  1. Yeah pretty much! Honestly it was a great set! I have it
  2. Guy with the inappropriate facial expression strikes again! And he even brought you a complete parts list for this set in his video:
  3. Yes it is a very fun build! One of the best technic sets ever! I strongly recommend it
  4. the lego technic zetros was one of the best technic sets
  5. Thank you for the kind words!
  6. That sounds so awesome! I did something similar once to rebuild my 8043 motorized excavator!
  7. All LEGO needs to do is to make the ipa file for the robot inventor app available to download on their website, then it can be downloaded to iOS from the web. They can also do the same thing but with an apk for android
  8. With the beta apps, my point was that it is entirely possible to download apps from the web onto your iOS device. By removing the account requirement, and with a few tweaks, this could be a solution ready to be used by the general public! The mobile app does not have to remain on apple's or google's app stores, but rather, the mobile app can be stored on LEGO's servers, ready to be downloaded by anyone at any time. Regarding implementing missing functionality into the spike app, while I agree, I still think that the Robot Inventor app should continue to remain available. People need to be able to experience a set as if it were never discontinued. Also, programs you create in the spike app are saved as .llsp files, whereas the robot inventor programs are saved as .lms files. There are also a few other key differences in the apps that make compatibility challenging. Also the Robot Inventor app has far better documentation, tutorials, and more! Both of these apps are fundamentally different, and while bringing things like hub-to-hub communication to the Spike App would improve it, I do not believe that it is the ultimate solution.
  9. I really hope that LEGO will put official download links on their website. On the mindstorms section of the LEGO website, you can still download the software for the NXT, despite it being discontinued in 2013. And you can still download the software for the EV3. I strongly believe that LEGO will continue to provide people with downloads on their website. Maybe, once the Mindstorms theme gets removed from the website, the downloads can move to the Spike section. I still see people in my comments section believing that the Mindstorms Robot Inventor system requires a smart mobile device, such as an iPhone, and that it is impossible to use with a regular computer. The truth is, just like all of the previous generations of Mindstorms, the Robot Inventor's software is made primarily for the computer, windows and MacOS. It's just that, the software on both mobile and computers is so close, that they are almost identical. It's not a downgrade of the software, but rather, advanced features of the computer software finally being made available on mobile devices. In any case, some people got to experience LEGO's beta apps, such as beta access to the control+ app for review purposes. The download of the beta apps does not come from the iOS app store or the google play store, but rather, from a special website. This could be the exact way everyone can download the Robot Inventor software on their mobile devices once they get pulled from the mobile app stores. No need to have already downloaded the app on iOS or use an APK
  10. I think the single biggest complaint about the new powered up system is that it requires a smart device or computer in some fashion. People are concerned with the lack of software support in the future as well as phones/computers being a requirement for kids. There is simply no way to make sets purely rely on physical controllers. You will always need to reprogram the hub itself or the controller, using an external device to do so. While it may be a better solution, it still does not eliminate the necessity for a computer/smart device.
  11. I sent you a message on the LAN
  12. I strongly doubt LEGO will make technic sets with physical controllers. There are just too many issues that go along with them. I made a detailed video explaining why they are not the solution for technic sets.
  13. Before the discontinuation of Mindstorms, LEGO spent a ton of effort on the Mindstorms app, updating it regularly. They put in models into the app from fans like myself, constantly added new coding features, and much more! They recently added machine learning, and so much more! To me, it felt like the mindstorms app was receiving very intense development and hard work on the side of the mindstorms team. That being said, hopefully the powered up team is just as dedicated. Also I hope they directly consult with some fans and implement their desired features. My point is, LEGO is clearly capable of putting in a lot of effort into an app. Perhaps some of the mindstorms developers will get to work on the powered up app.
  14. It reminds me a lot of the emerald night train
  15. Hello, I am a LEGO Ambassador. Can I please have the ambassador tag?
  16. I disagree, the whole point of the new mindstorms was to build on and improve the powered up system. Mindstorms brought some of that insanity into the world of technic and powered up! Furthermore, it’s not just that, but it’s the community of mindstorms that was truly awesome. In the mid 2000s, Steve Hassenplug was a member of the mindstorms users panel. He suggested a new technic piece, nicknamed the hassenpin. And guess what? It was actually made by the official LEGO company. Look up what the hassenpin is! Today, it is a crucial component of every technic creation! I was also working very closely with the design team. They are truly the kindest people and they were ALWAYS open to suggestions from fans like myself. Sadly with the discontinuation of mindstorms, this level of 1-1 community interaction will be gone.
  17. I am truly heartbroken. This was my childhood! Mindstorms gave me a golden childhood. Nothing will ever be as magical as the time I built my first mindstorms NXT robot when I was 6 years old. All day every day, I would either build robots or watch mindstorms videos on YouTube. I was also fascinated with LEGO Mindstorms segways, and built some by Laurens Valk and HiTechnic. This came out of the blue. I did not expect this at all! I would like to address a common misconception. Lego was NOT abandoning the mindstorms line. Sure, in the days of the EV3, it seemed like it with complete silence and lack of updates. However, ever since the release of the 51515 set, we have been getting software updates VERY often. Fans such as myself were even given the opportunity to work directly together with the mindstorms design team. On August 1st of this year, LEGO has released a new mindstorms app update, one containing many new fan designed official models, including my very own creation, Neptunian. It seemed like everything was perfect, and that mindstorms would still stay strong for many years to come. And not only that, remember that they announced mindstorms machine learning very recently! That obviously took a lot of time to develop and because of all these things, this announcement genuinely SHOCKED me.
  18. I'm so glad you enjoyed my review. Only a very small minority of my thumbnails actually contain a surprised or similar facial expression, so I always had a more serious approach
  19. Personally, I believe that the Cat D11T Bulldozer 42131 will come with 2 control+ hubs as well as 8 motors. 2 motors for driving each track (4 total for driving to increase torque) and it may have 1 motor for raising and lowering of the blade, one motor for the tilt of the blade, one motor for raising and lowering the ripper, one motor for tilting the ripper. The upcoming bulldozer has a little less pieces than the 42100, but it is priced the same as that excavator, so in order to compensate for the fewer number of pieces, I believe that there will be one more motor than the 42100. Here are some of my wishlist functionalities. 1) Dual Differential Tank Drive. This would be the very first lego technic set with a dual differential tank drive! It would use 2 motors for driving and 2 motors for turning, so that it has the same torque while driving as other similar lego technic sets, like the 42100 excavator, which also uses 2 motors for driving. 2) Tank Suspension for the two tracks on either side. This would be the very first set to introduce track suspension. This set has about the same number of pieces as the 42100 excavator. However, most of the pieces of the 42100 go into the top superstructure. So the vast majority of the pieces from the upcoming bulldozer would go into the chassis itself. The two tracks on either side of this new bulldozer would be abnormally large for a lego technic set, so there will be plenty of room to include track suspension. This would be incredible! I believe that if this upcoming set includes either a dual differential tank drive, track suspension, or even both of these mechanisms together, then the new bulldozer will be one of the greatest LEGO Technic sets ever!
