  1. I can't speak for myself, but I know one of my fellow reviewers at the Brothers Brick felt it was a bit of a slog. IIRC the sub-heading for the review was 'a giant plate sandwich'.
  2. I have 75409 and although I'm away, from memory, this looks a bit small.
  3. The plus side is that after Christmas the price on ACs drops like a lead balloon. Even on S@H (do people still call it that?) they go for 20-30% off.
  4. I was looking at that set the other day alongside the Slave I, and it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it just how long that set's been around. Assuming it sticks around to the end of this year that's a three-and-a-half-year shelf life, which is pretty crazy for a system set. I'm glad it stayed long enough to be sold alongside the Slave I though. Oh, and welcome!
  5. I'm wondering if it was a late name change. Review copies - including my own - have the name "Jango Fett's Starship" on the box, without the Firespray bit. The plaque does say Firespray-class but still has "Jango Fett's Starship" as the tag line. Not sure if either will change to match what LEGO seem to be calling it everywhere else though.
  6. Eh, they might have changed the uniform between Rebels and whenever this guy appears (he could be from closer to RO/ANH since Andor S2 spans a few years). It would be a very Empire thing to standardise armour across their troops where possible as the stormtroopers become more widespread.
  7. I agree a gingerbread one would be fun. The piping around the outside would be perfect for the grey framing that already exists on the wings.
  8. Could be. I just remember walking past the stand and seeing them on display there thinking about it they might have been revealed beforehand. I'm pretty sure they leaked early at least.
  9. IIRC the UCS X-wing, YJA 4+ set and RotJ dioramas were revealed at or around SWCE in 2023, so there is precedent.
  10. I was going to make this argument, but the I remembered that Clone Army Customs have their own two-legged battle droid, and honestly it doesn't look wide at all. The torso isn't perfect (I'd probably stick with something more similar to the current one), but it's still a sound design IMO. I never quite got the Cerveza Cristal thing but this is a very funny idea nonetheless.
  11. Although I'm not an army builder I can see why some might not like the idea, more so than the stormtrooper helmets for instance. Droids are meant to have numerical superiority above all else, and 26 years of essentially the same thing (for pennies on the aftermarket, too) means it's far easier to get 'realistic' numbers for droid armies. Separate legs would probably mean a new torso re-design at the same time, as there's no way you could get two clips on the current torso; and if they updated the B1s I'd want them to update the B2s as well, which they only just did. I would like to see it happen eventually but personally I wouldn't say it's a high priority.
  12. I always thought the big cockpit on the earlier one was an odd choice, so I'm intrigued to see how this one looks from the front. Figs look phenomenal though.
  13. I just wanted to acknowledge that this is a funny term and I will be using it in future. I think both sides are correct, though. Clearly the role of MFs (ahem) has changed over the last few years, but I think it's more a reflection of TLG's attitude towards the SW theme as a whole. Equally, as we've discussed many times on this forum before: trying to decipher a pattern among LEGO's releases is a fool's errand. My 2 cents is that Plo would make a good candidate for an advent calendar figure.
  14. While I broadly agree with the 'if they could, they would' statement, I do also wonder if the current SW sales data is leading them to believe it's not a good business move. It seems (to me anyway) that SW is becoming more minifig-averse with the proliferation of 18+ sets. IIRC it was mentioned a few pages back, but some non-AFOLs may see minifigs as an indicator that a given set is a toy, rather than something targeted at adults. Clearly the theme is becoming more targeted at that market, so logically one could assume that the market for SW minifigs (and therefore a CMF series) is becoming less and less important for TLG's bottom line. Did @BrickBob Studpants do some sort of number-crunching on the amount of figs we get nowadays? That might lend some credence to this little theory.
  15. See what I see is: Slave I Clone set Clone set U-wing Clone set Clone set So it's overwhelmingly TCW-based, and I'm done with that right now. (I know the MTT is a CIS set, but i would've preferred it to be TPM-based.) And they're more or less the only system sets. Not to mention some of them sound a bit overpriced on current info - of course proper reveals may change that.
  16. Interesting idea. They've done it for Creator and Technic sets, so in theory they could, but the minifigs would have to be different and presumably the box art and packaging would too. And it's not like it's just swapping one colour for another, in the case of Slave I there'd be multiple colours of parts that need swapping out. I wonder if there is a set that could work more easily for, though. Just seen the AT-AT driver now it's been officially unveiled. Very nice. I own the other non-stormie Imperial helmets, so I'll probably pick this one up.
  17. This is super creative! Goes to show just how many parts this set actually has, too. I felt like it was never really obvious from the main build.
  18. Nice model! It'd be tempting to call it simplistic, but after all, that's exactly what the design calls for, so you nailed it! How many pieces is it, out of interest?
  19. Perhaps I have a selective memory then - I read the canon books after having seen Thrawn in Rebels, and I can't remember anything jumping out as being contradictory. The Pryce framing thing seems very much on brand for her. I do agree with your last sentence though, even if they might have been aligned to begin with; I doubt Zahn would've followed this same thread for Thrawn post-Empire.
  20. Hot take: it seems this way because he was a book character first and foremost. It's easier in relative terms to demonstrate depth and complexity in book form, as authors and narrators can basically tell us what a character is thinking. Additionally, you tend to spend more time with characters in books, so there's more time to explore things like morals. It's much harder to do that in film or even TV, as a) you don't have a direct link to a character's inner thoughts - you have to show it through dialogue and actions, and b) so much less time is spent with them. (It's why I prefer reading books to watching films or series!) I think they did a great job with Thrawn in Rebels, considering it's a kids' show. Ahsoka Thrawn was fine IMO.
  21. Thanks. I can provide screenshots if you need them!
  22. Along a simialr thread, on mobile a new ad banner has popped up at the top of the screen recently (last couple of weeks or so). But it's started to become more intrusive, to the point it takes up literally half the screen. I don't mind ads (gotta pay the bills, after all), but this one makes the site borderline unusable on mobile. Is there any setting that can be changed there?
  23. I dunno, it seems like something they're doing a lot more frequently of late, including for smaller sets (although admittedly I only really notice the licensed ones). The 2025 Jurassic World, Star Wars and some Technic sets are up for pre-order now, for instance, and most of them only got officially revealed in the last week or so.
  24. Wow, I'm surprised how much of a difference moving the eyes makes. They look way better moved down that tiny bit.
