to leak them. That said, it might have just been the June wave. -

I am actually kind of surprised we haven’t had a ton of hidden jokes in the sets. With the upcoming Vidiyo sets, there is a great opportunity for a Rickroll, so I hope they do that... -

What if FF is trying to throw us off the trail or something? He doesn’t seem like the kind of person to do that, but I’m really hoping that’s what it is. If it’s not MCU, what could it be? The Avengers Mansion? It does not feel quite as iconic as the tower, at least not for most people. -

Supposedly a leaker is going to reveal who will be playing a live action “lost” character in the Ahsoka series who is not blue—I’m giving a vague description because I don’t know how to mark spoilers. Anyway, we will hopefully get them as a character! -
