  1. If there is a next year... kidding. What would this thread be without your optimism? I've got enough for $120. The hard part for me is deciding whether to buy cheaper on Bricklink or buy on SOH for the points I feel like if we were getting Gringotts then we wouldn't have been told to lower our expectations or that no one could predict this wave, but hopefully I'm wrong!
  2. I saved up so many VIP points knowing this year would be expensive, and now I might only be buying like one or two sets lol
  3. The order changes depending on the film, and I don't think there's an official layout from the books either. The buildings in the set are all on one side in the films, so there's really no "right order" if you display them front-to-front. I will say, they do look really good displayed that way though, especially if you take some close-up photos. I just did Ollivanders and QQS on one side facing WWW and Flourish & Blotts on the other and it looked nice.
  4. And a chance at getting all the DA members in their cosy wintery clothes! Maybe they could use that knit hat/hair combo piece for Parvati and Luna.
  5. I don't hate it, but it's a bit boxy and the open roof doesn't look too good for display.
  6. I definitely want to see some cloisters; not sure how they'd do it though. I doubt this will happen, because it's not exciting enough for most kids, but I'd kill for an accurate library set. Maybe they could just do the Bodleian as an 18+ non-HP set lol Modular 12 Grimmauld Place
  7. Wow that is really beautiful.
  8. Do we even need to confirm? The D2C will obviously be microscale Diagon Alley.
  9. At least this time it was civil lol I'm gonna at least wait until we see what the interiors look like. You never know, they could end up being really good.
  10. There is a 0% chance any right-wing views make it into the game. If they did, I'd understand it if left-wing people lose interest in it, but that's just not realistic. The idea that someone would lose interest because one person involved has different views is preposterous. Imagine being right-wing. Almost all games, films, TV, music, etc. is made by left-wing people pushing far-left views. I think you guys should be able to deal with the very very few right-wing creative people who exist.
  11. I wouldn't. Every single person involved in anything I consume has to completely align with my views on everything, otherwise I automatically hate it.
  12. Yeah, that's the thing. The stacking modules concept could end up making these sets really fun to collect, if they do it right. From what we've seen so far with the prelims, they just look a little too crude (and in the case of the great hall/cos, way too crude). Up the design quality a bit and I'm sold. Imagine all the different rooms of the castle they could do: divination, proper common rooms, etc.
  13. I know I'm in the minority here, but I honestly wouldn't mind another Quidditch match. It would give us another set of hoops as well as a chance to get minifigures of some of the other players that we don't have yet. I'd love to finally get Angelina or Katie. edit: or Lee Jordan! Now that would be one cool looking figure if they do it right.
  14. I freaking LOVE Nick Hooper's scores. John Williams always sounds like John Williams but Nick Hooper really created the sound of the wizarding world. Out of all the soundtracks, I listen to his the most, though Prisoner of Azkaban might edge them out as my favourite just cause I'm a sucker for renaissance music. I hadn't read the books until after watching all the films, so the page-to-screen adaption never affected my opinion of them. I get why people who read the books first don't like it, but HBP is actually my favourite film of the series. Goblet of Fire on the other hand is just an overall bad film. Bad cinematography, bad score, bad character design, I could go on. Reading the book afterward and realising how horrible of an adaptation it was just makes me lament what could have been.
  15. It will be the first time I've hoped for that lol. It's an upside down world we're living in... Welcome to Lego Harry Potter 2021!
  16. Unless you plan on bricklinking all the minifigures from the sets you don't want lol
  17. Absolutely. I just don't think we'll be getting 5 sets like that a year like we used to. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.
  18. I actually kind of like the "stacking" idea, I just wish it was executed better. If the new style is part of their new business model across all themes, I don't see them changing back unless sales drop. It will depend mostly on how they're received by kids. It's interesting; it's almost as if they're widening the gap between the sets targeted to kids and the ones geared toward adults. The older style could appeal to both, but the newer style isn't really beautiful enough to be appreciated by adults (for the most part I mean, some of it isn't too bad).
  19. Great, thanks! This could be a must-buy for me now.
  20. That would be absolutely perfect. I appreciate the optimism lol. Fingers crossed for 2022! I haven't been able to find the pictures again, so I can't double-check. But I don't remember seeing any green. Is the entire door green? And the windows? Is there any pink?
  21. You just made me finally realise what the D2C is going to be! A 5:1 scale Bungy the waterskiing Budgie
  22. I'm surprised nobody is talking about the colour of Honeydukes. Am I missing something? Why is it brown? I could have sworn it was green and pink in the film. Or will the colours be different in the final version?
  23. Pictures of the June wave leaked
  24. It's not the government's job to "save us." Here in the USA we have this thing called the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We're supposed to be able to assess our own risks and make our own decisions. Or maybe you'd rather let Daddy Government dictate your every decision. I'm sure they'll let you know when it's safe to go outside again
