EB Members Trading Collectable Minifigs Portal

Hi everyone. Due to what I suspect is a distribution/sales error (sets being sold a week earlier than they should have at my local WH Smiths), I've got my hands on some of the Olympic Team GB minifigures. I've almost got a complete set of nine, I'm just missing the swimmer. *edit* Picked up the swimmer this morning. Whoo-hoo! Picture here. But now I've also got a few doubles that I'd like to swap for other figures. What I have: Archer (3) Equestrian (1) Gymnast (1) Tennis Player (1) I also have three one sealed packet. Picture here. I'm after a couple of figures from series 5, 6 and 7, namely: Graduate Cavegirl Lumberjack Fitness Instructor Detective Dwarf Boxer Statue Of Liberty Robot Butcher Genie Swimmer Aztec Warrior Bride Sea God Bagpiper Daredevil Valkyrie I'd also be interested in a ghost 30201 and the Indy 20004 bagged Brickmaster set. Straight swaps are fine with me, shoot me a PM and we'll sort something out. All the GB minifigs have been opened (neatly) so I'll include the bag and the tick-off sheet with each figure. Cheers. *update* Everything gone as far as Team GB minifigs go, thanks very much to everyone who traded and swapped with me. -
WH Smiths in Llanelli, south Wales. I don't think they were meant to be put out. There were three boxes behind the girl at the counter and when I asked if they had any more, she said that's all they had. I mentioned that they weren't meant to be out until next week and she just shrugged and said, "We had them in today so we started selling them."

Strolled in to my branch of WH Smiths this morning and was surprised to see they are selling the Olympic minigures sets. Yep, that's right, they're on sale NOW.

Wanted: GB Olympic Minifigs.

Yes they are. I popped in there today and asked, and they'll be available on the same day as the Lego store release. And it looks like Smiths won't be limiting the amount of figures you can buy. This doesn't tie up with what I was told at the Lego store (that these figures were exclusively available from them). Looks like the sales assistant I spoke to originally either had their wires crossed or just had wrong info. Good news for increased availability though. -
The Porkins x-wing is down to £38 in Tescos.

See you there. I'll be the one with the Welsh accent trying to elbow you out of the way. -

These figures will go on sale at Lego stores on Sunday, July 1st and will be strictly limited to six figures per customer. It's going to be tricky to get a full set quickly. -
Nice. Looks like they've based him on Frank Quitely's Earth 2 Luthor.

Ah, my apologies, I didn't realise they were two different sets.

Hi folks, apologies for dredging up an old thread, but I picked this set up a few days ago and noticed some differences from the set in the review. Firstly, there is no longer a second (scared) face on the female pilot. I'm guessing the head honchos back at Lego HQ probably had a few letters of complaint along the lines of "So it's ok for the WOMAN to be scared, but not the MAN??!! That's SEXIST!!!" Secondly, the white plates that cover the rear landing gear have gone, as has the 1x2 stopper plate on the side of the shuttle just above them. The dark grey technic pieces used for the landing gear have now been replaced by differently shaped black ones. The underside has had a couple of tweaks too, notably where the external fuel tank attaches to the underside of the shuttle. The end of the Canada arm is now mostly black and has a different method of attachment to the satellite. The box artwork has also been changed to show these differences. I'm afraid I don't have a bricklink account yet so I can't show you good close-ups, but I do have a facebook album with some pictures posted here. And I have to agree with you, it's a great set.

Picked up mine today and it's a beauty, a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It's a bit of a pig if you're colourblind though, like the VW campervan, I had some real problems differentiating between the colours, namely the brown 2x3 plates and the REALLY dark brown 2x3 plates (Are they black? I still can't tell). That's what we normal people call 'being impatient'.

I was always under the impression that no voices were used in the Lego games so that it would be easier to market to foreign countries. If there's no language then there's no language barrier, right?

I asked at my local Toys R Us and they said July/August. They couldn't be more specific than that. A phone call to my nearest Lego store came up with "July sometime."

GREATEST Creation Helm's Deep by Korean
into the blue replied to Riquelme's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's big an' all, but I'm not keen on how the curved outer walls are broken up into what looks like a geometric pattern. I think smaller, more random and less obtrusive interruptions would have been more suitable, but hey ho. -
My jaw hit the floor when I saw this on the front page today. It's absolutely beautiful. Would love to see a camo version with D-day black and white stripes.

Galaga guys, Galaga. This is a fun set, but man, it could really do with either a SHIELD agent or a Fury figure -

Just out of curiosity, is this a similar kit that came with the UCS SSD? I have 4492 and it looks like there are more pieces to that build that this one. -

Good luck with that, have you seen what they're going for recently? -
I have to agree with the majority here and say this is an excellent set, a lot larger than I thought it would be. My only niggle is that the technic pins that connect the wingtips were a little loose, and so my wingtips tended to droop a little (no, that's not an euphemism). It's an easily sorted problem, I just put a spare 1x2 plate under each tip to hold it solid to the rest of the wing, but did anyone else have this problem?

Free Lego in The Sun is coming back.
into the blue replied to martyboy70's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Llanelli, South Wales. Most of the queue seemed to be made up of grandparents getting sets for their grandkids. I doubt very much it'll be that mental over the next few days, I'm guessing it was so busy because not many people were at work and Smiths didn't open until 11am. Although I'm glad I don't have to get any more sets, I only wanted the Batman ones. -

The queue outside today was around 150 people. Wow. -

There was a queue of around forty people outside our Smiths this morning waiting for it to open, all wanting the Lego sets. We were limited to three sets per customer. Pretty sure this first Batman set is going to sell out FAST. -
I'd love to see someone mod a drinks tray onto him.

Sorry, just re-read the description and notice it said custom chromed. Doh. But does anyone else feel that putting 'Promo 2012' in the title is a little misleading?
