  1. Model train enthusiasts have it...why not us AFOL's!?!?!?
  2. Appreciate your thoughts...there is a new hashtag #poorwishlist followed by #tryharder
  3. Thank you! I forget to check stories, you can tell I am not an Instagrammer! Gringotts for $80...no way, unless it is just the dragon itself...then we get Gringotts in the DA expansion? That seems strange...if you couldn't afford the DA expansion what would be the point of just buying the dragon on its own with no bank to put it in! And Quidditch for $60...maybe just the booth/stand with the minster etc... new figures? You wouldn't get much of Hogsmeade for $130 either. Thank you.
  4. I am there and see a list for every theme but HP, just a piece count and price point? Can you share your thoughts on what you think is wrong with the list...are you allowed to post the list on here for us?
  5. #legoleaks ??? I don't see it?
  6. I am in Canada but wouldn't cost much to throw those in an envelope with some card to protect them and pout them in the mail. Send me a private message so we can take this offline :)
  7. Not sure if this is allowed on the forum so forgive me if it is not. I bought the 4 classroom sets (which I totally could not afford to do!) to get the minifigures and add some pieces to my brick collection. Since I am not building the sets per se as they should be, I have the 4 sticker sheets left over. I was going to ebay them to try and offset a tiny bit of the cost of buying the sets but figured you good people here on the forum are much more dedicated and deserving than some random who buys them on ebay. If anyone would like to buy them please send me a message. They would be great for spares or if someone is doing a Hogwarts MOC I see them being of use. Again sorry if this is against the rules and if so I will remove the post right away.
  8. Agreed, it looks less like a book and more like......some weird boom box?!? It needed fewer varying brown tones and 'sections' so it was more consistent across the cover, really does not look much like the actual book in the film and looks like a bunch of random bits stuck together. I am pretty much a completist with these sets but this is my first hard no in a long time.
  9. Have the images of he classroom sets been removed from Instagram? I have scrolled and scrolled through the feed and don't se them?
  10. This made me laugh out loud, bravo! Years since I saw that episode but it instantly came flooding back and this is a perfect scenario to use the 'Steamed Hams' rationale.
  11. My CMF2 arrived today in Canada from The Minifigure Store in the UK. 3 weeks exactly. FYI for any Canadians that pre-ordered through them.
  12. Well there you go, definitely a trend. I wish mine had been under the line because yes you could just cut it off. I thought about cutting mine into 3 pieces, removing the bad bit then trying to line it up again but if it went wrong, I would have lost the sticker. My way with the overlay meant I had many chances to get it right. Weird how it is that 1 sticker each time...
  13. Maybe they will be worth millions in the future like the penny black upside down Victorian postage stamp in England all those years ago....or we just have a bad set haha. One or the other. 50/50. I have looked at it A LOT tonight and have made peace with my sticker overlay fix, but only after convincing myself that the sign on the store got damaged with Weasley firework and instead of using magic they got a muggle carpenter in to fix the sign with a new bit of wood on top of the old. Justified.
  14. AH got it, literally the tape! 29R0 for mine
  15. Sorry, when you say 'tape' what do you mean? On the actual shipping box?
  16. And you are in Cali I see and me Eastern Canada, so the issue is affecting sets all over the place, though I suppose they all originate in the same place for North America I think.
  17. It really does work and then you just have to get yourself over the OCD issues of knowing it is there haha. Have a glass of something strong to steady your nerves...and hand...and give it a go. Best thing is there are tons of left-over orange strips on the sticker sheet so if you get it wrong, just peel off the little strip you applied and try again and again. Took me 3 goes to get it perfect. I am pretty obsessive with my lego stickers in them being perfect, my daughter even some what sarcastically shouts "I need you sticker master" when she is building her own sets because she knows I MUST do it myself for her otherwise I freak out. 1st world problem I know, I will seek help!
  18. Love it, my little girl is almost 7 and I could see her loving something like this too, though it seems your time and skill both outweigh mine!
  19. Anyone encountered printing issues with the stickers for DA? Just built WWW last night an when I was applying one of the orange stickers 'MASTER' with txt I noticed a white printed line right across the sticker just under the word in between it and the very thing red line! Clearly stands out on an orange back ground. I had to take a scalpel and ruler and cut a tiny thin slice of orange from the leftover sticker sheet (the bit left around the edge of the stickers once removed) and in a medical like operation apply it over the white line across the sticker. Looks pretty good and you would never know unless someone told you, but I know it is there, and it kinda annoys me given it is a prominent sticker on the best building in a $500 set!!!
  20. Would be interesting to know if they actually get to you. I called for a sticker sheet for my UCS Millennium Falcon because it came bent inside the packet and they said yes sure on the phone. A day later the order was cancelled and I got an email saying I was no longer allowed to order missing/broken pieces and was banned from the service!!!! In my experience multiple times with various issues the person on the phone is great but what they offer is never actually followed through on. Same with the Hagrid/Buckbeak GWP that wasn't included in my order...called, was told it would be sent, order was cancelled within the hour. I wish you luck though and please let us know if it comes through...though I fear they may get A LOT of calls now about this given the success you had haha!
  21. Sell! I am in Canada and put mine on ebay.ca at $69.99 and it sold within the hour. That's a huge amount to offset the cost of DA
  22. Had planned on waiting until Xmas week off to build DA. Lasted 2 hours after delivery before I cracked, told my 6 year old daughter we had to convince Mum to let us build it now even though it is a big Xmas present. Mum gave in instantly - presumably only to save her ears from constant griping from us! Looking forward to an amazing weekend of building!!!
  23. See it as an investment for the future. I have bought and sold many sets over the years after building and enjoying and displaying them and I have only ever gained when it comes to the sale over the original price. So treat it well, keep the box and spare parts and run a swiffer over it regularily!
  24. Ohhhhh Caaaaannnnaaada! Enjoy!
  25. Good luck, sounds like you are out west and we ordered at almost the same time 31st into the 1st so I hope yours is there soon. Usual crappy lego packing though, product was undamaged but it was luck. Box had 1 piece of tape holding the 2 top flaps together but it did not run down onto side of box so flaps opened a good 6-8 inches and clearly showed what was inside and allowed for a huge amount of movement. I am sure only the fact it is a big heavy item stopped it from breaking free.
