I really like the MOC in the second picture... that is just too cool. *y*

Very good review! These sets are a lot better than I expected, and for $20, I might have to pick up both! My family and I are going to Orlando this summer, hopefully I'll pick these and some other sets up at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney. :-D
-
Heh, that Omega Metroid is looking very cool! I love how you've done its head. All of these are nice, and I like that you weren't afraid to use bold colors, such as the bright orange and green on Samus. The colors really stand out. (In a good way! ;-)) Nice job! -Ryan

Wow, that is really, really cool. I love the flames, and I especially like that they're made out of plates. Nice work, and good luck in the contest! :-D
-
Yet another great MOC from our beloved Rocko. I love the goblins, and how natural the slope looks. And the little pieces of rock poking up out of the snow are great, too. ;-)
-
I love love love that ogre! It's always nice to see good-looking brick-built creatures. And those frogs are brilliant! *sweet* An all around great MOC.

If we are indeed getting elves, I can't wait! I love how they are reusing the Indy manbag, and maybe we'll get helmet/hairpieces that work similarly to the dwarf helmets and beards. The only bad thing about the elves is that they won't fit in with mine... mine have Mongol hats and a dark red colour scheme. I guess there'll be my elves from the North and then the official elves from the woodlands! :-$

Very cool, and very accurately done. I love the use of the yellow flag, too. That is one of the best movies in terms of visuals that I've ever seen, even though I was probably a little too young to see it when I did. My dad was a little grumpy that I convinced him into taking me to see it. >:-)

Your creations never cease to amaze me. The sheer level of detail along with your huge minifig selection is impressive. And I love the burning oil. ;-) Keep up the good work, as I (and everybody else) know you will! :-D
-
Very, very cool. That hay roof (especially where the hay is burned) is amazing. And I love this surge we've had of burning oil being used in MOCs lately. :-$

Congratulations on finding the sets! Can't wait for the reviews. ;-) Edit: My 100th post! Yay! *sweet*

7048 - Troll Warship Picture Review!
lego.ryan replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Oh my lord! This is one of the best recent sets I think. And six trolls? I thought there were four! Can't wait for this! *wub* Also, does anyone know what the U.S. price will be? -
Amazing! I especially like the redone Cafe Corner. The resemblance is uncanny! *wub*
-
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Great movie, great music too! *wub*

What book are you reading right now?
lego.ryan replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. I've read it three times already, but I'm one of those people who will just reread the same books over and over and still find them interesting. X-D I recommend the series to anyone who likes Greek mythology, but a word of warning- the author does take some creative licence. Overall though, they're very enjoyable books and there's still two more to come! Books in the series: The Lightning Thief The Sea of Monsters The Titan's Curse And in May: The Battle of the Labyrinth Wow, I'm a billboard. :-$ -
Since I generally love movies, this is hard for me! (But not really! ;-)) Best Movie(s): Without a doubt, the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is and will always be my favorite set of movies, and in order, they'd be At World's End, Curse of the Black Pearl, and Dead Man's Chest. Considering that I went from being completely skeptical to being an absolute fanboy of the films, I'd say that they truly are magic. Definitely, the best part of these movies is the characters. We've got loopy but lovable Jack Sparrow, the vile but engaging Barbossa, the heroic Will Turner, and of course, the lovely but fierce Elizabeth Swann, whose transformation from damsel-in-distress to full-fledged pirate (King) is one of the strongest parts of the series. *wub* And there's also Davy Jones. *sweet* Worst Movie: Definitely, definitely Eragon. I was pleasantly surprised by the book, I'll admit that I really didn't think I'd enjoy it. Needless to say, I did enjoy it, and was quite excited when I heard about the movie adaptation. That was, until I actually saw the movie. They really could've made it great, and the result was two hours of emptiness. The main problem was the characters, especially Brom and Arya. Brom looked like an aging father, and Arya? My goodness. I remember in the books that she was described as having tan skin and dark hair, and then in the movies she has porcelain skin and red hair. Another problem was the final battle. It was basically nothing like it was described in the book. I understand straying just a little from the source material to make things fit and because of time constraints, a la Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings, but this movie is just ridiculous. The only redeeming quality about it is Saphira- voiced perfectly by the lovely Rachel Weisz- which was basically the only part of the film nearly perfectly true to the book. Wow, I don't think I've ever written a post this long. :-$

What do you want to see from the Batman Theme
lego.ryan replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Licensed
More minifigs and more buildings, definitely! It'd be nice to see the theme branch out, instead of just having the vehicle be the prominent part of the set. I'm not saying no vehicles at all, just spice it up a little. ;-) -
I got mine today! X-D I too got an Anakin Clone Wars head, although I'm not really complaining since I already have an Indy head from the Motorcycle Chase set. It is really odd that they would pack in such a different looking head though. Also, for those that think the head has no use, try placing it under one of the braided new brown dwarf beards. It looks pretty nice, I think! *y* On the set, it's wonderful! The hieroglyphic stickers are wonderful, Marion (especially her head and hair) is wonderful, and the Anubis statues are nice too. There's also lots of nice tan parts, such as 20 round 2x2s, and 8 1x8 bricks. All in all, it's a great set for the price, and I can't wait to get Race for the Stolen Treasure and Temple Escape now! *sweet*

Indiana Jones Part 4 - Set Pictures are available
lego.ryan replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in LEGO Licensed
I absolutely love the first, second, and fourth sets, however I can't say that anything in the big set is really exciting. It doesn't even look like a building, just a jumble of bricks on a baseplate. :-/ I'll definitely be picking up the other three though! *wub* -
I really like the color scheme, the red on brown actually has a very appealing effect. Keep working, I can't wait to see the final result! *sweet*

Welcome to Eurobricks! *sweet*

Fidelity, by Regina Spektor. Kinda girly, but it's quirky and sweet, and she has a wonderful voice. *wub*

The 10 reasons you know you are a true lego fan
lego.ryan replied to Zarkan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You wonder what people you know would look like if they were minifigs. Honestly, I do this all the time, such as picking out hairpieces and appropriate faces. :-|
