Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Roonil Wazlib replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been thinking ever since I saw the new X-wing and TIE fighter that they might be making cheaper sets because people have less disposable income due to our supreme overlords destroying everyone's businesses. -

Yeah... it's just what I thought it was going to be. Seems like cheaper sets with less detail is LEGO's new approach. Personally, I'm not a fan, but oh well. Hogsmeade doesn't look too bad, but Honeyduke's isn't colourful enough. Might pick up that one, but the rest are a pass -

I wouldn't mind a big Hogwarts Express if it came with Hogsmeade Station or maybe even a viaduct to display with it. I feel like it would need something else to make it worthwhile, otherwise you could just bricklink the extra passenger cars. -

I agree. Diagon Alley was such a pleasure to build; I was looking forward to building Hogsmeade in that scale. There's still a chance that it will look good, though. @Scarlet_Patronus made some really nice looking Hogsmeade MOCs at a smaller scale. After reading that the new sets will be less detailed and also Guyon's warning about lowering expectations, I can't help but think the theme is taking the same route as 2021 Star Wars (smaller scale, lower prices, with a dip in quality). -

Glad everyone seems to be happy with the new lineup. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed. If the anniversary modular line is temporary, having the Bathroom, Fluffy, and the Chamber of Secrets for the anniversary line makes it pretty unlikely that they'll do these when they return to the 2018 modular line. If it's not temporary, well then... the 2018 line is dead. Either way, I'm sad. As for Hogsmeade, I'm not sure if they'll ever make the Hog's Head or other Hogsmeade buildings now that they won't have Honeydukes or the Three Broomsticks to package it with. I'm a bit concerned about the price point of the upcoming set since I was hoping for something more like DA scale, but maybe it'll look good. Lastly, the Advent calendar doesn't seem to be very "Christmassy" from what we have to go on. Hopefully I'll change my mind after seeing what they look like, but I'm pretty bummed. -

They're probably gonna want to include all of the trio in the Advent calendar. Given that Ron doesn't attend the party, I reckon we'll end up getting the green polo version of him again if it does turn out to be Slug Club themed. Is there any chance at all that they update the figure for the calendar and give him the short sleeves he ought to have? -

Obviously the faces are going to be stylised, but I totally agree about the hair. It's a bit too cartoonised. I think the blonde characters (especially the Malfoys) would look much better with tan wigs. -

Totally forgot about the possibility of getting Malfoy in his all-black suit. That figure alone would make a Slug party Advent calendar worth it. Cormac is a good second. As for the third: how about the vampire? Sanguini, I think his name is. Not very "Christmassy" though. Also, technically not the same scene, but maybe they could give us a Ginny figure in her black dress from the first Slug Club meeting. -

Agreed. Plus, doing Christmas at the Burrow would give us a chance at getting a proper Burrow-Ron, since they reused his Prisoner of Azkaban sweater torso for the set. In the real scene, he wears this really interestingly patterned sweater over his green polo. We could also get Harry in his plaid shirt. Hell, they could also give us a plate of mince pies while they're at it -

$230 seems a bit steep for just Gringotts and I don't see it being paired with Borgin & Burkes as they don't really feature in the same film, but who knows. I'd absolutely love to get Borgin & Burkes eventually, but I suspect it will probably be stand-alone if we get it. If it is Gringotts, hopefully it will be paired with another Diagon Alley shop so we can start building the opposite side of the street. Hogsmeade has been brought up a few times as well for the $230 set. Could be possible. But hey, I'm just gonna throw something out here that I don't think has been mentioned before.... How about a "UCS" Quidditch Pitch? -

I got one at the LEGO Store when I bought The Burrow; the cashier just threw it in my bag as a gift. I'd try calling your nearest LEGO store to see if they have it. Anyway, I've got to say: building Diagon Alley has me absolutely begging for a Grimmauld Place at this scale. The doorway to the Daily Prophet building with the narrow hallway and everything reminds me of it a lot. And also, the little room with the dresser and rug above Scribbulus reminds me of that room where Harry gets attacked by the Monster Book in the Leaky Cauldron. I definitely wouldn't say no to a Leaky Cauldron set either. -

Actually if you look closely at pictures you can see that Emma Watson does indeed have freckles. I do hope they switch to the CMF2 print though; it's the first one they've used that actually looks like her. -

Bricklink has a complete set listed for about $60. They also have individual bags listed for cheap as well. -

Yeah I really hope they don't do any remakes. I have to admit, I'm kind of worried that they'll remake the Great Hall with a better tower. Then it will be a question of, do we want to spend $100+ on a different version of a set we already have? It would probably have new minifigures as well. And where will it end? I don't want to get roped into continually buying new versions of existing sets just for small improvements and new minifigures. I'm starting to sound as anxious as Hannah Abbott during OWLs lol -

Woah, that is A LOT of new material. I suppose we may get a new OT Y-Wing when the Andor series rolls around, so I might hold off on that. None of these are in the prequel era it seems, so I'm not sure what the chances are of getting a new Sith Infiltrator or Naboo Starfighter. How much more do you think they can improve upon sets they've already made? (I'm thinking of that new Imperial Shuttle that doesn't really look as nice as the Tydirium they did a few years ago). -

Do you guys think they've peaked with the remakes? I've been eyeing some retired sets on Bricklink, but I'm afraid of jumping the gun and finding out afterward that they're coming out with a new version that looks way better. For instance, the Y-Wing from Rogue One, or some of the 2015 Phantom Menace sets.
