  1. The moment 10358 Soundwave was revealed with Ravage and Laserbeak, I knew I needed to build the rest of his cassette family! Rumble/Frenzy/Enemy The brand new design - I have to thank IG user daylight_neon for doing an early version, which I then reworked into this. I leaned in more with toy accuracy, especially with Frenzy(Blue)'s colours, and the leg detailing and transformation; I also took a bit of inspiration from the Masterpiece figures - it was also fun to make Enemy, who is quite an obscure toy-only character. I designed their piledrivers and guns, although unfortunately because of the torso design, partsforming the round tape reels is necessary if you want shoulder articulation; the upper bicep is also a part which is slightly under pressure because of the erling brick - it can be swapped with the stud facing out if you want, although it would make it wider than soundwave's door, and leave a gap in the middle. Slugfest He was an interesting one to figure out; I started with Ravage and then I realized I could just flip the way the body/spine transforms, so the outer edges of the cassette would be facing upwards. Magenta is a surprisingly rare colour, so I worked in the red of his cassette mode into the feet as those pieces do not exist in that colour. Ratbat/Wingthing With what I said earlier about the rarity of magenta, I'm still surprised I managed to make Ratbat! I used Laserbeak as a base since I thought the wing opening hinge was a good starting point, then I took some inspiration from the Masterpiece toy to work in the light grey into the wing and make it stable. the chest is designed in a way that you can replace the 1x1 tile with the printed decepticon logo one from the Soundwave set, since you get a spare. Wingthing was much easier to build as orange/keetorange is more common. I'm working on more cassettes at the moment, and I've made instructions available on rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/users/Admiraltyphoon/mocs/
  2. Thank you all for the kind comments! Thanks! Yeah that is true, especially with the way the front transforms into the feet, I had to keep the bonnet within a certain curvature to make it look good, but at least the front being flat instead of rounded did help to give more space, so it kinda worked out in the end! There wasn't much I could do about the shoulders, so I leaned in more with the angles of the Porsche 924 to make his silhouette a bit more different from Bumblebee's. Thank you! The bazooka and especially the jet skis were one of the main reasons why I wanted to do this. Thanks! Yes, there was a moment where I tried to keep the windscreen on, but it was either squishing the car middle section too much or severely limiting the leg movement.
  3. The little red devil of the Autobots! Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The moment rumors started going around of Bumblebee being a set I already knew I had to build him. Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Reverse engineering Bee from the initial pictures was also a fun challenge, and then redesigning (reshelling? Retooling?) the body to be more like his G1 Porsche alt-mode, where I was able to fit in some improvements like the double folding rear window, so there’s no panel behind his head and using the windscreen to fill out his back more. Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr His most iconic guns include his blaster and bazooka cannon he used in More Than Meets The Eye, but the Glass Gas Cannon is another part of his arsenal! In some episodes he was also able to transform it out of his wrist. Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Before his era of being relegated to being a red Bumblebee repaint, Cliffjumper transformed into a Porsche 924 Turbo. Because of the proportions of the bumblebee set, I chose to do a mix of the chibi-ness of the cartoon model, the original Penny Racer toy, and detailing from the real car. Transformers: G1 Cliffjumper by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr In certain G1 episodes CJ transforms his wheels into skis to glide onto water, and it’s been one of those unique accessories that still gets referenced in modern and third party toys of him, so I figured I’d give it a try at replicating them. His Bazooka can also mount right on top! Autobots by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr With Optimus that makes a trio - Here's hoping LEGO makes the next Icons TF a decepticon to even the cast a bit. "Autobots, Transform and roll out!" Autobots by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr I've made instructions for CJ and his accessories, as well as some other mods for Bee available on rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-191849/Admiraltyphoon/transformers-g1-cliffjumper/#details
  4. 10 years on, the Buggoid swarm’s plan to expand throughout the galaxy continues to be thwarted by the Galaxy Squad Corps. However, intel from Blue Squad scoutings and and increasing number of failed missions have been building up proof of the emergence of a new creature from their hives. T.B.E-1: Void Swarmer by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Subject T.B.E-1, Nicknamed “Void Swarmer” for its sudden and invasive appearances, stands out as an unmanned insectoid flyer, with large pincers and sharp spiked legs. Its thorax is covered by the signature bug carapace armor and features 2 pairs of wings, with an unknown type of techno-organic propulsive system on the forewings. T.B.E-1: Void Swarmer by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The underside of T.B.E-1 features a valved opening and vestigial arms, with the function of holding and weaving victims into cocoons, suggesting the presence of an internal organ that produces said material - these cocoons then either get planted or stored in its abdomen. T.B.E-1: Void Swarmer by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The abdomen is capable of storing up to 4 cocoons, and are protected by lateral elytra; some intel indicates that several have been spotted carrying an insectoid egg - it is unknown if this is a self-defense mechanism or has resources that help speed up the hatching process. Command hopes that the newest set of Tech-NIK Corp. models will aid in pushing back against this new bio-engineered beast, along with providing more information about these species, to prevent any further evolution and expansion. And so ends my Galaxy Squad 10th anniversary update series! I'm hoping to buy the parts in this new year to make these IRL and display them at shows.
  5. 10 years on, the fight of the Galaxy Squad Corps against the Buggoid swarm rages on. Over the years the Corps have upgraded their machinery to repel the increasing enemy forces, and in 2023 the Tech-NIK Corporation produced a brand-new upgraded line-up of vehicles to assist in their fight. NoVVember 2023: GS-R "Viper" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The Red Squad’s speedy streak continues with the GS-R “Viper” Orbital Velocity Striker, a unique starfighter model developed for a variety of missions, ranging from rapid strikes to rescue ops, including a recovery bay behind the pilot’s seat, and clamps to secure cocoons to the lower fuselage, where cryo-plates slow the harvesting process to improve chances of survival. NoVVember 2023: GS-R "Viper" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Tech-NIK’s U-JT joint tech is in full use here, allowing the dual engine & blaster units to rotate for maximum maneuverability & control in space. This transformative technology was developed with their biggest attempt to integrate the AI Assistant Robot drone with the new model range, as the Red AI drone is fully capable of taking control of the ship for close quarters combat, allowing the Red Squad pilot to focus on rescue missions or additional firepower support. NoVVember 2023: GS-R "Viper" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The drone is still able to disengage from the ship and function as a speeder drone for fast retrieval or hit & run missions. I've been so busy with work that I forgot to post it here right at the end of Novvember - The Upgraded Galaxy Squad is now complete, but they still need a threat to fight soon...

Over the years the Corps have upgraded their machinery to repel the increasing enemy forces, and in 2023 the Tech-NIK Corporation produced a brand-new upgraded line-up of vehicles to assist in their fight. Mechtober 2023: GS-O "Arcangelo" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr With a heavy focus on offensive capabilities, the GS-O “Arcangelo” Armored Suit unit was uniquely developed for the Orange Squad to improve the mobility of their defensive/offensive capabilities, pushing to the limit the range of Tech-NIK Corp’s R-T Heavy Load joint system in conjunction with tube armor framing, a practical design choice from a previous model. Mechtober 2023: GS-O "Arcangelo" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Their PI-O Modular Connection system is also in use here to equip the suit with Railgun and Electro-blade attachments, on top of the shoulder mounted rocket pods, with more modules in development to provide support for a wider range of missions. Mechtober 2023: GS-O "Arcangelo" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Where it lacks in aerial mobility the AI Assistant makes up for it, with the brain module inserted into a Flying Wing drone, able to integrate onto the Arcangelo’s shoulders to provide additional armor and visual feedback from the head unit, as well as improved transport capabilities thanks to its VTOL thruster units. Continuing my Galaxy Squad series with Orange Squad and Mechtober, now with the Red Squad left (Novvember), and ending the year with an insectoid...
  7. Thanks! it was one of my favourite parts to work on, especially as the top 2 ones (t-rex megatron and optimus primal) are a fun combination of SNOT and upside down techniques. Oh yeah it was definitely meant for studio series/generations figures, especially now that they're delving more into beast wars stuff. I still don't have 10302, but I've been told he's a tall one, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stood up all the way to the top of the walls.
  8. I wasn't sure where to put it exactly, but since it's related to Transformers I guess it can go here. [MOC] Temple of the Golden Sun Disk by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Millennia ago, a civilisation witnessed the wars between beasts over a mysterious golden disk, an artefact said to contain secrets of ancient past…and far future. They safeguarded the shining “disco del sol” in a temple deep in the jungles, hidden from the tyrannical jaws of evil. With it, they carved into its walls the legend of these brave and fearsome beast machines. [MOC] Temple of the Golden Sun Disk by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr With the passing of time the civilisation fell, and with it the whereabouts of the temple. [MOC] Temple of the Golden Sun Disk by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Now, it has been found again, and various faces of good and evil are on the verge of clashing for its power again… [MOC] Temple of the Golden Sun Disk by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr This is the first of my shelf dioramas made for my Transformers! My idea started when I was quickly running out of space for the few shelves in my Kallax unit I’d allocated for transformers when I got back into them some years ago - what started as a raised platform eventually got to the idea of a diorama scene that works for photoshoots as well. The recent Rise of The Beasts was the main inspiration because I liked the idea of mixing the Beast Wars story with the various Mesoamerican civilisations, most notably integrating the Golden Disk from the show with the Mayan/Inca disks, and carved/built wall murals of the maximals and predacons (can you guess which ones are on each column?).
  9. For the "vehicles and mounts" category of TTV's GWP style Build contest I remade the Boxor, one of my most favourite vehicles in the whole of Bionicle. I originally made it in studio, and then I've been gathering the parts to make it IRL for the past week or so. Boxor (GWP Style) by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr I liked the mechanics of the original, but I wanted to try and give it a wider range of articulation, so I kept the same linkage designs but with balljoints instead, so the arms and feet can pivot, and the legs can splay outwards! Boxor (GWP Style) by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The back, just like the original, has a tohunga arm for its spine, and can hinge back for the cockpit top to hinge up and fit in Nuparu (or any other GWP style tohunga), which actually stays in place with a single stud on the seat, so you can actually have it look around without the top pressing on his head. Boxor (GWP Style) by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr I've also made instructions available on Rebrickable, so you can build it yourself! https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-145743/Admiraltyphoon/bionicle-boxor-gwp-style/#details
  10. Yeah! I wanted to make it look similar to what the M.U.L.E does in-game, and the slots in that 2x2 brick looked the closest.
  11. "Rock and Raid!" Marchikoma 2023: M.U.L.E-Koma by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Just a fun triple mashup I thought about, mixing the M.U.L.E from the game Deep Rock Galactic with the Tachikoma shaping for extra crystal storage space, then giving it the iconic Rock Raiders colours to go even deeper with the mining theme!
  12. 10 years on, the fight of the Galaxy Squad Corps against the Buggoid swarm rages on. Over the years the Corps have upgraded their machinery to repel the increasing enemy forces, and in 2023 the Tech-NIK Corporation produced a brand-new upgraded line-up of vehicles to assist in their fight. Marchikoma 2023: GS-G “MagnaKoma” by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr As the main line of defence, the GS-G “MagnaKoma” Heavy-class model was uniquely developed for the Green Squad to improve the mobility of their defensive/offensive capabilities, making efficient use of Tech-NIK Corp’s R-T Heavy Load joint system and their BB tyre model. Marchikoma 2023: GS-G “MagnaKoma” by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr It is equipped with a frontal beam Gatling gun, a pair of mechanic arms, and a missile launcher pod module. Marchikoma 2023: GS-G “MagnaKoma” by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr To further support the defensive and offensive capabilities of this mobile tank, the Green AI Assistant robot’s brain module was duplicated and placed into 2 artillery drones, integrated within the MagnaKoma‘s “abdomen” module. A build for this years' Marchikoma challenge, and in homage of 10 years since Galaxy Squad!
  13. 10 years on, the fight of the Galaxy Squad Corps against the Buggoid swarm rages on. Over the years the Corps have upgraded their machinery to repel the increasing enemy forces, and in 2023 the Tech-NIK Corporation produced a brand-new upgraded line-up of vehicles to assist in their fight. Febrovery 2023: GS-B "DuneRunner" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr At the forefront of this is the GS-B Light Reconnaissance Vehicle for the Blue Faction, nicknamed “DuneRunner” for its superb and speedy performance over the rocky dunes of outer space, thanks to the TT Suspension technology by Tech-NIK Corp. Febrovery 2023: GS-B "DuneRunner" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr In an attempt to gain a significant edge over the insects, the AI Assistant Robot program is also undergoing an experimental upgrade, inserting their AI brain modules into full-sized drone vehicles, which are fully integrated into the newest machinery. Febrovery 2023: GS-B "DuneRunner" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Febrovery 2023: GS-B "DuneRunner" by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr A build for this years' Febrovery (a bit late, I know) and as a homage of 10 years since Galaxy Squad - more builds to come!
