For $250, having the pieces all be minifigures wouldn't make sense. I think each square will be 5 studs by 5 studs at least, which means minifigure pieces would look tiny.

LMAO I was 100% joking when I guessed that @Guyon2002 was referring to buildable characters. It just makes no sense for a theme like HP

So it is Fawkes , that set should be an easy pass for me unless it looks spectacular. I wonder if that'll come with an exclusive Dumbledore. I can't see it being better than the CMF Dumbledore though.

Yeah I 100% understand why they went with the chess set. It'll appeal to HP fans (obviously), non-HP fans who like chess, and if the build looks as cool as it did in the movie, it can introduce non-HP fans into the theme. While I wished for a traditional minifig-scale set, I think at the $250 pricepoint they'll be able to do the chess set justice (and more). I even have a wizard chess set from 2001 which was probably the first piece of HP merchandise I ever owned, so this set would hold some nostalgic value for me :)

He said he bought them from a store, so whatever store is selling unreleased minifigures is definitely at fault here Yeah as someone that has the 2018 Bricktober figure, this new one is really solid. I still prefer the 2018 one but I'm glad we have a good non-exclusive variant.

I DM'd them about this and they said it was definitely a Chitauri and not Drax. But they said anything can change so For that reason, I picked up the latest Milano (from 2017) on eBay yesterday. I don't have any of the Guardians yet, so since the Benatar won't include Nebula, Drax or Gamora, I figured that would be a good one to get.

Not sure if we knew this already, but Panda Minifigs said in the comments of his video that the golden minifigures will likely also come with golden wands. He also said he's going to post a video showing off one of the "golden" trio soon :)

I can see this. Showing off some golden minifigures would be a fun way to tease the upcoming wave as an anniversary wave without actually revealing the sets (if it's too early).

Yeah it'll look perfect with this, the red that Panda Minifigs uses is too bright IMO
