Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Palathadric replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
I attack Battering Ram C from the Front Row with Dual Staff (Double) Man, I've gone bonkers. Can't even post a single action right. Sorry fellows, I got online early yesterday, so I missed Sandy's post. -
Don't know. Bones are very useful items really. Surprised people don't value them more. Certainly make those skeleton decoys look stupid.

"He does have a sinister sorcerous grin," I note.

I'm not assuming anything. You were the one talking about watching him: I guess when you said "watch him," you didn't mean that literally, or? What does this have to do with anything. I never asked you if you had an action or remotely hinted that. I never said "easier," I said "just as easy," and it was easy. Sigrid only had one vote at the time you voted for Wilhalm, hardly a "guaranteed Day 1 lynch." -
"Follow his example? If it's all the same, he strikes me more as having knight qualities while you have the qualities of an...er...slinker, if you know what I mean."
-
"Splendid then. Where are you from Master...? I hear you speaking of R'kilf, are you from there?" I hand Alexander 180 gold and take the Duplovian Helmet.

Because enemies are weak to certain elements while heroes are not.

"Not bad, but not as good as 180 would sound."

Ragnarök Now Redux - Nights (Players Only)

Sounds like a really ridiculous conclusion to come to. Why would two scum attach to each other so early in the game and over nothing at all. It's not like Naemr's post was game-changing or anything like that. Generally scum like to keep their distance from one another. Granted there is the possibility that both of them spoke over-eagerly and their posts were pretty close together, but I would certainly lean towards only one of them being scum. Does anyone else think that this whole Snotra-Lefsi argument seems very made-up? It almost sounds like Snotra is talking so freely about the vig killing Lefsi to ensure that the vig won't do that. -
Exactly! In the beginning I thought it would be a mystery quest, but turned out to be a puzzle one. I don't mind at all. I very much liked the idea behind the quest. The puzzles may have been easy, but I wonder what would have happened had we got something wrong. At the end I did felt a bit edgy when they wanted the answer in such a short period, especially since there wasn't really an actual case against gollum except what he said. That felt a bit funny, but again I got the impression that it was a puzzle quest not a mystery quest so the "mystery" played a small part, but the main part was to answer the puzzles right. It was fun meeting the veterans too and seeing bumbly old Pallas again. I thought that only giving experience to those who answered made sense, as I think that's what's usually done for experience-giving puzzles. Only the hero who answers the puzzle gets the experience. One could say this is different because there were no battles, but then again I entered the quest not expecting to get more than one battles worth of experience, so I was pleasantly surprised to get more. I entered the quest because it sounded awesome and to get access to the artisan class. Also, once we realized that only those who answered got experience, I think I tried to make sure that everyone got a chance to answer, although mistakes couldn't be tolerated. For my first Sandy quest, this was definitely a very positive experience. Maybe not Sandy's best, but still very good.

Oops, had some things to do, anyway... Something else I noticed is that Lefsi was very quiet throughout the start of the day. I know that a few of us were very suspicious of him towards the end of yesterday, and it seems convenient that he sort of disappeared for a while and only reappeared when the whole Sigrid-Wilhalm debate was going on in some earnest. First two posts were these: More people are found as being suspicious for saying something not helpful than saying that they have nothing helpful to say, from what I've seen. It's not like Lefsi was accused, but he makes sure that he isn't dumped into the same group as Sigrid, while also making sure that his speech doesn't cause anyone to feel the need to respond to it. Quick on the draw to say that Wary's wrong to prevent anyone who's focusing on the other debate (Dufa/Snotra-Chief Mursi) to switch to scanning him (Lefsi). He then throws a weak accusation at Wary. Sigrid was an "easy" lynch, but I'm not convinced that Wilhalm's wasn't just as "easy" as Wilhalm didn't really respond to accusations or defend himself either, so I don't know what he means by that. Acknowledges that Sigrid's flipping scum may implicate him, but quickly remind as well that there are many others who could be seen as suspicious as well. He seems very defensive the whole time. Even if you were to watch him/track him (I always forget which is which ), all you would know is that he targeted someone, not with what action he did. He could easily be scum targeting someone with some action other than a killing one (assuming he is not a killer of course). -
Apologies for keeping my team waiting. We could have been in there a few days ago, but I really didn't want to miss whatever happened at the Merry Mermaid.

This is from Dufa's message to Chief Mursi. What I wonder though is that this happened when Sigrid was leading the voting 9-6. Why would Dufa have said that he would switch to Petr when Sisco was leading? Even if Petr had gotten a few more votes they would probably have been roughly at a tie, which makes one wonder if Dufa really thought that Sisco was more suspicious than Petr. Of course, I didn't read the whole chain, so perhaps that's why I see it this way. Another thing that I find funny is that something from the tone of the message it almost sounds like Dufa is hoping that Chief Mursi will get a few more people to vote for Petr. -
Apologies for keeping the Fields of Glory team waiting.

Ragnarök Now Redux - Confirmation & Discussion

Are we allowed to post in the Night thread or will we be notified when we can? -
I enter the hall. What an interesting quest. I have to say those Town Watch fellows seem more incompetent than I originally took them for. I sign up for the Fields of Glory with Romulus' party. I need to do this right? I scan the surrounding area and am suddenly drawn to a marvelous helmet. Approaching it, I look around for it's owner. "Ah, greetings ranger. I can't recall meeting you before. That's a lovely helmet you have there. May I ask what it's worth to you?"

I would say second ruling for both PvP and enemy versus hero to counter heroes not being weak to anything. I wouldn't say the same for heroes versus enemies though. I think if enemies are immune to one of heroes gems and neutral to another, the attack shouldn't have any effect on the enemy.

Ragnarök Now Redux - Day Two
Palathadric replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Funny, last time someone was mod-killed, in the middle of Day 1, as I can recall it. That person was an Einherjar and the affiliation was revealed right away. Perhaps Harald delays because Sigrid is scum. Although I guess I shouldn't read anything into it. As much as I'd like to catch a scum to do it would kind of suck to be given a scum on a silver platter due to being killed by Harald. -

What I meant was that he seems to have purely selfish intentions at heart and doesn't even seem to have an team-considerations, so he could be SK and not scum. All the same, it was still a joke kind of. I've never "caught" an SK before, and I don't really know how it works. Right now I'd certainly lean more towards Naemr being scum than Wilhalm. The case against him is quite good and though there's still that nagging feeling inside that he's not scum, his is definitely the best case we have that I can see. So I feel more comfortable voting him than anyone else. Vote: Naemr Sledgehammer (Captain Nemo) -

Wouldn't it be better that we decide together who to vote on rather than just letting the vig find whoever he thinks is good? The vig is working with us, so if we tell him not to kill, he will probably not kill unless he's very convinced the person he's killing is scum. Voting also gives us the opportunity to analyze. Though at this point, it seems unlikely we'll get a lynch. Something I find odd, but i'm sure we all found that odd is the three kills. All of them were suspects yesterday. Why would scum want to kill off one of the town's suspects? I half wonder if one of them claimed something in thread to get someone off their backs and that person happened to be scum. I can't see why else they would knock off one of our suspects. This has to be the oddest post of the game. If you're going to be doing whatever you want whenever you want, how is that helpful to town? Hey, Wilhalm, maybe you have a person to try your psychiatry on tonight. How are you planning on confirming his claim exactly? -

Is this all we're getting from you in the whole day? I fail to understand what you're trying to do if you're town. -
Heroica RPG - Quest#87: The Marketplace Mystery
Palathadric replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"A wise practice, Dragonlord." "They know? How strange that they would know when many heroes don't even know." I gaze steadily at the Copper Fox. "Well spoken!" I pause as the talk turns to demons. "They can never beat us we will crush their power. It's been done before. Tales are not sung without reason. We are called heroes for a reason. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Dragonlord, Copper Fox." I nod respectfully towards the Dragonlord, but my eyes remain fixed on the Copper Fox as I bow.- 327 replies

Ragnarök Now Redux - Day Two
Palathadric replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, it seems Sigrid's spirit has left her. I guess we should wait and see if the new spirit (assuming there is one) carries on behaving suspiciously or not. Maybe the joker voted Naemr because he didn't think it possible we could lynch Petr, but then when the red-haired dude voted, he switched his vote. He has been acting a bit strange though. -

Palathadric replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yup. Can't see any reason a townie would not. A scum...don't know. Maybe wanted to show that he was very reluctant to do it. Naemr, you were the one who put out the whole idea about searching the old day threads. Weren't you also the one who was defending yourself early in the game for no apparent reason. I don't have that in my notes for some reason, but I thought it was you. You were pretty suspicious all along, but happened to be overshadowed by other things. I think from what we've seen so far, it seems clear that saying that will not make her talk anymore than she is. -

I read it the same way actually. It looked ridiculously a lot like an excuse for nailing the final vote. I don't really see what would be the point of doing something like that if he's town. I have a hard time deciding whether the scum would have wanted to place that final vote or not.
