  1. Just noticed this on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lego-Star-Wars-GOLD-CHROME-Clone-Trooper-PROMO-2012-FREE-WORLDWIDE-SHIPPING-/160789388730?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256fcb5dba Is it legit?
  2. EWOK SMASH!!!
  3. I was lucky enough to score some tickets for the 2012 San Diego Comic Con which takes place in July. As you can imagine, I'm pretty stoked to be going to what is the biggest nerd-fest around (it'll be my first time). Time is going to be pretty limited, so you think I should stick to the Lego booth in the convention centre or make the trek to the California Legoland? I realise it's a bit of a no-brainer question, but there seems to be so much to do and see around the Con (The Space Museum is definitely on the list as it's a stones throw away from the centre). Anyone else going?
  4. I've got a quite modest collection of Star Wars polybags. I think I've got most of the regular bags, plus all the Brickmaster sets and the hard-to-find minifigs. I decided to join the 'not open' group at a very early stage of picking these up. Can't really explain why, I open up every other set I buy, just not the polybags. Weird, huh? These are the sets; 3219 - Tie fighter 6963 - X-wing fighter 6964 - Slave 1 6965 - Tie Interceptor 6966 - Jedi Starfighter 6967 - Arc 170 starfighter 6968 - Wookie attack (made from downloadable instructions) 8028 - Tie fighter 8029 - Snowspeeder (made from downloadable instructions) 8031 - V19 torrent 8033 - Grevious' starfighter 30004 - STAP 30005 - Speeder bike 30006 - Clone walker 30050 - Republic attack shuttle 30051 - X-wing fighter 30052 - AAT 30053 - Republic attack cruiser 30054 - AT-ST 30055 - Vulture droid Brickmaster sets; 20006 - Clone turbo tank 20007 - Republic attack cruiser 20009 - AT-TE walker 20010 - Republic gunship 20016 - Imperial shuttle 20018 - AT-AT 20019 - Slave 1 20021 - Bounty hunter gunship Minifigs; Chrome Vader Chrome Stormtrooper Shadow ARF trooper White Boba Fett Gold C-3P0 *Edit* Just picked up 30057 - Anakin's podracer from Toys R Us this morning.
  5. And yes, I have 6743 and 6913 all set up for when it arrives.
  6. Managed to pick up the Creator Highway Transporter (6753) for £70 on eBay today. I was gutted when I found I'd just missed this in Argos by a few weeks. Ah well.
  7. Ah, my apologies, you're correct, I checked the Lego website and mixed up dollars for pounds. What a maroon.
  8. Popped into Argos today and noticed they had Tower Bridge (10214) on sale for £208, over £30 cheaper than at the Lego store.
  9. I have to admit, I've had all three planet sets, the droid escape set and this new tie set for over a month, and was tempted to try a review, but didn't because I was concerned about how the n00b would be treated by existing members. Maybe next time. Apologies for the threadjack.
  10. Sorry, I should probably clarify, they've been on the shelves of the Lego store for nearly a month, not normal retailer shelves. My apologies.
  11. How come you guys in the States are getting these so late? All the new Star Wars kits have been on the shelves here in the UK for nearly a month already.
  12. Very nice work. Where are the windscreen wipers?
  13. Stopped off in Argos today and noticed they had the new DC superheroes line on their shelf. There were no price tags under the sets and when I took the Batcave to the counter I was told that they couldn't actually sell me the set until Friday. Just a heads-up.
  14. That's a pretty epic MOC, ACPin. Reminds me of the final scene in The Blues Brothers. Did anyone else have an issue with the fishing rods that made up the Ewok glider frame? I could not for the life of me get them to fit together. Eventually I had to take a pin file to the holes to make them larger. Not an ideal fix, but I eventually got them to fit. Grr.
  15. Looks like you were unlucky enough to pick up a duff set then. I know how you feel, my Sebulba podracer had one missing part and three other pieces too many.
  16. You realise that you can twist the top and bottom half of the planet to different positions and then click them together, right? That may solve your 'lining up' issue.
  17. Wow, it arrived this morning! That's fast! Now if you'll excuse me, I have a breakfast to eat and a bunker to build, not necessarily in that order.
  18. Many thanks for all the replies. After much scouring I managed to find it on Amazon late last night. It's on its way.
  19. Love the pins in the stormie's arm and leg.
  20. So, after picking up the Ewok Attack set (7956) for the paltry sum of £12.50 yesterday, I thought that getting the Battle Of Endor set (8038) would go well with it. Yes, I know it's a much bigger set, but I had a little spare cash this month, so I thought, "Meh, why not?" I remember seeing this set in quite a few shops not too long ago, but do you think I could find it anywhere today? Sold out in Toys R Us, WH Smiths, Argos, Smyths, Asda and every other toy retailer I could possibly think of visiting. Has this set been retired? (And yes, I realise it's available on eBay, but I was kinda hoping to get my hands on it before the weekend)
  21. Just picked up the Ewok Attack (7956) at ASDA, knocked down from £25 to £12.50. Result.
  22. Sorry, how much?!
  23. El Capitan! Of course! The Star Trek nerd in me is giving me a kick up the bum for not recognising that.
  24. It looks really similar to a famous base jumping site in Norway. Just type 'base jump Norway' into a google image search.
