  1. Yep. Feel pretty foolish about it too. Hindsight (so I'm told) is a wonderful thing.
  2. That'll be me. My original post can be found here. Still waiting. I tried opening up a dispute case with eBay but was notified that I can't start one until September 11th (why that particular date I don't know), so I'm just hanging on until then. I'm actually hoping nothing turns up as it'll be easier to try and get my money back, rather than having to return whatever the Chinese seller has sent me and starting a 'item not as described' case with eBay.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm trying to complete my collection of minikits and I'm looking for a parts list for the unreleased 30053 mini AAT. I found the plans to make the kit in the Star Wars Instruction Index, but being a bit of a n00b (and being colour-blind as well) I find ordering the correct parts very difficult without the piece numbers. I was wondering if anyone had a complete parts list or if anyone could point me in the right direction? Cheers.
  4. Thanks for the link Vassal. I'm a little unsure of what to do next. Do I wait until the 45 day limit is closer or do I get in touch with ebay right now and alert them to my suspicions? The listing states that the estimated delivery date is 6 - 12 working days, so should I hang on until 12 days then kick start things? Technically the seller of the DDS has done nothing wrong yet, so I can't really complain about anything. Or can I? Again, apologies for going off-topic.
  5. Update on the Dodgy Death Star, or as it shall be now known as, the DDS. Received a notification that it's been posted this morning, along with a tracking number. Of course, not knowing what courier service is being used kinda hampers actually tracking the item. But the fact that I've received notification of postage slightly puts my mind at ease about this deal. Slightly. More updates as they happen, film at eleven.
  6. Hello everyone, just a quick couple of lines to introduce myself. My name's Sean and I'm from south Wales, UK. Been a massive Lego fan as a kid but never really started buying kits as a grown-up until the Star Wars stuff started coming out nearly ten years ago. At the time I didn't go nuts but bought a few small kits that I really liked. The girlfriend then didn't really approve and not long after she made me get rid of them in a car boot sale. Soon after that I realised the error of my ways and got rid of her. Since then I've been slowly buying small kits and working my way up to bigger things. I started getting back into my obsession by picking up all of the minikits, including all the Brickmaster sets. I thought that would be a reasonably easy (and cheap) way to get back into the collecting game. Next up were a set of the chromed/gold minifigs. Then the midi-scale Star Destroyer and Falcon to go with the minikits. Lately I've picked up a Land Speeder (8092), Wampa Attack (8089), X-Wing (7140), Vader's Tie Fighter (8017) and large Falcon (7965). A large scale Star Destroyer or AT-AT is probably next on the cards. As you can probably tell, I'm old-school and prefer the original trilogy of Star Wars movies. Some of may have noticed I recently posted in the 'What Was Your Most Recent Purchase?' thread. I'll keep everyone updated on what happens with that deal, but I'm not holding my breath. It's good to find a forum of like-minded people who will hopefully be able to help out a n00b like myself. My other hobby is off-road unicycling. Go figure.
  7. Yeah, I saw that second seller too. I didn't realise the positive feedback for the seller was (it seems) artificially bumped up with very small transactions. Now I'm seriously starting to worry. My apologies for going slightly off-topic, but if the Death Star doesn't show up then I can open a case with eBay and get my money back, right?
  8. I'm beginning to think that starting a 'Do you think this is a wise purchase?' thread would have been more sensible than just buying it today. Hopefully if things go pear-shaped then I'll get some protection from eBay. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know what happens.
  9. Hi folks, Bit of a lurker but recently joined and hope to contribute to what is an incredible forum. Started collecting a few years ago but unfortunately had a girlfriend who didn't approve. After making the grave mistake of getting rid of the small and rare kits I had, I wised up and got rid of the girlfriend. Since then I've been slowly picking up kits here and there, including all the minikits (bar one), a landspeeder, snowspeeder, both midi kits, X-wing, Tie fighter and the new large Falcon. Today I saw this on eBay and decided to go for it. It seemed the price was too good to be true. The guy has already sold 85 (at last count) and I'm hoping I haven't fallen for some horrible scam. Anyway, so that's what I bought today. Hi.
