  1. Yeah, I think that is one reason Playmobil is quite popular as a toy, because they really put money into making a variety of animals, and decent ones at that. When I was young I was always disappointed by the amount of animals in Lego, and actually, my parents always preferred Playmobil over Lego because there was a whole lot more nature and the like, whereas Lego is "all just blocks" (although, that is what Lego is all about ) Anyway, I think TLG could grab up an even greater slice of the toy market if they would start producing more animals, or at least put the animals they do have in more sets. Frankly, I would rather see Lego produce more new animals than pop out a whole bunch of varieties of ones they've been making for years, e.g: snakes, spiders, etc. (although, I think the horses were due for an upgrade as they have been using the ones they have for a long time and are in so many sets. I'm really glad they look quite similar to the old ones though). The amount of dinosaurs, although nice, is really unnecessary in my opinion, especially when there are so many "missing" animals. I really hope TLG reintroduces the classic dragon though.
  2. I was thinking or running a series of polls leading up to this topic. Although, thinking about it, that would be a massive job. Still, I may try it out, at least on the Castle or Pirate themes first, and if all goes well than get into some other themes. Ultimately though, I am fairly certain at least, the bigger sets will always be nominated first, unless one rates them by price and all, but then that can not properly be seen as a "Favourite Lego Set" topic. More of a "Favourite Lego Set for Price" topic.
  3. I don't think so, although it really depends on how in-depth you are planning to get into this. Will he be fighting a lot of battles and stuff when in Ireland? Or, more or less, just evacuating people? It could possibly be a series, but as of now I see it more as a single book. I don't really know what else to comment on though, the description is a little short...Is it leaning more towards the romantic side of writing with a lot of character study and thought, emotions, etc or is it more of a war deal with the romance just thrown in, or a bit of both?
  4. I grin sardonically at Alisha. "My dear Alisha, where exactly have you been for the last hour or so. Reminiscing on shiny golden arrows no doubt, eh?" OOC: That would lead me to believe that he is good rather than bad, because it seems unlikely that there would be two quests happening, more or less, at once that both have a "bad guy" as the party guide, if you know what I mean. IC: "No, no! Don't tell me that. It's not true. He will kill us all when we least suspect. I will not be able to sleep this night!"
  5. Just a question: is there any benefits/disadvantages of working on a 64-bit computer as opposed to a 32-bit one? Are any programs needed incompatable with 64-bit or produce better or worse results? Any updates soon to be added to the guide?
  6. I find the general lack of baseplates in modern sets quite disappointing. I mean it's nice that the castle sets can be joined together like in the old days and you can add parts to it with every set, that way has its place, but I think that the Castles look a whole lot better when mounted on a raised base plate.
  7. LEGOman273, you are not allowed to post in the Hall while you're on a quest ...I should know.
  8. I groggily pick myself up from the ground. "It's all right! It's all right. The hero is fine. He is still with you be comforted in that knowledge." Worried that my quest members make think me worthless and a less than valuable part of their quest, therefore sending me packing, I quickly decide to, once again, show the power of God. "Dear God!" I beseech Him in what I assume is a "strong" voice, but actually comes out sounding surprisingly feeble. "Show your power once again to these my fellows. That they may know you!" Thankfully, to avoid more humiliation, my prayer is answer and Leo is restored to full health. I test the tonic that I bought from Cleric Wulf. Suddenly I feel a new power well up inside of me (OOC: This does happen, right? The tonics aren't fake, are they? I wouldn't be surprised if they are counterfeits, being so cheap and all! Capt.JohnPaul, please don't get any ideas. ). With the new strength inside of me, I say a new prayer for Flare and he too recovers his full health. So I heal Leo, down a tonic, and then heal Flare. Once I have finished displaying the power of the Divine, I suddenly panic. "We must away at once. There are a hell of a lot of raiders around this part and I suggest we leave while we can. We can split the loot later. "I'll keep charge of it until then."
  9. Odd. Now it's all there. When I looked at it the first time everything between the "Axe Cart" and "Bull's Attack was not there. Now it is. ...odd indeed . Sorry about that. Again, great reviewing going on! Ah! Just discovered something. In Firefox it shows the whole thing, but in Internet Explorer it cuts off the middle part. Try it. That is really, really weird!
  10. OOC: Thanks. IC: I reel from the blow that struck me from seemingly out of nowhere. I had not even heard my assailant approach me. I had made a step towards Alisha when suddenly a fist had struck me in the face. My shattered memory made mr unable to collect why I had stepped towards Alisha, but (OOC: knowing her however poorly he did) I was certain that it was to correct some sort of misgiving. Perhaps, no doubt her general brutality. Or, perhaps, her lack of modesty in public. Still partially out of my mind (OOC: as if he ever was in his mind. ) I scream out, "One of them is among us! One of them is among us." With a surprise burst of energy I tear away from the ground and off down the field swinging my cross violently narrowly missing the faces of several party members. Off down the rode I run until I am stopped by an old oak... Damn! And I thought that I had survived my first battle without getting knocked out...I suppose next time... OOC: Wow! And I finally move up one level! Celebrations people! OOC: How come Alisha is level 4 and Daxus is level 5? They fought and won the same number of battles. Is it because Alisha was more useful in the battles, or what?
  11. I'm not. I sound so awfully stuffy and honestly I really don't mind that much. Your making responses for me does force me to adapt my character accordingly which is rather interesting to do.
  12. OOC: Sorry about all this, Poison Ivy. It was a bit of a needless debate as I hadn't really thinking of a way for Monk Pretzel to respond since I wasn't expecting this to happen. However, maybe you putting in a bit of how Monk Pretzel responds is a good thing. Kind of like an actor being told that he needs to respond to a certain situation in a certain way, but otherwise, he is more or less, free to freelance, if you know what I mean. Just wondering though, how heavy was the punch. Was it a punch out of actual, genuine frustration and anger (in which case I would see no other way around Monk Pretzel getting KO'ed on the spot, or is it more of a way of putting him in his place? A lighter punch, but a promise of more to come, in other words
  13. Sorry about starting this. It was a minor issue and really not one bringing up. Pardon me.
  14. OOC: Whatever. But you still can't really tell me how Monk Pretzel would react. What if Monk Pretzel is a fragile old man that would fall over if somebody spat at him. What would your punch do? He certainly still wouldn't be standing and glaring at her. Also you can't tell the party that they were staring at her in surprise. I wouldn't be surprised if they had been expecting all along given how annoying Monk Pretzel has been lately, especially to you. What I mean to say is it is not Alisha hitting Monk Pretzel that disturbs me, but that you have already written how he has reacted so I cannot exactly change that without ruining what you already wrote. See now I don't really know how to react because I don't see Monk Pretzel standing and glaring at Alisha. That does not seem to be in his character. He would be more vocal and less facial, if you know what I mean. Anyway...
  15. OOC: I may have done it to you before, but please don't continue telling me what Monk Pretzel is doing. He is my character and will respond according to my writing, not yours. How do you know Monk Pretzel did not study some sort of ancient martial arts and suddenly pulls out a surprise move on Alisha? ( As if!) Besides, Monk Pretzel is not some evil...whatever, he's just...well, yeah...whatever.
  16. OOC: Huh? I thought I already posted my battle actions? Oh, I didn't see this battle. Did this actually count? Because if it did, shouldn't Raider B have gotten a free hit? I guess I forgot about this battle because so little actually occured in it. I had been trying to put it on hold though. IC: Anyway, I'll attack Raider A again from the back row. OOC: But can someone tell me why no one is targetting the other one raider?
  17. It's Elijah Woods...and he plays Frodo in all three movies not just The Return of the King.
  18. Good job and another great read. These guys were really not the vision when it came to Lego. Seriously, more seige equipment than they had men to use it. I quite liked their torso designs, at least. Excellent reviewing though, SirSven7. I look forward to more of your works. I saved the page for later reading and further analysis as I usually do, but I don't seem to have seen the "Dragon Rider," and the "Bull's Attack" did not have the set name and number, nor the piece count, which you usually put. Don't know if this was just an oversight or... I don't think I've ever "Weezil's Stone Bomber." Odd set! Again, great job though!
  19. OOC: I actually meant everyone else except you, since I saw your "Country:Israel". Well, I suppose Legoman273 is in the States, because that's what his says, but I'm not really sure about TheBoyWonder, Capt.JohnPaul, or Poison Ivy.
  20. Gave yourself away there. No idea who Monk Pretzel would be. Not really much of a person who knows a lot about actors/actresses, so...
  21. OOC: Why? What time zone are the rest of you in? And why is it that nobody wants to attack the other raider? Sure we can take the free hits, but is it necessary?
  22. You hit the head on the nail! A perfect Ellaria!
  23. OOC: Capt.JohnPaul please let us know your course of action so the rest of us know how to proceed. If we're dropping Daxus entirely then we will have to rearrange our battle format. I don't know if this battle format is good in any case, because both Daxus (if he stays on) and Leo are attacking the North Warlord and both Alisha and Benji are attacking the archer. No one is attacking Viking Raider B, so he will get a free hit. Capt.JohnPaul, I just realized that you put "KO'ed" by Monk Pretzel's name. A pre-emptive move, I am guessing.
