Generic Contest Discussion
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not sure if I agree hehe, but I get your point. Okay, I think I've heard enough. I will work on the details but right now I am thinking of a 6 week small car competition. After that I'm open to a GBC competition, For both competitions I won't be able to provide LEGO sets as prizes, but I will try to come up with alternative prizes. Feel free to continue the discussion, but that's what I have in mind right now. -

Yup. The list is in the index. I really like the idea, but that would boil down to an A and B model contest, possibly C. Maybe we could define the inventory beforehand, so each contestant needs to use the same parts. That’s what I had in mind initially, without the part limit. The rim restriction is enough. -

You can see in my picture (that pic is from my review, not his pic) that both diffs are on the same side. And my model is working properly. So both diffs on the same side is correct. -

I would love to do a GBC contest, but I am afraid the majority will not be interested in such a contest. Typing this reply was more effort than voting for a contest. Just sayin (I am working on a new helper website for Eurobricks, so maybe the "click to vote" scenario will become a reality soon....soon-ish.....2021-ish) I am thinking about doing some shorter/smaller competitions. Since TLG is suffering from Corona as well, I probably won't have prizes anyway. Well, maybe I can arrange for some coffee mugs, like we for in the pullback contest. Six week build period, so we can do "Small Car", "GBC", ... -

More like this: "Something with corvette wheels" -

Doe you mean top deck only? "Something with corvette wheels" will probably suffice. -

I tend to favor smaller scale as well. Something that will fit the 42098 - Car Transporter. And maybe I will join. Just for sh.ts and giggles. -

Not sure about the "supercar" part, but small scale car is a likely candidate for next contest. Supercar would mean "medium scale" at least, right? -

We can start asap, but let's reserve ample time for everyone to compete. -

I do like the non-vehicle approach. But this also feels like it wouldn't generate a lot of interest. Maybe I'm wrong though. Small scale car with certain wheel size will be easy to participate. -

I was thinking about making a Pullback Duo like TLG does, but we already did a pullback contest. While I love the idea, I don't think that will generate a lot of interest. Feels niche. Sounds great, but complicated. I have been thinking about making a transforming chassis. Could be a contest, transformers. Would be very difficult though. Maybe that could be a group project. -

Any thoughts for a new contest? -
I ended up using the old tool. But I will check to make sure things went right. Thanks for the heads-up. Do these illegal voters happen to have less than 50 posts? Edit: I don't see any errors. Can you point me in the right direction? 15: 10 23: 6 20: 4 18: 3 6: 2 9: 1 9:10 13:6 14:4 19:3 20:2 1:1 12:10 5:6 9:4 20:3 14:2 24:1 The first voter has less than 50 posts, so he is not eligible to vote. I have found a bug though: CONTEST SUMMARYTotal entry count: 25Total voter count: 36Valid voter count: 36 (this is incorrect) The valid voter count is invalid. The summary only takes in account when votes have an incorrect syntax, but not whether a voter is excluded due to insufficient number of posts. The score has been counted correctly, but the summary is incorrect. I will fix this in my new software. Thanks again.
