I like that the Figures aren't figbarfs, it really allows you to study the bridge and that's a great thing. Love how time and the undergrowth are slowly taking the bridge back, -

An alleyway, lovingly borrowed from my Gotham moc for this shot with Ranj's ship in the background -

I'd build on Krownest many times in the old rpg - great to see a return to the planet, nice design! -
Thank you for the compliment, if you live near a Lego store you can occasionally luck out and they have transparent pieces on Pick a brick walls which is how i have accrued a collection but you're completely right - you can only build with what you have and the builds you are creating are certainly great!

Great little build here and welcome, Some great texture to the build, definitely Crait with this build, and a nice little story too! Administrative note: for the entry copy the link to this post rather then to your flickr but this is a small footnote! -
To quote and echo Yperio there were some brilliant builds in all categories and some great storytelling and techniques deployed. We'd love to see you keep this up with builds that further the stories of those you've told in the competition over in Mysteries With fun options for telling the exploits of Rebels/Republic, The Empire and everything inbetween!

This is brilliant, I really enjoy the microscale detail whilst retaining a lot of the aesthetics that we enjoy in within Star Wars and the location

I like the canopy position you'd utilised here, as you suggest it brings it a little closer to the movie model silhouette -
[S11 - MC] The Ungraceful Exit
n1majneb replied to n1majneb's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
Thanks for the kind words, I'm really happy with the execution of the background. I enjoy building water and capturing the movement within it and I think this is the best i've captured so far. Thank you - I'm really happy with the ship and it's colour but more so the compact build and we're going studs in all directions with the ship, with some well placed clips the base is upside down to retain smooth clean lines. But i'm happiest with the engines, since building the XL15 i've wanted to build angled engines like this and the 2x3 shield does a lot of the legwork here (and the edge of the shield is just visible and asks a nice little piece of texture too!) -
Thank you, super pleased with how this ship came out.

*Your entry has earned 21 XP + 21 bonus for a total of 42 XP (S:7, T:7, A:7) On the desolate and mysterious planet of Varl, where the remnants of ancient civilizations lay buried beneath the sands and treacherous canyons stretched as far as the eye could see, a sleek yellow A-6 interceptor, "The Ungraceful Exit," screamed through the air. The starfighter was as much renowned for its blazing speed and unorthodox manoeuvres as her pilot, often leaving spectators awestruck and opponents bewildered. Across the scarred and desolate planet, small signs of life could be found. Deep under the surface could be found subterranean cities hidden away from the prying eyes of Empire and it's replacement, A New Republic. Here, Keeto Ranj can be found in the seat of his modified A-6, The Ungraceful Exit. Using a race through the subterranean rivers as excuse he is here smuggling - well, it pays not to not to know at times. Nestled in stowage beneath the thrumming Fusial engines it was ready to be delivered as soon as he'd won todays race. He had no doubt about the outcome, Keeto’s chances were written off before he’d even fired up the Fusial thrust engines of his reworked A-6 Interceptor. No one expects the A-6, a relic from the old republic to be fast! As the race began, The Ungraceful Exit burst forth from the starting line, leaving a trail of fire and steam in its wake. Keeto's deft hands moved swiftly over the controls, guiding the A-6 interceptor with precision. The crowd, gathered along the permacrete canyon edges and from every viewing platform, cheered wildly as the racers zoomed past leaving a riot of colour and noise as they flew at breakneck speeds. The final stretch of the race was the most challenging, the glow of the thrusters through the tunnel were visible before the report of the engines could be heard by the crowds watching the racing snub fighters, the Ungraceful Exit leading the charge with a series of tight turns and narrow tunnels leading to the finish line. Keeto could feel the adrenaline surging through his veins as he pushed the A-6 interceptor to its limits. The engines roared as The Ungraceful Exit blazed ahead, just as the tunnel opening came into view. With a final roar, The Ungraceful Exit shot out of the tunnel and crossed the finish line, seconds ahead of the competition. The crowd erupted in deafening cheers as Keeto Ranj emerged victorious, was the win important? No, but the notoriety that if you wanted small, nimble and fast for your job; then you would do no better than The Ungraceful Exit was everything - because it costs to keep a ship outrunning the Empire at every turn.... Contraband wasn't always about subterfuge. Build notes and alt angles: Thanks for taking a look, my first build in a while, let's hope the next one comes along sooner - i'm eager to see where Keeto goes next!

Introducing Keeto Ranj and his ship, 'The Ungraceful Exit' The glow of the thrusters through the tunnel were visible before the report of the engines could be heard by the crowds watching the racing snub fighters, the Ungraceful Exit leading the charge. Keeto’s chances were written off before he’d even fired up the Fusial thrust engines of his reworked A-6 Interceptor. As he reached the crowds, he could see the surprise of the faces as he’d left the competition a good distance behind, flying low over the subterranean river the Ungraceful Exit was trailed by the wake, the white water pushing him ever forward. Was the win important? No, but the notoriety that if you wanted small, nimble and fast for your job; then you would do no better than The Ungraceful Exit was everything - because it costs to keep a ship outrunning the Empire at every turn... A throwback to the last days of Republic, Keeto recovered the A-6 Interceptor from a scrapyard in the outer rim. Fully re-outfitting with two recovered sub-light Engines and Hyperdrive Keeto wanted his new ship to be noticed and so outfitted it in a Flame Yellow livery. In a Galaxy of shades of grey, Keeto had a flare for the extravagance and wanted his ship to stand out… My entry for the May 4th contest, the ship is my reworking of the deep cut ship the A-6 Interceptor from the twilight days of the Galactic republic, with modernised parts for the days of surviving Empire. I was keen to stray away from TIE's and X, Y etc Wings and took to researching the wealth of ships featured in the Expanded Universe (Old and New) Armed with 2 x laser cannons for aerial combat and two blasters mounted under the cheeks for low level strafing of targets, finally we have a single Proton Torpedo system situated at the front of the ship. This ship is ready for any excursion. On the twin nacelle's can be found the ship's sensor array providing all information Keeto could ever need to stay one step ahead of the Empire. Finally, below the twin angled engines, can be found a removable storage compartment nestled in between the twin landing struts for a smugglers cargo or the picnic hamper for those weekends away in the Unknown Regions... Thanks for looking, Further imagery: Thanks for looking, C and C always welcome,
